  1. I unpluged the plugs that shredish suggested and it worked. So do I have to worry about the throttle sticking now with it unplugged. If so how much of a chance do I run with it sticking?

  4. I took off parking brake cable with the block off plate installed and I took all the levers off the handlebars. Now it just will idle. So what do I need to do.
  5. When I say that I don't have bottom end power I ment that at low rpm's their is a deffenit lack of power. It feels like maybe as good as stock or maybe just a little less power. Once you rev it up though no matter what gear your in it will haul. So when I take off in second I have to feather the clutch and keep rpms up or it will bogg down do to taller gearing. So yeah I guess it takes a little more finess to start out in second but as long as you keep it reved up then Im fine. Which brings me to my other problem of spinning to bad. Need to get some good tires and shorten swingarm.
  6. I just installed my sst's and I noticed that the right pipe is hitting one of the coolant hoses. Will this cause it to melt. Also the cables that have the wire on the outside for protection are hitting the bottom of the right pipe. Any suggestions.
  7. I have a 03 banshee black and red and I installed fmf sst's, 15 tooth front sprocket, k&n airfilter, and rejetted. I had a few problems when I rejetted as some of you may know because I put a post on about how I bent the mixture needle. Anyways, I got it fixed and my good as new banshee is fast as a MO FO. I extremely like the new feel of having a 15 tooth front sprocket because I don't have to shift as much. I found myself shifting down thing I was in second but I was already in first. As a matter of fact it is so much fast that my normal area that I get about 3/4 throttle in 6th gear before I could only get 3/4 in 5th gear now. It is awesome. I love taking off in second too. I love the sst's but I deffinetly notice a lack of bottom end. They pull extremely hard and good from 1/2 to full throttle. I am satisfied with the mods I have done and plan to do more in the future. I plan to put on a NOSS Head with 20cc domes. Will this help my bottom end a bit? I will ride more tommorow to get a better feeling but I would like to thank all the people on this site for helping me decide to go with 15 tooth gearing and all other help. Also I noticed that it spins so bad now so I will be sending my swingarm off to shorten it which I fully trust in all you guys advice on how much better it is. If you have any other helpful suggestions on how to help my bottom end then please respond. THANKS!
  8. The same 97 Rm 250 that I rode I raced just to see how much difference their was. I was supprised how well I kept up with him. I know that the engine was in good shape and runs good because of how it responds and how it sounds. Anyway I was on reserve when I raced him so that helped with the weight and he was a good rider. We raced about 250 yards. The first time I got him off the line and beet him but he was walking me down. The second time I got him again off the line but barely and he beat me. The third time we were dead even off the line and I kept neck and neck with him until about 3rd gear. He had about 3 quad links ahead of me. I was wondering if I could beat him or atleast give him a run for his money after I install my parts. I raced him with my 03 stock banshee. I am putting on k&n airfilter with lid off, fmf sst's, 15 tooth front sprocket and rejetting. Should I beet him in about the same distance or will he still eat me up after about 3rd gear.

  10. Really I just want to know general info on possibly the hole state. Where you live is fine though. Is Georgia mostly flatland or is it mountain like or what. I don't need details just a few nice places to ride. I am thinking of moving to maybe Rome georgia, Athens, Savannah or something like that.

  12. I had some AKTIVE reeds on my blaster and I loved them. Does anyone have them on their banshee or has anyone tried them. If not then which are best for crisp throttle response.
  13. Man I fouled up trying to rejet. My friend and I attempted to rejett but messed up. This was the first time I have ever tried to jet or rejet. I got the pipes on with no problems and followed all the instructions about draing fuel and everything. We took the gas tank off with no problem but we didn't pull the carbs all the way off. We tried to rejet straight from above. Is this correct, I feel we should have taken then completely off? Anyway when we got the carb top loose we pulled out the throttle valve and spring and we were trying to get the clip that holds the throttle cable loose but thats when we fouled up. We tried holding the spring while loosening the screws that you can see which are very small. Then we looked and we were wedging the long needle like piece (needle jet) against something and I looked and the thing was bent like a fishing hook. I tried to bend it back but it just broke off a small piece. So I don't have any extra needle jets if in fact that is what it is. I think that I am just going to take it to the dealer and let them rejet it. But I know that it is not that hard but I think that I took the wrong steps about doing it. So PLEASE if you have any advice on how or what I should do then please reply. I only mest up the right one. I had know problem though installing the pipes and k&n air filter with adapter plate. How do you guys work around that throttle spring. Please give me some step by step instructions. I ordered a clymer like 12 days ago and is still is not here. I am pissed. Also should I get aftermarket jets instead of just OEM.
  14. I live in North Carolina and my elevation is about sea level to maybe 50 feet above. I have a bone stock 03' shee and I have 15 tooth sprocket and chain set, k&n air filter, fmf sst's just waiting to be installed. If I put them on what should my jetting go up to. I havn't started so I don't know what the main jet is but give me a senario or some place to start from if possible. THANKS
  15. I am about to purchase quad through ebay but he took it off. He emailed me and said that he has a 10,000 dollar account protection with square trade. Should I not buy until I see some verification from him since it is no longer posted?
  16. I have seen that their is a racing axle that is ajustable up to 4" for 200. Sounds to good to be true. I only ride on flat land though so it may be O.k. Does anyone know anything about them. How they hold up or how durable they are?
  17. Is their any difference in having programable timing curves with the ingnition, as supposed to changing stator plate a few degrees. Do they do the same thing except one is cheaper or what.
  18. Tyson makes swingarms at -2" and he said he could get it to me for 300. Of course this is the stock style carrier. However there is one on ebay that has the axle and swingarm and hubs and disc and sprocket for probrably around 220. I just feel alittle concerned about buying one that was cut when I don't know how well it was cut. I feel more confident buying a brand new one that is made -2". Atleast that is if it is worth anything. Do any of you guys know anything about tyson racing and their swingarms or have any advice on what I should do.
  19. I was sitting in my house yesterday and my friend came up to the door and he said lets go race. I said what did you get, he said a rm 125 with pipes and reeds. I said heck no atleast not until my banshee is modded up. Anyway I had never in my life rode a dirtbike so I went to ride and come to find out it was a rm 250. The problem I had with it was that I have never used a twist throttle and when I hit the front brakes I was accidentally pulling back on the throttle as well. Any way I was only in first and just laid it down. I tried again and then I got going good and went up to 3rd and downshifted back to first and I got to confident and revved that mutha up to much and the front end popped up and I ended giving it more gas and the thing just through me off. Today I feel like some has a pole stuck up my talehole every time I sit down. I guess a 250 two stroke with pipes isn't the best bike to begin with.
  20. What about moose racing swingarms. Theirs one on ebay I might get if it doesn't cover shock linkage. Anyone know if it does or not.
  21. If I have my swingarm shortened then will an aftermarket skidplate still be able to bolt right on.
  22. I was riding today and was going about 60 when I saw at the last minute a water meter. I ended up hitting it with the bottom of the metal chain guard. It bent it enough to make the chain scrub a little. So I rode in first gear all the way home and took it off and bended it the best I could. But it still isn't completely straight.   23. I am planning to do all my mods at once. I have fmf sst's, k&n, 15 tooth front sprocket and -2 swingarm on the way. I know their are alot of different oppinions about carbs and the setup but with the mods I have mentioned do you think that I first of all should get bigger carbs, single carb kit, or no carbs at all.
  24. I had a blaster in which I put a +4 chorme lonestar axle on but I had to use a hydraulic press to get the old one out of the axle carrier. Will I have to do the same for the shee. I plan to send my swingarm off to be cut.
  25. Do any of you guys ride with twist throttles? If so do you like. I type of riding I do is fast trail riding around fields and on some roads
