  1. Yeah, you're talking about a dirt bike that has half the weight and over 40HP to the rear wheel, BONE STOCK... With a good rider on the bike, it's gonna take some porting to beat one, or a cub cylinder done up right....
  2. Threebond 1104 is the same as yama or honda bond. use it for the case halfs. Please don't use it for the clutch cover.... Gasket and any RTV....
  3. That, my friend...is exactly why I asked him to measure squish... That "+2mm" of squish would be a tell tale sign...
  4. I think you should measure a few things first... Measure ring end gap. Measure piston to wall clearance, and most importantly, measure squish.
  5. As long as that gasket material is oil/grease proof, I don't see why not...
  6. I can't believe I missed this post....sheesh... Too early for me to think of a comeback...
  7. Note to self, don't take Shane on a hunting trip...EVER... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  8. Two ways, and either way the flywheel is trashed. weld the puller onto the flywheel, or use a 3 jaw puller. either way, the flywheel is trashed...
  9. That's how bracket racing works...the slower bikes leave first so....I'll catch a glimpse of it.... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Just Bring IT!!!!!
  10. Longer swinger and longer bar probably Brad...
  11. I've run the K&N knockoff filters for two years, no issues...and saved some moolah too.
  12. Looking forward to seeing it at the track and/or the dunes....
  13. Yeah, i run benoil @ 28:1 in my purge as well as my gas.... It's only running the bike for a minute or two...just to clean the lines out, keep the walls and bearings inside flushed from the meth. Hell, I might switch to 24:1 in my meth and purge oil... But, I'm gonna probably burn up some golden spectro I have sitting on the fence for my weed eater and chainsaw.....50:1...
  14. I can tell you first hand that is bad info and a bad idea.... I had 110 and R50 as my purge gas. R50 is NOT compatible with methanol. Purging with that would gum my carbs up bad, to the point the floats/needles would stick if I didn't clean the carbs out afterwards...gummed them all up. I switched to benoil for my purge, and carbs are just fine, clean.... Now...I'm probably going to switch to super t for my methanol and purge fuel, but it is very important to use alky compatible premix in your purge fuel....it's gonna mix some in the bowls.... I'd normally purge at the track (Saturday or Sunday) and by Tuesday or Wednesday...I'd take the carbs all apart to clean them. So, it's not like I let the purge gas sit in them forever.... No...my weed easter starts 2 - 3 pulls, no problem. When it's warmed up...you give it gas...and it takes a while to build up RPMs... After looking at my plug, I know why....
  15. Bike might be sold...he's got a promise of a money order....
  16. If you are gonna ride muddy or wet trails, leave it as is. If you're gonna ride dry area and dunes, put pods on. It is SO nice to loosen two hose clamps, slide the filters off and get to your carbs vs. having to wrestle with an air box and the boots. Remember to jet a few sizes richer, as well. Start with 3...work your way down if needed....
  17. I've been thinking about switching to super techniplate for my alky bike.... Mainly cause I ride in the cold. I run 110 octane and benoil for my purge, as well as my weed eater and chain saw. I gotta take a pic of the plug I pulled out of my weed eater yesterday....it looks like absolute shit....
  18. I wish I had your problems.... It's too cold for sand tracks, and the water hasn't given a second thought about freezing yet... I can tell you this, I need to move, put my bike in storage or quit smoking. I don't smoke in my house, so out I go to the garage...light up...and just sit there looking at my bike. Drives me absolutely nuts.... Let me know what I can do to help ya out....
  19. So...you're a Nitrous dealer now? Good stuff... Where are these 20+ HP bikes running at, I'd like to know.....and I'd like to see one in person.
  20. No need...they are all the same part number. Before you go tearing into the engine, are you 100% sure the carbs weren't sticking? hate to see you tear it all apart for something like a sticking carb, etc....
  21. Around here....500 to 800 ft above sea level, normal riding temps...60 to 80 degrees, with an airbox and the lid on, 310 or 320 is too much main...but as said, every bike is different. I'd say you're almost spot on, if not a little rich... Piped bikes I've worked on with NO lid on a K&N Filter I ended up with a 270 to 290 main. Here's how you dial your main in. You can't be too far off.... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html
  22. He is a good buddy of mine, helped me last year and this year get my cubs sorted out and running very good. Bottom line is he bought it off a buddy in a bind, put a little time and effort into it, put a new tranny in it, rebuilt a crank, trued, welded...fresh top end. He bought it to fix and make a buck off it to sell it. He parts out a lot of stuff, sells a lot of motors, but this bike is too pretty and complete to part out. He said he'd sell it for 5500 shipped. It rips...we took it to the track, it welded a ball/pushrod (he didn't have a pancake bearing laying around) so he took the ball/rod out and put a pancake bearing in it. He put gas carbs back on, but will put alky carbs back on...whatever the buyer wants. The paint job is from Kandy Shop in MI, and he does some nice work.... You could ride it as is for a nice duner, or could slam it to the ground and use it as a drag bike...either or. I would love to have this bike as a dune banshee, I already have a drag bike...and don't have the coin to pick it up. It is 99% done...the ONLY thing I'd put on it is a billet ignition cover to replace the stock black plastic one. That is strictly a cosmetic thing, otherwise....this bike is chrome, polished billet or Powder coated. What else would you like to know about it??? He wants to off the bike, but doesn't want to give it away...he bought it to move it quick...
  23. Go 2.5 turns out...just for giggles...
  24. Pull the ignition cover...as said.
  25. Does it make the noise if the clutch is pulled in or let out??
