  1. Depends on how fast you want them back. You're in peak season...so, it's probably gonna take a while. I like Jeff @ FAST. He's severely backed up. Jim at Passion is another favorite around here. However.... Since you're from Michigan, hit up R&B racing. I've seen some of Bob's port work...and it's pretty good and WAY hard to beat for the price. Helluva nice guy, too. I rode a bike with his porting, and it was impressive. You can PM him here, machwon is his name. Or call him @ 517-388-3662 I think he's in the Lansing area....or so.
  2. Leakdown test is your next check. Also...a compression test if you haven't already gotten that done.
  3. If you've already rode it for a 1/2 tank of gas....it's already broken in. However, I wouldn't tear it down to weld the crank...then tear it down later to do your engine mods. Do them all at once. I completely agree the stock crank needs to be welded. But if it's brand new...and you have mods up coming, and it's 100% stock right now....I'd wait and do it all.
  4. Please tell me someone will have a low pressure tire gauge on them.... I ruined mine in an attempt to make a leak down tester....and can't find my other one... I'm gonna try to remember to buy one Friday...but, you know how that goes.... Pray for weather like today...70s and sunny will be perfect. I borrowed a friend's video camera...so, it's gonna be a great day for sure!!!
  5. Thank you, my point precisely... similar skill, similar weights...stock 450 will beat a stock shee with a head on it....
  6. I pm'd back and forth with him on PS last night, kinda late....(since HQ was up and down pretty much yesterday and early this AM)....so, he's probably taking a nap...LOL.
  7. They are on PS right now for 350 plus shipping....
  8. Free bump, great pipes...great guy. Cam... I always use imageshack.us to upload and host pics, then you just copy and paste the link in the forum. I made a quick one or two page word document on how to easily shrink photos, and post them on the net if you'd like it. PM me your email addy...I will get you the document....
  9. Oko are ebay Keihin PWK knock offs...with mixed reviews. Some swear by 'em...others say they're garbage. Luck of the draw I guess. Their cheap pricing point is the selling point... You must be a better rider, or have a one in a million freak motor...or weigh 150LBs less than the guy on the 450. A banshee with ONLY a cool head will still lose to a bone stock, out of the box 450....
  10. Honestly...wait to drag port it. It is already drag ported from the factory....if the jug is already cleaned up (intakes and transfers are cleaned up) just get it replated. I can clean up the cylinder for you if not. And if you want...I can port match the cases, I just need the top half. Up to you.... In my opinion...after a good clean up port, you can probably get a 3 to 7% increase in HP with a drag port...from the right guy. Jeff being one of them. What makes a cub so good is the porting out of the box, the casting flaws and flashings just need to be dealt with... If this is gonna be your duner, don't get drag porting....leave it as is, get a modest compression...170 to 190, and give it a lot of timing. Also...you absolutely MUST check squish on these cubs. I recommend .040 to .050.... My old 4 mil cub on gas was a great motor....
  11. Before I tried anything else...this would be my first shot...
  12. USA from PS is meeting me at my house to follow me out. I'm hoping to be there by 9 or 9:30 AM the latest. I need as many test and tune passes as I can possibly get... Whole new setup....
  13. You're talking about the LT450...pipe, filter and Cherry Bomb...that's about right. Pipe, air filter and CDI for any of the newer 450s (06 or 07) and you're right there, too. Now you know why I say a bolt on 450 will beat a bolt on banshee most of the time....
  14. 2000 to 5000 feet is a big change. You're gonna have to figure something out. My advice is if you don't want to mess with anything too much, leave it spot on for 2000...and you're just gonna lose power the higher you go, and the jetting will get richer and richer....and keep some spare plugs. Another thing you could do is install power jets on the carbs. it's a drag racer item, but can also be used to add/remove fuel from the mid to main circuit in extreme temps or elevation changes. It's basically an externally adjustable valve (or jet) that you open to flow more fuel, close for less. You could get your bike jetted spot on for the higher elevation with the power jets closed, then as you descend...open the valves up for more fuel flow.... Or you could just get fuel injection...LOL... Seriously...with that much elevation...you could probably shave .020 to .030 off the head and be fine with pump fuel, granted if the jetting is correctly done!!
  15. No way in hell I'd pay 700 bucks for a set of pipes. I won't even pay that for silenced, chrome big bore drag pipes.... Get a set of used T5 pipes, or used FMF Fatty pipes and you'll be in great shape. Don't forget to open up the air box a little too... If you ride in a lot of mud and water, remove the lid and snorkel.... If you only ride in dry weather, remove the airbox all together... And as always, rejet the carbs accordingly...
  16. well guys...I hate to break it to you, but I guess you can get a dyno to read just about anything you want it to... The numbers in are only as good as the person controlling it and numbers they put in. Stock banshees are 35 to 38HP max. That's it. And being he's at 3000 feet, he's not getting 45 with just bolt ons. Now you can probably go find a dyno that will tell you a stock banshee will put out 50HP...but it's not... And...I might add, the best use for a dyno...is comparing mod vs. mod for the same bike, as long as the testing methods and fuel/air are the same in similar weather, etc. It is what it is guys....I just hate to see you shoot for a big number, then get beat by a guy with a smaller number, or...hope for a big number and be disappointed when you get the readout.
  17. Yeah, this hill billy is alright by me.

Always include FBT (Fat boy treats) with your payment for the real racer's discount. Keep up the good work buddy!!! Daj..

  18. I'd get 3 HD springs, 3 stock springs and alternate them. Should be ok. I hope you're running race gas being at sea level with 16cc domes....sheesh...
  19. Yep...it'll chip...
  20. It'll hold up fine to the elements, if it's gonna get smacked with rocks and/or branches, stumps, brush...etc., bad idea, it will chip off.
  21. Yeah, I hear ya... I got lucky two vehicles in a row, that's why I leased this one. If I had to have warranty work, I'd demand a pickup truck...fuck that. I'm not trailering anything...I'm just throwing my shee in the back of the truck...maybe JT can help...or someone else around here.
  22. It's all good.... And I already know it's gonna take some time. I'm not really worried about the alky, to be honest...I'm worried about hooking up and gearing... Should be fun.
  23. Oh boy....here we go. Memory serves me correct, as soon as that little bitty 4 mil went to booze, you got 2-3 runs out of it before it went boom boom. And that was most of last year....until the end. (And a few trips to the platers, to boot...) I think I'm at least ahead of that curve...LOL... Yeah, it'll be nice to put some times down and hopefully it holds together so I can tune her a bit... I know my launching is gonna be all fucked up for starters.... Should be a good time. You get the skinny on that methanol, JT???
  24. You just keep on proving what an ass clown you are. Keep bragging about running from the cops riding illegal roads....you keep on showing your stupidity and child-like mentality... For someone that is supposedly so smart, you sure have no common sense or even a hint of a clue... Thanks for giving the rest of us a bad name, and then coming on here to brag about it on top of that. You're truly an ass clown...
  25. I threatened to turn off his Sponge Bob video...he didn't like it apparently.
