I guess when BHQ wasn't knocking down his door with this evolutionary new idea...he packed up and split. 6 days on the HQ...what a damn shame, that product had such potential.... Oh well...

Fine point Cody... the oil can settle at the bottom of the tank and that's exactly where the valve is. A good 10-15 seconds of shake before a ride is a good thing...even though you look like a retard doing it...LOL.
-
That's kinda like comparing horse shit to dog shit.
-
Run the same amount of oil you're normally going to use. I can promise you with 100% certainty, 20 ft. lbs or 22 ft. lbs won't make a bit of difference. I torque mine down in sequence all at 15, then 20 then 22.
-
So...you retorque the head to 25-30#s even though spec is 20 to 22...but you don't use a wrench so you're not sure if they're torqued properly? Do you use a torque wrench at work? Why would you take the cap off? Don't you want to build pressure in the cooling system as well as allow the bike to heat up? You realize that by removing the radiator cap, the system can not get as warm (pressure allows the boiling point to rise vs. a non sealed, non-pressurized system) Guys (not pointed at you AK) running more oil during break in is not only unnecessary, it's a bad idea. The whole point of break in is to file the rough edges off the ring and cylinder to make them "square" to seal against each other. More oil makes it difficult for this to happen, causing cylinder glazing and improper ring seating. It can also gum up the ring lands...making the rings stick and not press against the cylinder. That's a bad picture...but there is either way too much oil, or too much fuel in the fuel/air mixture (jetting). Did you notice any white smoke? Plugs look white? When you released the radiator cap, was the coolant level low? If there are signs of antifreeze being burned...take the cylinders off, take the studs out and put the deck of the cylinder on a surface plate to check for flatness. Take the domes out of the head, do the same. There is simply no way that piston crown should look like that after such a short time. It's either an oil problem or a fuel/air mixture....that piston should be clean and carbon free...or a VERY minimal amount of carbon build up...

2 T-MOBILE PHONES FOR SALE
dajogejr replied to 4strokekilla1987's topic in For Sale - Non Banshee Related
Word of advice for ya... Call T Mobile, tell them you're going to be traveling and you want to get the phone unlocked. Then sell it as a clean/unlocked phone on Ebay. You'll get A TON more for it. -
LOL... All good. By the way...there's a strong rumor the Iphone will be available for Verizon in 2010. Their exclusive contract with ATT is at/near the end. Obviously, they'll have to change the GSM to CDMA...but that's a drop in the bucket for Apple. Can you imagine an Iphone on the best network in the country? I would entertain the idea...but...I gotta tell you, blackberry does email that well for a corporate customer. Even though the Iphone does email, it still has a Windows/Mobile Sync feel/flavor to it, not like the Blackberry!!

"4th....I'm not trying to sell my product to you guys..." Really? Sales pitch, detailed pricing including a "deal of the century" if you get more than one done. And a website???? This isn't trying to sell us anything? You are a small business owner? Good luck with that. I'm glad Subarus are your thing, cause in the banshee world you've already failed. Oh and your third point...you're not shipping plastic in a box for 100 bucks both ways. Can't be done. the box you need is too big, and it's the size of the box that costs the money, not the weight. But you being a business owner, you already know that I'm sure. So if it cost you 225 and 100 to ship both ways...that's still 325. You think this market has room for 300% markups on stuff? If it did....I'd drop what I do for a living and just join in that band wagon. Hell...this would be a wall street hit in no time with all the economists praising this stuff.... Just because you're a business owner doesn't mean you're a smart one or a good one at that. You don't need to come on here and ridicule our members for not liking what you did. As a business owner, do you always handle criticism this well? I bet your customer support is legendary... "what...you don't like the work, well Fuck off..." Good luck on that business, you're truly an innovator and captain in the industry!

If you post on here what do you think, be prepared for positive and negative comments. Not to mention, you yourself say you'll never pay 400 bucks to do something like this for your bike, but yet you are asking others to do just that? (Like I said, 225 for the work, easily 50 to 75 shipping each way, possibly more). You're not doing yourself any favors. Not to mention, if you were selling something off the shelf that was yours, you'd be fine. But you're advertising yourself as a business...so why don't you plop down the cash and become a site sponsor if you think your product is so innovative? Otherwise....Craigslist is free. Advertising here is not.

I was thinking the same thing....beat me to it. I think this thread has the possibility of turning ugly...real fast. But, you put something out there for others to comment on, you like it or hate it. Oh well...
-
No offense, but have you ever shipped plastic back and forth? For 225 for the coating, shipping to you and back from you....400 is very easily what you'll have in it. I'd rather rattle can a set of plastics or use plastic renew.... that shit is great for truck beds, and I have a small 8X10 trailer I'm thinking of getting the floor and the first 3-4 inches of the walls off the floor done in... I just don't like it on plastics, sorry...my opinion.

Aha...was not aware the Tour was shipped with 5.x. I have a BES server at work. I can tell you that it's amazing. You don't have to worry about Shit... If you lose a phone, you kill the device, this causes the phone to get wiped if it's turned on, remotely. Literally....wiped to factory spec. Then you activate your new one, and all your email, text, address book, calendar...everything, all there. It even sets up your icons the way you had it, etc.

Once you get a trackpad, you won't look back at a track ball. I had my 8330 Curve since February. I got my Curve 8530 Wednesday last week. It has ups and downs, it's a solid phone... The only things the Tour has on it is world capable phone, bigger screen and a better camera with flash. They Curve 8530 share the same processor, amount of memory...and the Tour is on the older 4.X OS. Wait till you put the 5.X OS on the phone. Worlds better...the 8530 has the 5.X OS just like on the Storm, but the 8530 actually works...LOL. You can find a leaked/hybrid 5.X for the Tour on crackberry.com I'm sure.

Big Box of Banshee Parts $100
dajogejr replied to atvaddiction's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Put all that on ebay. Someone might need a few stock parts. Good luck. -
Not every time, Mr. Germain. Some OEM needles have that weird NXXX number. Here's a chart to decipher: http://www.keihin-us.com/am/_media/pdf/pwk-pj_jetneedles.pdf

Nice work as usual JD!!

One outlet just can't flow as much as two. I have a used pingle for a stock banshee gas tank. I got it in trade...never put it on. You want it? 60 bucks shipped, add 3% for paypal. PM me if you're interested. For Olds hill that's a long run on a 421 with stock fuel valve and stock bowls. I drill my vent hose out of the gas cap (and remove the check ball assembly as well)
-
Ask HJR what he recommends. CEL and DEK are popular needles for those motors over here. We've run 45 to 50 pilots in those carbs for gas.
-
I might have one of those, top and adjuster, in the garage. I'll check. I don't want a dime for it...just pay Fed Ex Shipping...

thinking about selling or parting whats it worth
dajogejr replied to bansheefreak89's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Yeah, Nick... I'm not trying to be a dick with the pricing. I just have a pretty decent feel for the market, and right about now it's the shittiest it's been in a long time!! I thought about selling mine and starting a new project, it's just not worth it at this time. -
I wouldn't waste the money. And that's no knock against Rudy, he's always built fast shit. I just don't think the TRex are worth putting that kind of cheddar into considering there are bolt on cylinders just as good, IMO...with more common pistons, parts, etc.
-
Fucker, beat me to it. Don't be stealing all that "Pungent" Sex Panther, it kinda burns the nostrils.

In today's market...3500 to 5500, depending on where you are located. That bike may fetch 5ish over on the west coast. Here in my area, midwest, 4k tops. In a better market for selling, maybe 20% more. One thing is for sure, a HELLUVA lot less than what you got into it. Nice looking bike! -
Let HJR tell you what to run and Kevin will also tell you your compression ratio.

Greg, any chance a stud or two was a little tweaked? Only reason I ask is because I had the same issue on my cub. It fit, but it was snug going on. Later on I ended up replacing all the studs with brand new, OEM studs. The head slid right on. I think the Chariot very well might have tighter specs on the stud holes because it doesn't use orings on the studs, just brass washers and acorn nuts to seal. I could be wrong, I never did measure my old Noss head.
