  1. At least you stuck with a 2 stroke, but dude you got rid of your shee!!! WTF!
  2. It was the other piston that went last time. There was a hole burned in the top of it about an inch wide. It was because my carb needed to be cleaned and I didn't clean it and the jets plugged on it and it leaned out and got too hot. After I put the new piston in last time I checked compression in both cylinders and it was around 110 PSI. It was my neglect that caused it to go the first time. I am trying to find out what happened this time. My cylinder is fine. I am going to just put a piston and new rings in I have it tore apart and there isn't any debris inside the crank. It just looks like a little chip out of the side of the piston. It didn't hit the exhaust port, it's to the side of it. I'll just spend 100 bucks now so I can drive it and if it goes again i'll have the money saved to bore it out and put oversized pistons and rings in it. I will post some pictures if I can.
  3. I have a 99 I've owned it now for almost 2 months it was in good shape when I got it, but I hears the guy drag raced it only and ran avgas in it. I replaced 1 piston, and the other one went last weekend, but that's my fault because I should have replaced both when I did one...oh yeah my shifter assembley broke well that spring that goes onto the part that hooks to the shift star broke, east fix tho. I love my banshee so easy to work on its not funny, it's a marvel of engineering!
  4. I was just hoping to put a new piston/rings in and go this is bad news I was just going to use my engine deglazer to round things out (what I did on the other side a couple of weeks ago and it works great) The cylinder wall isn't bad at all. It was worse when I burned the hole in the piston and I had aluminum all over the wall. I am going to mic that cylinder tonight and see how much play it has. I didnt want to go all out but if I have to I will. If its really bad I'm going to get it bored out on both sides the next size up and get 2 new wiseco pistons, wrist pins and wrist pin bearings. Its not too much cash and I might as well do it right. Doing it half assed and having it blow up next weekend would be just plain stupid.
  5. Ok last night I am all ready to go out on a tour on the shee I got tomorrow off work and I spent a few hours tweaking it cleaning it and all the maintainence I normally do. I head towards my friends place that's about a 1 hour drive on a bike, and halfway there I lose power and one cylinder backfires and shit I thought maybe it's a plug. But nope its a piston I did a redneck compression test just putting my thumb over the spark plug hole and one's fine the other one has no compression I stick a screwdriver down to see if I burned a hole in the top of the piston (which I did 2 weeks ago on the other piston) and theres no hole. I drive the bike on 1 cylinder just up the road to a guy I know's place and get a 12MM socket and pull the head off...sure enough I have a little piece chipped off the side of the right piston...I dont know how it happened it looks like it hit the exhaust port or something... I've had the bike for almost a month and a half and I am starting to get pissed at how much it goes through pistons!! I'm still running stock pistons and it didn't hurt the cylinder wall so now i have to wait till a new piston/rings gets in and Its canada day today all the boys were going out on tour and I am bansheeless. this sucks!
  6. Wow...I watched that a few times I finally realized that the pedestrian crossing the road got SMOKED
  7. It sucks being hurt! Sitting there not being able to do anything... Take it easy on that leg, just because the cast is off doesn't mean its fully healed. It takes a long time to fully heal a bad break.
  8. damn thats one tricked out ride
  9. That sucks to hear that! It onlly takes a couple jerk-offs driving around on pavement all the time to really piss the cops off and get them after bikes. Then they don't care if you are just on the side of the road for a few seconds or taking the pavement everywheres. They just want to get bikes. Best policy is to not stop. They'll never catch you in a short distance.
  10. Being chased by the 5-0 and blowing up a piston.
  11. It takes some serious skill to wheelie a banshee any distance especially on dirt. I find if I'm in any gear below third it just spins out. On pavement its a different story, but I have only had my shee a month and I'm still getting used to the powerband. In first and second on pavement its like "zip" and its up in a split second. Normally I just pull it up for a few seconds and come down. I don't want to be starting a new thread on the rides of shame section anytime soon you know...
  12. I I think you could talk him down probably to 7 no problem. I think that bike is worth every penny. Done up to the tits. Since you've been around shees for awhile I'd go for it! Sweet looking bike. You couldn't buy a stock used shee and dump all those aftermarket parts in it for $7500.
  13. She's a hurtin unit! Look at that A-Arm. That takes some skill to bend it like that
  14. A 300 main might be a little big, with my fattys I run a 260. You'll find out. Do you need new gaskets when you put the reed spacers on?
  15. I would do it yourself it's not that hard my friend's shee has been split once and I watched him do it. He has to split it again now too. Practice makes perfect. You might as well learn how to do it yourself.
  16. Banshees are easy to work on. Just tear it apart and see what has to be done. Post some pictures first. You aren't looking at alot of money to get a connecting rod and a piston + rings. Hopefully the crank is alright.
  17. I think it looks cool. I really like the seat cover on it. I think a black and red or black and yellow scheme would be cooler though. The main thing is that they're still making shees!
  18. BFH..... BIG F______ Hammer? LAMO!!!!
  19. It's good you were wearing a helmet. I don't care what anyone says - helmets have saved my brains more than once. I have driven 4 strokes all my life, after my shee I could NEVER go back!!! Next time stick to something that has some GUTS!
  20. I just fixed my bent rim I was going to get an ITP replacement but I have it back to normal with no wobble. All you do is get a piece of chalk or a white colored pencil and jack the front end of the bike off the ground. Spin the tire around and hold the chalk so its hitting the highest part of the wobble out. When the tire stops you'll see a white mark on one end of the tire. Take the tire off and on the opposite side the white mark take a washer or 2 and put it behind the wheel stud to bring the tire out and get rid of the wobble. May take some fine tuning but I went from a barely drivable front tire to one thats as good as new without dishing out 100 bucks. Hope this saves you some cash.
  21. Last time i had a chase I was heading home at 3am and I had a flat tire and I was on reserve. When you see the red and blue, it's do or die time. No screwing around. I need my license.
  22. Because it's used I would check the fluids and probably change the oil that way you know you changed it and it's new. Put new plugs in, too and take the old ones and put them in your toolkit like sredish said. Also, if you ride at night bring a small flashlight with you. Maybe get a pair of goggles. And a repair manual. Check it over before you drive it, check the front end, the rear wheel nuts (they tend to some loose) and the axle nuts. Enjoy your shee youll love it!
  23. I have the exact same problem ever since I put a new piston and rings in. It gets warmed up and I rev it up and when the revs come down I hear a vibration noise. The thing that bothers me is it sounds like it's coming from the engine. I've driven it pretty hard the last couple of weeks and nothing has blown up, I don't think it's serious. I thought it might be my wrist pin bearing because I just slapped a piston in to replace the one I burned a hole in and never replaced anything else but the piston and rings. I have a friend who runs stock pipes and his vibrates the same way and it's his pipes for sure, it's harder to tell on mine. Shees vibrate like crazy, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
  24. Have a look here. Hesitation off idle I have the same problem with my bike and I am going to try this on Friday when I get a chance to work on the shee. Hope it helps!
  25. I've raced some cars on my shee. You have to have one hell of a car to beat a shee in a drag! They just don't take off as quick. Period. In a short race you won't have a problem. Did you guys ever see the race against the 5.0L mustang? The shee makes a fool of him. Balls to the wall!
