  1. I have had the A Graham Bell 2 stroke performance tuning book and I read it thoroughly. Its very insightful even for simple modifications. I was told by a buddy of mine that foredom and ccspecialties were compatible but I'm not sure. I think that starting out I can in no way expect to do as good as work as FAST or PASSION. However I do believe that I will be able to do reliable good and clean work. I hoping that if I find a set of tools I will be able to get started soon because I got some extra stock cylinders. Thanks for the info.
  2. I want to start doing a little porting and I need to find some good porting tools. I want be doing a whole lot of porting but hopefully a few cylinders a year. Need some advice about what bits and acceseries I will need and also a good place to get them or if I could get some used ones from someone
  3. I have been to a guys web site where he built drag frames and stuff for banshee but I cant remember what the site was but I think his name was dave morris or something like that. Anyone know what I am talking about
  4. I am stripping down my bike right now getting it ready for whatever cheetah kit I decide to go for. I am going to sell basically all my stock stuff. I have unplugged my head lights and have taken them off but I still have a conglomerate of wires running over my carbs. What do I need and what can go? Also is their enough length to reroute the wires so they or out of the way.
  5. I talked to jeff yesterday about some different kits and I am really no sure of what I want. However I am sure that I want to save money the best that I can. If I had Jeff do all the porting and weld the crank do you guys think that installing it would be beyond me. I am mechanically inclined. Ive been looking my clymers the past few days and it doesn't look that hard if you take your time. Anyone tried installing them themselves with no previous experience or should I leave it to a professional?
  6. Someone I used to ride with just had his engine hopped up. He said that it was a 421 or 420 but that it was on stock cylinders. He says it has a 4mm stroker and it has 44mm alky carbs. Out of frame drag pipes and undercut or override transmission with a lockup clutch. What kind of hp numbers are we talkin here, and how fast could it really be on a stock frame thats just lowered.
  7. OK I have my tecate wich I am installing a 44 lectron on as soon as it gets warm so that I can run methonol. I will run it into the side of the reed cage. If I wanted to also have nitrous with it how would I hook it up. Would I run dry into the airfilter or wet with the alcohol somehow? If anyone has done this or knows someone who has done this please give some advice. I only want to run a 9 or 12oz bottle with about a 10 or 15 horsepower shot.

  9. I ordered a rick stator 100w this past weekend and installed it two days ago and the old banshee fired right up. Thanks for the help guys
  10. My compression is the same but I just dont get how it just went out like that. Any other suggestions guys.
  11. Ive just got married nov 19 so ive been pretty busy. My bike has been down for about 4 months now so I really want to get it fixed. What happened was I had my timing at +4 and changed it to +7. It rode fine and then the next day I started it up and then it just cut off like it ran out of gas. So I dont know what it could be. My lights had previously went out about 2 months before so I think that it could be my stator. I have a ohms meter but I am electrically iliterate. Please help me any way you guys can to check voltage on all electrical systems that may apply to my problem before I order something I don't need. Thanks.
  12. well with the picture that I posted and as far as you know or can tell would you just get a new stator and you think that will solve it.
  13. Well if in fact I am right about the white wire being broke off then do I have to get a new stator all together or can I fix it. Also with the indendtions or nicks on the flywheel, will that affect anything.
  14. Here are some pics of my stator and my flywheel and degree key. In the picture of the stator you can see the white and red wire. The red wire looks to be grounded but if you look at the white wire it looks like it has broken off. I don't know what it looked like before or should look like so if anyone knows please inform me. Just below the white wire you can see where the enamel was chipped on the stator. In the picture of the flywheel you can see that the piece that sticks up and passes by the sensor or magnet has some indentions. I don't know if that came from the degree key coming off or from something else. In the picture of the degree key you will see the minor scratches but it still fits into place. One thing that I noticed to was that the magnet that the flywheel passes by was missing one of the screws that holds it in place. Maybe it got off line and caused some problems. Please help and I appreciate it.
  15. Appreciate it man. I am going to do an ohmmeter test before I buy one but I do feel that the stator just punched its last ticket. I highly doubt my coil is bad being that my bike is a 03 and never been abused or left in the rain. Also doesn't ricky stator have discounts through banshee hq?
  16. Well it was a little scratched and nicked but very minor. So I smoothed it our with sand paper and it does fit in the groove fine, but it seems like it was sticking up out of the groove to much. I just wanted to be shure. Also if the flywheel is lined up properly with the key then it shouldn't come out right?.

  18. I previously advanced my timing to +4 and lightened my flywheel and I cracked one of the little peices of enamel on the stator. About a month ago my lights went out. The bike still ran fine but two days ago I changed my timing to +7 and it ran good as well. I went out yesterday to ride and it started on the first kick and then it cut off. I thought it just choked off. So I tried to start it and it wouldn't fire for anything. I put a screwdriver in the spark plug cap to see if I could see some fire but I cant. So I took the flywheel off again and inside was my woodruff key that is supposed to be on the crankshaft. So I put that back in the slot and put the flywheel back on and tried to start it and it wouldn't fire. The only thing I can think of is that my stator went out. Like I said one of the electrodes that has the enamal coating on it was cracked from before and my lights had already gone out. I am thinking that since it requires a hotter spark at +7 and because maybe my stator was already weak that it just went out. Is their anything else I can do to check before I buy a new stator. Also about the degree key or woodruff key, does it just rest in the slot or do you have to kind of knock it in the slot. Please help need advice.

  20. I have a 2003 banshee and all my mods are at the bottom of my sig except for a recently installed set of vforce 2 reeds. I have a set of almost brand new maxxis 4-snows for it and a Brand new set of holeshots. I bought it brand new and I have the title for it.   21. Alright, I was working on my shee the other day and I was going to put a new 15 tooth sprocket to replace my old one. When I tried to get the nut off it wouldn't budge. I used my impact wrench and it still didn't move. I was standing on the back brake while I was doing this so the engine wouldn't turn over. The other problem is I just gave up trying to get it off and put the cover back on and went to start the bike and it started but the lights flashed like 2 times then they went out. Is this a major problem or is it just gonna affect my lights.
  22. Alright fella's. You can see what I have done already to my bike by looking at my signature. One thing not listed is v-force 2's. Anyways I plan on getting new inframe drag pipes with a port job to match. I want a fast trail bike or extreme trail bike. As far as porting I am stuck on passion, eric gorr, and fast. I want to get a noss head too. But with my +4 timing and lets say 20cc domes at sea level with inframe drag pipes and woods port, will I have to get the crank trued and welded? Also as far as carbs, will my stock ones work or will I need to go bigger? Any suggestions and combo suggestions will be helpful. I just want to have a scary fast bike that I can still ride around trails with. Thanks.
