  1. I run T6's with K&N pod filters. I live around 3200 ft and run 330's. A 280 was way too lean.
  2. Is the air temp the same as it was when it started easy? If it is warmer outside you may be flooding the motor. You said you can hold the throttle wide open and it starts in 3 kicks. This is something I have always done when the motor is flooded. I would clean that carb out and get it running. After you have warmed it up check the tunning on the carb. If it is tuned for cold weather it won't run the greatest in warm temps.
  3. If I am reading your post right, you say you are turning the screws on the tors boxes. The screws on the tors box adjust your idle. You need to be able to see down into the carbs to set your idle right. Take of whatever filter setup it has and look down into the carbs. You can press the thumb throttle and see the slides moving. First, set the slides with the tors screws so that the move at the same time when you hit the throttle. Next get the bike up and running. With it running set your idle with the tors screws, remember to move each one the same amount or it will be off again. You can then fine tune your idle with your air screws on the sides of the carb.
  4. Live at 3200 ft, it's about 90 deg, mods include: Clamp on K&N's, Noss head with 21cc domes, T6's, timing advance +4, V Force 3's. I am currently running stock carbs with the needle in the middle, 310 mains, and 25 pilots. Does this sound about right?
  5. Depends on what type of porting you have and where you are racing. The best way to learn how to beat him is to go out and race him. Good luck
  6. It depends on rider ability and how far you are racing and where you are racing. The predator stock vs banshee stock in 300ft race in sand is a good race. But no one really cares who is faster stock, or at least I dont.
  7. So it just comes out, ill give it a try.
  8. Got the nut off the bolt that goes through the swingarm but I cant get the bolt to come out. Is there a trick to getting it out?
  9. Pingle is a type of fuel valve. If you are pulling the choke out and it runs better either you have a clogged jet or you have an air leak.
  10. Are there any aftermarket shift drums out there that provide a smoother shift?
  11. Isnt the shift cam the part under the gears that the shift forks follow?
  12. I would try some 310's and check your plugs.
  13. You can get a good port job and hang with him if he is using stock carbs and fmf pipes. The cubs produce a lot of power but so can some stock ported cylinders. With the right port job, carbs, pipes, you could beat him.
  14. You can run the cubs with stock carbs, you just wont get near the power you would if you had some 35 pwk's. The FMF pipes will work also but you will do way better with some pipes like shearer. If he wants to keep the stock carbs, save up your money, buy some cubs, and put the right stuff on and smoke him and see what he says then.
  15. Using stock gearing ona banshee, what chain size should my friend order for his +4 swinger? Also, what all is invloved in removing the parking brake. Is it just the block off plate or is there some wires that need to be unplugged or cut?
  16. If you can start in second gear. To keep the front down practice a little. You should shift when you are at the end of the gear.
  17. If you are never going to see any mud then I would just get some K&N clamp on filters. I got the kit from magic racing and it came with the filters, outerwares, and bottle relocater for 89 bucks I think. It makes it a lot easier to change jets and looks good also
  18. Which connection is positive and negative on a stock coil?
  19. Right now mine has the orange wire towards the front of the bike and the black towards the rear. Does switching the wires make a difference in power. I read that in Bens jetting facts he recomends jetting up a mian jet size if you switch them around.
  20. I just dabbed some grease on my finger and rubbed it al the way around the o-ring and have had no problems.
  21. Im running 320 mains right now, 25 pilots, and needle clip on 4th position and my plug still looks a little rich. I am going to try 27.5 pilots and the needle on the 3rd clip to see if it makes a difference.
  22. I would take out your air filter and look down into your carbs and see if one of your slides is hung open. Maybe when ideling the right side is getting too much air to run, then when you pull the choke out the left side is getting too much fuel. Just a thought
  23. It runs good, just wondering what some opinions were. What are some others running with a toomey needle?
