  1. Sorry... You tap the intakes on your cylinder, just one is needed. The vacuum pulse created by the engine runs a pulse style fuel pump. Instead of relying on electrics, you use the motor's natural vacuum. In other words, if the motor is spinning, the pump is pumping fuel.... It's what a lot of alky guys run if they don't want to deal with a battery, etc.
  2. Honestly, If you're gonna run a LONG distance, say 500 feet or longer, then get a pump. And I wouldn't use electricity to run it....I like the pulse pump...simple.
  3. I come across alky carbs all the time....Let me know when you have a few hundred to shell out, I'll get you some. Keep in mind, you'll need a Dual feed pingle....or billet bowls.
  4. If you're sure the carbs are correct: slides in the right carbs float set correctly choke tube in place Then I'd agree...electrical. You can ohm the stator, ohm the coil leads...and shake the flywheel to listen for broken magnets inside. Issues like that when they warm up is normally an electrical problem. Do the two cheap fixes first. Replace the spark plug lead end caps, they're known to go bad. And check the flywheel gap to pickup clearance....
  5. nothing wrong with that. I just didn't want you going into this project thinking you were gonna make 20 HP more than they do stock, etc....that's all. Hell yes it'll be a fun tinker project, good practice for welding...and if you ruin them, you're really not ruining anything....
  6. Interested in the billet ignition side cover if it doesn't fly on flebay.
  7. Great... Just when I didn't have enough sites to visit while at...cough cough work....LOL. Since Nate isn't on PS much anymore, I'm thinking he's trying to get this site to take off...? I see some of the same mods as PS....
  8. Yeah, and he's got a picture of you next to the shower....what's that all about???
  9. If Evan doesn't take my bike, you can use my rear Marvin. It's stiff as a brick, and it's 12.5 inches eye to eye. I will find a way to get it to someone if my bike doesn't go without me.... Shayne.... If he uses your shaw...Brady or Frank always bring a filler station to the dunes. Get with them...they will take care of it. My shaw has 1500 PSI I believe.
  10. Check the squish.... Here's the problem. Dan sets up his motors a certain way. I know he's out of town, and you can't get a hold of him, but to be 100% honest, I'd wait. We could steer you easily in the 180 degree wrong direction compared to what and how he likes to run his setup. If he shaved .060 off, depending on how he cut and chambered the head, 130 PSI sounds low to me. Then again, if he ported the cylinders, depending on how he did them, that could be right. So while I'm strictly guessing, he will KNOW.... To be honest, I'd wait and set it up per his spec.
  11. Snifff....sniff....sniff....LOL. NO. Do not run alky on a single carb. You'd be better off converting stock carbs over to alky than running a 1 into 2 ...
  12. Unless you are looking for scrap metal to practice welding, (which...stock pipes happen to be great scrap metal to practice on) then don't waste your time. Look at any hand built pipe, or ever after market stamped, they flow better for a reason...and it's not because the reverse engineerd a stock pipe...
  13. 100% without a doubt. At least this year, and if I can build a chassis next year...a year after that. It just makes good power, and is a proven mill.... I simply can't afford to build a bigger motor every year....and I have as much fun as anybody out there!!!
  14. Yeah...whatever, Cheater..... LOL... J/K  I agree.. Too many people get caught up in BIG motors. A properly setup bike, motor, chassis, etc., will get you further than just motor alone!!!
  15. If he took 60 thou off the head? No....
  16. LIAR!!!!!!! For a stock stroke cub, it runs right on the heels and often beats my "lil old" 10 mil cub....LOL. It's too bad John Q can't duplicate that motor...it's amazing.
  17. Remove all the clutch plates and make sure none of the fibers are shattered.
  18. Use the same oil at the same ratio you do your other bikes on gas. What is the compression and timing on the cub?
  19. Seen and rode this motor myself. Very nice and reliable... He's just got the drag race bug, and...it's time to go bigger and faster...
  20. Yes. Advance the timing.
  21. I googled MC HAMMER looking for a certain song. and jackpot! look what i found.i been watching this loop for hours. http://www.thepounder.com/
  22. You can use any 4 mil crank. They say their crank because obviously, they want you to buy it. Cranks are universal until you start getting into bigger strokers with bigger rod ends, etc....
  23. Well...it goes a little something like this. If you have the time to tape ALL of the holes, nooks, crannies off...then you won't have any problems. However, you can tape the whole side off quicker. I mean...you're NEVER going to see it when it's running, so what's the point. Mine wasn't taped hardly at all, so I had gasket surfaces to clean, the hole where the kicker gear goes had to be filed/knifed out... Over a year now, I don't see flaking or chipping being an issue...I just don't see the point on something you're never gonna see...which would take more time to tape off a bunch of little things than it would be the whole side...all I'm saying. Don't get me wrong, Tate...that looks 100% bad ass!!!!! Great work!
  24. Yeah right...you've been happy ever since the news.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohjzVshK_nY
