  1. LOL you don't want the Shepard... she's psychotic. We've had Shepard before and never had one like her. I'm pretty sure the people who had her as a puppy either beat her or shot her with BB guns or something.
  2. Alright everyone the video is nearly finished!! I have gotten some feedback from Brandon (Mull Engineering) so far and hoping to hear from Jeff (F.A.S.T.) and Lee (Banshee HQ) here pretty soon. I
  3. Sorry I just saw this post and it had actually crossed my mind to look some people while I was there but just didn't get the time. I was in Fremont and San Jose. Anyway I wanted to give you all an update too. I heard back from Brandon but still waiting for the other 2 guys. Brandon gave me some good advise and I got all of those changes made last night. Hopefully I'll hear from Lee and Jeff here pretty soon and I can finally get a final product done. If I don't hear from them I will offer the disc up for anyone who wants it and make any other little changes at a later date. I'll be posting up a list of the people who get a free one for helping me out with the pictures here in the next day or two. Hang in there guys and thanks for your patience, it will be ready very soon!!
  4. My bikes brakes are all set up on the perch lever. I don't have a foot pedal at all. It's done with a diverter valve but I haven't been able to figure out the manufacturer. The guy who owned it before me put it on there. Look around for a diverter valve though or just go with the long banjo like previously mentioned.
  5. I hit it every day, kind of in an off season right now so I'm high on BF% but I've been into it for over 14 years. I worked for EAS for 6 years until we got bought out and laid off... FUCKERS! Best place I've ever worked for! I got laid off 2.5 years ago and I still have a stockpile of supplements..hehe! Oh maybe I didn't mention I was the Returns/Credits Manager...hehe
  6. check and see if your slides are in the wrong sides. Look for the little "ping" mark on the slides and be sure they are facing to the RIGHT side of the bike. Another way to check is to make sure the "cutaway" part of the slides on the bottom edge is to the REAR.
  7. Yep, here's the latest and as soon as I hear from Jeff, Brandon, and Lee. I'll have it available for sale. I will be starting a new thread for it in the Repairs and Mods section. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...45&start=45
  8. Because if he's like me, I might only take that nut out of there once or twice in the lifetime of the banshee and I don't really want to pay the cost of that tool from the dealer and also possibly need to order it etc. etc. when I can pay $10. down the street and get it done now...
  9. Yeah I'm sure they would.
  10. Hey guys another option is available at Home Depot and also at Harbor Frieght. They make this special socket set for plumbing and there is one in there that almost fits, it's a little loose and sloppy but it worked for me and they are really cheap. I bought mine for about $15. at home Depot but then found them at Harbor frieght for like $10.
  11. Anyone have a clutch center for a 1995 Honda CR250R?? Willing to trade some powder coating work for it!! My buddy needs it ASAP so he can go with us on a trip next weekend!! Anyone, anyone??
  12. Sure no problem, I should be able to have quite a few copies ready by the time those guys give their reviews so I'll be sure to go back through and find everyone who has already expressed interest and have their copies ready first. I'm thinking maybe by next weekend I can start getting them out if those guys are done watching it. I have to travel to California on business this week so won't be getting a whole lot done but that's why I got the vids sent out yesterday.
  13. Yeah with out a doubt you're simply out of sync is all. You need to remove your air filter so you can see inside the back of the carbs where the slides are and slowly adjust the screws on the caps as you very gently tap the throttle to make sure both slides begin to move at the same time. Do a search for carb syncing and you'll find a bunch of good info. It's included in my video that will be out in about a week or so by the way.
  14. Hey thanks guys! I think you'll enjoy it. I have all 3 copies sitting right here at my desk to be mailed off today so it won't be long!!
  15. Bump in case anyone missed this.
  16. Correct, just make sure you use some tapping oil when you tap them or you can break the tap off inside. NOT SO GOOD!
  17. Alright guys, I'm done with the rough draft burn so that Jeff (F.A.S.T), Brandon (Mull Engineering), and Lee (Banshee HQ) can finally take a look at them and let us all know what they think!! All I have to do is print the labels, burn their copies and mail them off. I should be mailing them off tomorrow. Here's the Chapter Lineup: Chapter I: Compression Testing Carb, Flywheel, & Stator Removal Motor Removal Motor Disassembly Chapter II: Shift Star Mod Powder Coating Brake Caliper Disassembly TORS Removal Chapter III: Crank Bearing Install Case Assembly Piston Install Chapter IV: Clutch Install Pancake Bearing Install Clutch Adjusting Billet Impeller Install Cool Head Install VForce Reeds Install (how to modify stock intake boot) Carburetors (showing all parts inside) Startup (starting Banshee after fresh rebuild) Leakdown Testing Plug Chop Procedure SPECIAL FEATURE (I think you might just like this chapter the best... )
  18. Check your hose and linkage tube that runs from the head down into the water pump on the clutch side. It's right up in front of your carbs.
  19. Ok yeah so now that you have known good coil on and if the stator tests out exactly within specs then I think the only other options are really going to be: >short in the harness somewhere >bad CDI (can't be tested) try switching out with a known good one >bad flywheel (not very likely but possible) >check for the wires up front under the tank that used to be plugged into the TORS brain box (2 wires that used to have a connector plug on the end) they should be connected to each other hmmm... trying to think of any other possibilities...
  20. Coils are tricky and sometimes can test bad when they are good... You might have a stator problem, did you test that carefully? Do you still have TORS?
  21. Sorry for the late response... I did use some of your pics and I also found a bunch myself so I'll post up the names of the people who's pics I used soon. I just finalized the vid last night and burned it to disc, I found a couple minor problems that I'm fixing tonight and then I'm mailing the discs off to those guys for review so hopefully they will have time to check them out this weekend or something.
  22. Yeah I've been there too... for quite a while I couldn't figure out why it was so hard to start and sometimes ran ok but sometimes like crap...
  23. Yeah it could be but you think so even when it ran fine a few times once started? To me it seems like the carb slides are in wrong or the idle circuit is way off. But yeah it could be electrical too I suppose
  24. Hey guys thought I would give you a little review on the Dual Gasser... I LOVE it and it's nice for switching over to twist for longer trail cruising but there is one little issue I have identified with it... I have been riding sand lately and it's been VERY windy so sand is blowing all over the place and it seems that some sand is making it's way into the thumb shaft where it enters the box and jambing up a little. What I'm noticing is some resistance now and then as I push the throttle. It hasn't caused it to stick "open" just when I go to push the throttle. After a couple blips it kind of clears out. Just lettn' ya know!
  25. Kinda seems like you have a fuel flow issue. You shouldn't have to drag it behind a car at all. Did you clean your carbs up real good? Also make sure you have good fuel flow from your fuel valve all the way to the carbs. Get new fuel lines etc. Could also be your idle circuit jetting or idle screws. Once it's running try pulling the choke and riding, if it runs better your idle circuit jetting is too lean. Another thing it could be is your carb slides could be in backwards, that will make it hard to start and run bad sometimes when it's running. Pull your carb slides out and look for a little "ping" mark on the side of the slides... that ping mark should face to the RIGHT side of the bike on both carbs.
