I know I have already asked about it a hundred times it seems but I would greatly appreciate it if some of you guys would take a look at ebay motors, in the atv section under kawasaki as the type and take a look at the one that says 1986 Kawasaki Tecate 250kxf. It is green and if you will take a look at it objectively. I would by this in a heartbeat except for the fact that he says it is a 5 speed transmission. I DONT GET IT. The tecate 4 had a 6 speed tranny and as you will see in the pictures it is not the 3 wheeler engine in the 4 wheeler frame. Is it possible that 6th gear will not engage or is it possible that the 3 wheeler tranny can and is fit into this quad. I HAVE NO CLUE BUT HE SWEARS IT IS 5 SPEED. However he says that if buyer doesn't like it after purchase he will refund the 500 dollar deposit. Sounds like its worth a shot to me what about yall.

Need help deciding quick

I just like the old school two strokes. I would love to get a honda 250r completely stock. Theirs one on ebay but they just sale for to much. The bids on it started at 1,000 and in one day it has already gone up to 2,850 and their is still 5 days left. So I basically have about 2,000 that I am willing to spend. I do have a 03 shee that I already am fixing up but I want another quad for my friends to ride so they don't have to ride on the back of mine. And I get tired of the same kind of ride after a while anyway. I want something that feels different and handles different. But seriously though, does that sound fishy about the 5 speed tecate 4 because the tecate 4 which I looked up on the internet has 6 speed. Could it be a 3 wheeler motor in the 4 wheeler frame. But then again it does fit perfectly so I dont think it could be. Or could it be that the clutch won't engage into 6th gear. Help -
I am going to purchase either lt250r 1985 model off of this site in the for sale forum or a tecate 4 off of ebay the tecate worries me a little because listen to what the guy says about it "Good clutch Good transmition (1 down 4 up)" I thought that they were a 6 speed tranny. Also listen to this "Needs a new Float needle to stop fuel in carb float bowl. Leaks slow if Main fuel is left on at tank when shut off for long periods of time.. (Looses about 1/4 tank over a week or so when sitting with main fuel on.)" I think I can get this for total including shipping for about 1800 or less. But the lt250r is very nice looking and seems to have no problems and is 1800 or best offer, but it is in Texas so shipping will be alot more. The tecate auction ends saturday. What would you guys get. I personally like the tecate because it is unique to say the least but I do like the lt as well. Help please.

If you ever come across a tecate 4 let me know.

It is on ebay and it has no reserve and I think I might can get it for 1500 or less. Here is what the guy selling it has to say about it: The head was cracked in the water jacket above the exaust port and has been welded up. It cracked from having too much water in the cooling system and freezing. The crack has nothing to do with performance or reliability, the cylinder sleve is in great shape. The left front wheel leans out a little bit, not for sure why, was told I could shim it to fix it but never took the time. Quad was bored I think .020 over when I first got it in 1994 by the motorcycle shop down the road from me, I have also added a DG silencer which is like brand new. With new plastic and a fresh top end this ATV would be a top notch ride. What do you guys suggest?

Have any of yall looked at the suzuki 1985 lt250 in the for sale forum? If so what do you think. Also thier are a couple of lt500 quadzilla's for sale around where I live for a good price but I heard and read and article in the past that said that the always had extensive motor problems. They said that it was like a constant battle to keep it running good. Is this true? Between the lt250 in the for sale forum and a lt500 that looks as nice, which would yall get? -
I have a powerpro Bowflex with the leg attachment and back belt that I am going to try and sell. If anyone is interested then let me know. It is in excellent shape. I don't use it much because my dad bought it but I like to lift at the gym with free weights. So it is practically like new except for the dust it is collecting. I don't know how I will ship it or how much it will cost yet but hope to know soon. I will post it on Ebay once I have the pictures developed should be tommorow. If anyone is interested then call me at 252-398-3300 or email me at [email protected] Oh yeah it is 210 pound version. I am asking $500.00 and will take no less than 450.00 but any negotiations in between those numbers will be exceptable. Buyer will be responsible for shipping. I live in North Carolina and the city is Murfreesboro, zip is 27855

Tecate vs. suzuki 250 vs. trx250r

Man its just so hard to find a freaking nice old quad though ya know. I am looking at one on ebay. The guy says that if the winner after deposit sees the tecate and doesn't like it then he will refund the winner. Sounds good but I have to find a way to get the quad from Tennesee to North Carolina. It is about 600 miles even from my house to his so I was thinking of having it shipped. Do you guys know if an atv dealership will pick it up if he leaves it with his atv dealership. You know just shipping from one store to the other. -

So I asume that you live in Pennsylvania if so where. Are you the original owner? Is it a stock bore? Have you or previous owners if any had any problems with the motor or suspension or frame? -
I know that the honda 250r is the best out of these but it is also always the most expensive. If I should come across a tecate 4 and lt 250 for the same price then which would you get. I guess I want to know which is the all around best. I have read an old atv magazine article where they tested the banshee,lt250,250r, and tecate 4 and the honda won. It said that the tecate was the fastest though. Man I wish I had that magazine. Anyway which would you guys get.

What other quads do you have for sale?
-
I have 03 banshee and am contemplating getting another quad but not banshee. I definitely want a two stroke though. I had a 01 blaster that I put +4 extended lonestar chrome axle, 28mm mikuni, k&n, jet kit, fmf fatty, intake manifold, reeds, reed spacer, trenga hydraulic rear brake, and other mods but it still wasn't fast enough. I bought most of my mods from trenga racing and the owner really was a big help and I know that they can port two a 240 which is supposed to be fast but I'm not to fond about air cooled engines anymore. I'm thinking of getting trx250r, lt250, lt500, ot tecate 4. Their is a lt 250 and tecate 4 posted in the sale forum and the lt 250 looks smokin. Which would you guys get. I'm not planning on spending over 2,000 dollars. I know that pretty much puts the honda out of the question but every once in a while you might get lucky. Oh yeah and how does a stock lt500 quadzilla compare to a stock banshee as far as top speed. Just curious. Thanks for any suggestions guys.
-
Yeah Im curious as to what the shipping will be to North Carolina. I am very interested but want have money for another 3 weeks. Also I never heard back from you about the other quads you have for sale. And one question about suzuki is that you said you have wiseco piston in it so is it a stock bore or has it been bored out.
-
Finally I saved up enough dough to get the banshee moving at least alittle anyway. I already had fmf sst's for almost a year now but got side tracked and never put them on. Now I just got a brand new Clymers manual off of ebay, brand new sprocket 15/41 and new chain set, brand new trail tech computer, and brand new k&n airfilter with proflow billet adapter and a stock banshee airbox with lid and carb boots for $200.00 Now when they arrive I will just have to take a week and install and then I will be ready to ride and maybe atleast keep you veterans in seeing distance.

Come on guys. A little help please

I know that just about everyone runs a -2 swingarm. I want to get one but their is also -1 swingarms that Ive seen and they are easier to find. Is their much difference in the way they perform on dirt paths and fields. Or is their a difference, one better than other?
-
Has anyone got a Tyson -2" swingarm for a banshee. If so then does it work good. Is it worth the money.
-
You mentioned tires. I have stockers and I was thinking of getting either razers, shredders, or holeshots. I had holeshots on my blaster and I liked them. The terrain I ride on is mostly farm land with lots of grass and dirt. Nothing like sand or mud though.
