yes that squish is very high, but i have no idea how a motor that is goin to be runnin nitro is setup. I would think it would be a bigger squish but not sure if it needs to be that high. Who is your engine builder?
-
a couple of the pics would not load for me. I didnt get to see any pics of the auxiliary exhaust ports. Those cylinders however are identical to the way mine used to be, they are first generation. There is a lot of work needed to be done to those for them to make some real power.
-
pretty bad ass looking blaster!! from the looks of the intakes im about 90% sure its a little newer generation. Can you get me a pick of the auxiliary exhaust ports? The first generation the auxiliary boost ports and auxiliary exhaust ports were small also, on your intake do you have six ports with three large and three smaller or just three very tall ones? Just a pic of all the ports would be helpful. Like daj said with the cylinders in the right hands they can make some power but with LOTS of work. I have no idea what mine is making, its a 427 but comparing to other bikes ive raced id say its high 80's maybe low 90's. maybe more who knows, ive beat many 421 cubs but setup was huge factor there.

this is the only pic i can find at the moment. Nothin really that special just a flat top piston
-
the port layouts are different if im correct. Ive seen a couple different kinds of sleeves. Mine are first generation.
-
yeah he is right they are probably 10cc. You can run domed pistons in it, lots of changing stuff around is required though. I still run flat top pistons in mine. Ive got the 12cc domes in mine with alcohol, i used to run the 8's but just too much damn compression, it didnt like to rev. As far as horsepower, unported id say your looking at 75 maybe, and i stress the maybe. probably more like high 60's low 70's. Let me ask you this, is it new generation trex or old generation?

actually with your engine and if you buy the 20x8x10 tires id leave that gearing on it. Stock motor is gonna have a little hard time if you gear any higher than that id think.
-
with those mods listed id say a +8 is gonna be long, also for gearing just put a 41 on the rear with the 14 on the front and youll be good to go. the american racer sd23 is a good tire, thats what i want but just cant afford them, get the 20x8x10 sd23. Then you wont have to buy new tires when you get some motor work done and better pipes. It will probably be too much tire at first but just gear accordingly so like i said you wont have to buy new tires later. on height like tidos said set the arms and swinger level to the ground but if not level a little higher is better than lower.

looks damn good!!
-
did they happen to come with pistons?
-
i just buy mine at the westlake or yes lowes sells it aswell. Its only like 50 cents a foot or maybe even cheaper than that. I have to replace it pretty frequently though cause the alky makes it hard.
-
very true...
-
Im with fouledout, close to 80 is right. Just cause its getting choked on carb and pipes doesnt mean that 20hp is being robbed....
-
yeah sounds good to me, im goin tonight!
-
lol i see, well i have the one with the metal ball. I love it so far, works great.
-
alll you need to do is run mixed gas through the engine and carb to flush out all the alcohol. If you dont the alcohol will rust all the internals because of the moisture it makes.
-
haha yeah forgot that part... I got a great examply for ya g_low, this past weekend me and my bro went to kennedale texas to drag 1/8th mile. We took 55 gallons of alky and enough oil to mix 48 gallons. We only made 7 passes each due to rain out but we burnt 10 gallons of alky between the both of us in those 7 passes.. now dont forget we did have to warm them up and run time in between the passes but still, it goes quick.

run a standard plug gapped at .017 run supertechniplate or castor 927, i prefer supertechniplate run atleast 7 degrees timing get a pingle valve run 5/16 fuel line drill your gas tank cap vent hole out as big as it will go you have to have your carbs converted to run alky, not worth it on stock carbs if you ask me be prepared to purge your system every time you put it up for the night
-
hell yeah sounds good to me. Travis mentioned something about spring hill and the tires. Im game, im hungry now though thanks to your sig....
-
Thanks jimmy! We both had a blast and would love to all meet up again and race sometime but with the way things are going to be changing here in about a month i doubt it will happen. We were both anxious to see how it ran with your tires as well. We are gonna go racing this wednesday night at our local track if the weather is good. We are gonna break 7 sometime!
-
yeah it is kinda funny about the cam and two stroke thing, thats clever. Thanks for the help, im excited about working for them and also getting into asphalt draggin a little more.
-
ran my best time on asphalt tonight at kennedale texas. Very happy but upset that rain made us leave early. Me and my brothers times just kept improving, tryingt to get used to the fact that you cant just dump the clutch. Best i ran was a 7.1 and 1.61 60ft time David (my brother) ran a 7.5 with 1.71 60ft time. David had problems with traction, he didnt have any  but till very pleased with 358cc oem cylinder. We are pretty confident that with more seat time and correct setup and better tires we could both break 7.

290 as you see it below. Thats ready to run. No bar though

Im going to be graduating college on May 9th and I start my job on May 18th. I am going to be working for Comp Cams in Memphis Tennessee. Im very excited about the opportunity but im scared as shit to move away from my family and friends that im very close to. Im gonna be little over 7 hours from them. I was just seeing who all lives in Memphis, or close. I know Travis does and im pretty good friends with him but just seeing if anybody else did. I plan on getting into drag racing a lot more serious now that im going to have a full time job, probably gonna go asphalt though. Maybe we could meet up and race some. Thomas
