Baseball to me is boring to watch on TV (unless it's playoffs) but fun to play and great to watch in person at the stadium. Nothing like a ball park and a beer in the stands on a sunny day! Hockey is easy for us Detroit folks, we're born with it, it's all around us and our Hockey team is very successful. It kind of balances out our perfect season, 0-16 Lions. But remember, they were 4-0 in preseason...so they were the preseason champs!!! LOL

Yeah right... You don't watch football, you just watch the Cowboy's cheerleaders....LOL
-
That's interesting...I did not know the Havoc guys did porting, I only knew they did polishing and very nice chassis work. It's always good to see Jeff, Jer and Linds at the dunes and the track. (At the go carts too...lol)

I would honestly wait and do it all at once. Why remove the TORS when you're gonna buy new carbs once you put a stroker crank and get it ported anywho? I would unplug all the tors, so mechanically/electrically they don't function, but I wouldn't buy the removal kit....F that. Have you thought about a better clutch, longer swingarm, gearing and a longer chain for all this new found power?

I'm disappointed yet surprised to see this. I am a dealer, but to be honest...I haven't sold anything in a while, it's race season here and I'm busy. His policy has been work with your dealer whom you bought it from. The grooves on the basket are what get me the most. I have a 4 year old magnum basket that has been put through the ringer, and it doesn't look like that. That's a lot of wear for a nearly new basket. I know he's been going through some tough times, this economy's been tough on a lot of folks. But not returning your call in a timely manner....there's just no excuse for that. Out of curiosity, who did you buy the basket from and did you try and resolve this with them? (Unless you got it direct from BOSS) I'd like to see how your new basket holds up compared to this one. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your motor at all, but that basket looks like it's been in there for years based on how it's worn!!

ATF Type F and Engine Ice. I only use water in my cooling system, antifreeze can trash nikasil in a plated motor, but...engine ice should do you fine.

so which pipe is really the best?!
dajogejr replied to Badasshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Both pipes fit like shit... I'll take Shearers for a drag bike and CPI for a duner... Although I've run CPI on my drag bike in a pinch, and they worked just fine. -
Your trans oil and the combustion chamber are 100% separate. Remove the right side of the motor where the clutch is at. Start there.
-
You went from a stock head to 19cc domes? Are you running higher octane gas? And I agree...you pinched an oring. If it's leaking in the combustion chamber, you're asking for a blown motor. If it's just leaking up a stud or through a water jacket...it needs to be replaced soon...or it'll overheat and break/warp parts.

HJR did my 10 mil cub and I"m very happy so far. Epoxy in the case is more about directing air flow more efficiently than it is reducing the volume.

Put real mufflers on...and take it to a shop for a diagnostic test

If this is CFM as in Checkered flag motor sports, you guys need to read up on his history. He's screwed quite a few people in the past, took quite a few people dragging him through the mud in a public forum before he contemplated doing the right thing, and of course it came with all the excuses. Dog ate my payment, divorcee and lose half my shit, business partner screwed me....hang nail, you know...the usual.

Get to tuning... I got 84.8 from a cleaned up 421 with stock carbs and T5 pipes....no lockup. Kevin, Since it's your porting, what do you think about having someone else cut domes, etc. Once you run alky, you'll never go back. However, for a duner, IMO it's a waste. Hill shooter or drag bike, fine...but for duning, it's a waste. A dyno is good for comparing mods...that is it. That number doesn't equate to crap in the dunes or on the track. I've seen bikes come hot off the dyno fall on their face at the track...like I've said before, the lights and timers dont' lie!

Could very well be a broken clutch fiber. Stop riding it, as said.. When it comes to repairs. Pay a little now, or a lot more later.
-
No offense, but I'd like to know what the real problem was... I hate to put words in other's mouths...but Dan Hull of A&S builds some of the fastest bikes on the planet. That is a non-disputable fact. On a smaller motor, he'd tell you they are a waste, both on his own personal bike and customer bikes as well. I would see straight cuts as a last mod (in other words, other essentials are already on the motor) or a stepping stone for a bigger motor...

Ha ha ha... That's ok...we've got more than enough Stanley cups to be proud of. More than anyone else in the last two decades as well....we're fine with that. How did we get what was coming to us??
-
Should be a good turn out. This is a good hooking track that guys can run the numbers on. Plenty of parking and access for all. C'mon out and have a good time and make some money. Honestly, guys... You do NOT have to have a 3 second drag bike to have fun. My bike broke last week and I raced out pit bike blaster in some gamblers races. A bone stock blaster.... Any bike you have is capable of winning, last year at the Show me the money a bike with an override and mild porting, no wheelie bar and inframe pipes took home all the money. Anyone can win, everyone will have fun. Hope to see you there.

I was out of town at a race...sounds like I didn't miss too good of a game being a wings fan. Pens flat out were hungrier, wanted it more and got it. Congrats to them. With Bettman on their side, they could probably pull off 2 or 3 more wins in a row....
-
Is it jetted correctly and float set properly? If so... Gearing changes, porting, or ride in a higher gear to keep the motor on the pipe.
-
The problem with that is now they went from Chrome to looking like stainless steel, and they're not shiny. The key is to get off the rust but leave the chrome shiny/gleaming still. I've had the best luck with WD50, a very, very fine scotchbrite pad and some NeverDull to polish them up. Neverdull is wadding in a can and I swear that can will last forever!

BOSS NOS nitrous kit complete for a banshee
dajogejr replied to dajogejr's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Correct. The NOS is sprayed via the back of the air filters and the fuel enrichment is sprayed via injectors you tap into the intakes. Here is the kit, along with all the info you need to know about how BOSS NOSS systems work. http://www.boss-noss.com/sand2/systems/sys...mp;ProductID=17 -
Ditch the single carb setup... That large a carb on that small an engine is hurting it. Get more aggressive porting, get a better top end pipe like a CPI.
-
I have the Magnum basket going on it's 4th season of abuse in my bike right now...still going strong.
-
15cc domes at or near sea level will hurt performance AND shorten engine life. With that much compression, the motor will be fighting itself at higher RPMs....it might be able to rev out, but it won't pull much past the midrange RPMs....
-
Stocker will hold just about anything you can throw at it once welded and trued properly. 15cc domes is asking for trouble...at your elevation.
