  1. Already completely went through the carbs, disconnected the tors, replaced spark plugs, I am running 340's, so I know I am not lean, and problem started all the sudden. It didn't get progressively worse. Mechanically I have all bases covered except for the reeds. I really need to know if it is possible to have an electrical problem if problem does not follow spark plug leads when I switch them.
  2. Actually, it doesn't make any sense to me, but that side seems to be hot all the time, even when it is misfiring. But what do you have in mind?
  3. I would start w/250-260 mains, stock pilot, clip in middle position.
  4. Is it possible that if I switch plug caps around and problem stays on same side that I have an electrical problem, and if so can someone explain why? Starts like shit, then once I get it started, if I just barely open the throttle up and hold it steady, cuts in and out on left side, does a little popping. But once I get into it, it seems to pep right up. The only thing I haven't done is check reeds on that side, which I will do tonight. Just want some opinions. Thanks.
  5. You will end up w/about 150 psi. Pump gas will work.
  6. How much did you put in?
  7. If it is tranny oil, it would have nothing to do w/the rings on a 2-stroke. If it is engine tranny oil, it would have to do w/crank seal on right side, but then you would definately have oil in the right pipe. I agree that if he kicked it over a ton of times, it was probably gas mixed w/the grime in the pipe. As far as the electrical problem goes, good luck.
  8. My stock banshee w/pipes pushes 130 HP and I still can't keep up w/ex's.
  9. Just unplug the tors control box, will take tors out of the equation. You can then eventually buy the tors removal kit to replace the carb tops and eliminate the wiring when you get to it.
  10. Thanks wayfst, anyone else w/thoughts on this problem?
  11. Yes you can switch caps, will work either way. Before you do anything else though, I just had the exact same problem w/mine. Ended up being the tors, did not help to switch caps either. Just unplug the tors control box under the gas tank to disable the whole system, and that will at least eliminate the tors, if not fix the problem. I am very confident this may be your problem.
  12. According to a Banshhe compression chart I have, 21cc domes on a fresh top end will put you at 157 psi, 20 cc will put you at 169. Generally over 160-165 most generally run 50/50 mix w/110. If you want to stay w/93 octane(premium pump gas) you should go no smaller than 21cc. You may start running into reliability issues w/your crank if it is stock going smaller than that also.
  13. Congrats on the baby bro, good luck w/the woman.
  14. A friends Banshee was running fine one weekend and all of a sudden it's running funny and the right side isn't firing, or barely at all. Changed spark plug, switched plug caps around, cleaned carbs, fuel lines to both carbs are brand new. Did a compression test and came up w/190 both sides. The shitter is my buddy was running 93 octane for last 2 months he has owned machine. Claims he did a compression test when first aquiring machine and only came up w/135 per side. Does have a cool head, not sure what size domes. Any suggestions? Also he is getting oil seeping out of the pipe, but not spraying out. When i had a bad crankseal, oil would just spray out the pipe, but would still fire fine. He has aftermarket 34mil kheins, tors has been eliminated. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is it possible there is a problem in the right side and still get a good compression reading?
  15. You can just unplug the tors control box under the gas tank to test it. I had a problem w/tors and I have just left it unplugged until I get an elimination kit. Sometimes just from all the jarring around and cleaning carbs time after time tors system gets shorted. You can check for air leak while it is running by spraying the crap out of intake gaskets, base gaskets, etc. and see if it revs up, or runs normal. If it does you've found your air leak.
  16. I would think you would be in the ballpark, but not sure w/pro-circuits. If I remember right, I don't think they are a big gas hog though, I don't think I would go up any more on the pilots.
  17. Just PM dlnoss, he will tell you everything you need to know, and even give you a discount for being a HQ member.
  18. The only choice for aftermarket reeds on a Banshee!
  19. He's prolly distracted by Lil T's but pics now.
  20. I would run it, prolly has been like that the whole 100 hrs.
  21. Good to hear you're ok man.
  22. If your jetting is off, you can destroy a brand new top end in a good day of riding. Your jetting looked fine on the left side from the looks of that piston which makes me totally agree w/nyuk on the air leak theory.
  23. Fernando, Grand River Racing is another option you can check into out of Lansing, Michigan area. They do a lot of snowmobiles also and have built banshees to keep up w/them for ice drags.
  24. Thanks, does anyone have a favorite other than Valdue? I called information, checked the chamber of commerce web site, and no listing for Valdue Lakes. Anyone know if it is listed as something else?
