Ports are the shit as of opening up the engine getting the most out of it. But for $35.00 why the hell not advance the timing!? Just like Oilsmoke said, its all of the smaller mods added up that build the real screamer. It would be like saying, 'Well I have it ported now so I am just going to leave the factory exhaust because I have a port.' The way I look at it is- all of the smaller mods like- timing advance, reeds, exhaust, etc- is prep for porting. They all help in better performance in working with each other making the shee the ultimite screamer! Ok- I'll get off my soapbox now

The 450's are definitely fast. My bro on his yfz can keep up with me (not beat me) but he is not far behind me at all! We ride sand dunes only, I usually only beat him by 2 bike legnths if that. Although his is built a little more than others around here..... He has a yosh slip on, 44mm Lectron Carb, Pro flow intake. He just put a rev box on it too. I'm afraid for when he gets his cams. I better have my dune port by then!

This mod is a MUST! Especially for only $35.00 for a Ricky Stator Timing Plate. Might as well have your flywheel lightened while you have it off too.

You dont have to rejet for timing advance. The only time you need to rejet is if you add something thats allowing more air through the engine like, pipes, air filter, reeds, etc.

Did you have gas sitting in the carbs? If so, clean the carbs.
