  1. As Promised, two new sets of acorn nuts and ALL new washers too arrived to me today, as well as the new reed cages and intakes as well. Very nice stuff. Sorry, crappy pic for a camera phone, but...these things are die hard heavy duty!!!!
  2. What size pilots... To be honest, not very many people run stockers on alky...the guy that sold them to you on PS can probably give you better direction...
  3. I've been working on and off on my cub cylinder...what a PITA... But, worth it, if I ever get done...LOL. Your work looks pretty good for a newbie!! I have all new respect for guys that do this all the time, it's time consuming big time.
  4. I think the TORS kick ass...If I still had mine, I'd polish them...or chrome them.
  5. There is a gay hobit joke in there somewhere, it's just too early for me....lol.
  6. Somebody call the cops cause someone RAPED those intakes....sheesh.... That would make me more than nervous.
  7. Got any pics? My buddy is looking for a few 4 mil cranks.
  8. yep...not a hot commodity...leave it...
  9. Nature of the beast.... With that much more compression, the pistons are fighting each other at max RPMs. You could back off the timing a hair...but, you have to ask yourself, is it worth losing the better acceleration for 2MPH? Or...take two teeth off the rear sprocket. It will pull taller gearing now. Your choice. Normally, with timing or compression changes you don't have to change jetting. But...as a disclaimer, just about any bolt on mod will tell you to check jetting. Get a good WOT run with new plugs and check for a nice brown smoke ring at the base of the porcelin. If you've got the smoke ring, you're ok....
  10. Nope...you're all good. If I'm not mistaken, the 35 to 39 use the same body, and 35's can be bored to 39, as well...
  11. I think with porting, a 4 over swinger that 9 paddle will be perfect. It might be a little too much for a stock swinger...but, then again, maybe not. The link didn't work, but I assume they are 9 paddle haulers?
  12. Mel...have you thought about a longer swingarm? Maybe you wont' have so much weight transfer to the rear tires.... 16 tooth up front is gonna be tricky on a sticky track, these motors like to spin and keep the R's up. You're getting so much traction, you will have to learn to slip the clutch out very slowly to keep the R's up. PM tedder. He uses a dual stage clutch for pavement with very good luck...maybe he can help.
  13. How long is your swingarm. Your weight. You drag race more, or do you want to dune more? Is it ported? (Hope so) Straight edge Paddles are the way to go for straight line, V paddles turn better. Depending on what's done to your bike, swingarm length, etc....that will give us a better idea on paddles.
  14. Word... I've never personally seen or know anyone that has run a CFM...so, sorry!! But, we ride with Jeff and have seen his stuff first hand....top notch.
  15. IMO...that's pig fat for the main...it's muddy in the middle and off the bottom. He's got CEL needles, he double checked, but 55 pilots. I told him to try 48 pilots, 1.0 to 1.5 out on the screw....see if that cleans it up. He said it pulled clean and strong on top....
  16. A few things. A light (very fine) scotchbrite pad will probably get that off. So will Never-dull, with some serious elbow grease. Get the T6. When you get them, list out ALL your mods, rider weight, elevation, temps....and I can get you close on jetting. You will get a better fitting pipe, better looking, better performance and better sounding. It's a total win-win for you, and you won't be disappointed!!!
  17. Get 'em dune ported for a 4 mil crank, drop a 4 mil stroker crank in it.
  18. TB...HQ has been up and down the last few days....give him a day or two more...
  19. You need to disable ALL of the throttle sensors. The two on top the carbs, the brain under the gas tank, the wires going into the throttle, and the wires coming off the parking brake. Disconnect ALL of them.
  20. T6 would be a nice upgrade in performance, fit and finish from DG pipes. DGs are not great, but anything is better than stockers. You can still port a bike with T6 pipes....so I wish people would stop saying that. T6 pipes do not work ideal on aggressively ported cylinders, like dune or especially drag porting. For a light clean up, MX or trail port, they will work just fine. If you can trade DG pipes and pay 100 bucks for T6 pipes in nice, clean and undamaged shape, I'd do it in a heartbeat...
  21. That's another fine point. Unless it's a spotless blinged out drag bike, you're not gonna get much for it. Even then, people want it all for free... It's worth more parted out on fleabay.... I'm not saying to put it together half ass. I'm just saying why buy a cool head? that's 230 or so when you can buy a perfectly good stocker for 30 to 50....and it will work just fine to sell the bike. A new stroker crank is 500 or under. A perfectly fine stock crank with good bearings, etc goes for 150 or less.... That's all I'm saying... Not to half ass it, but not to go overboard...
  22. Get your stockers ported and get a 4 mil long rod stroker crank. You're not ready for a cub yet...
  23. Why on earth would you spend all that money on billet this, new that...etc. when you said you're gonna get rid of it TWICE in that post. Buy a used stock head, dime a dozen. Buy a used, welded stock crank. Get your cylinders bored. Get a stock kicker....that's just for starters. Why spend thousands to put a bike back right when you're only going to sell it...?
  24. Damn...you guys got it rough. I'm glad I'm the network admin at my work and I control the websense and any other content filter...LOL...
