  1. Now thats funny!
  2. I figure I will wander around the local haedware store again when I get off work.
  3. Ohton sells the Direct Drive lock-ups and covers. TDR doesn't really have a picture of what they sell. As for the previously posted reference to Trinity, it seems that they sell a complete stator side cover, but only wave the water pump and insert covers for the clutch side. I do recall that somebody sold a do-it-yourself lock up cover kit. Thanks for all the effort in finding these. Once again if anyone can find a picture of a cover with approxiimately a 1" hole filled by a rubber plug behind an insert cover. It would still be appreciated. I continue to swear that I have seen one somewhere.
  4. I'm not always pissed, I just have a habbit of stating my opinion without regards to other's feelings or opinions.
  5. I am running around 101 horsepower at the rear wheels. I have a complete Hinson Kevlar setup in it right now with the billet basket, hub, and pressure plate. It is mostly a duner/ play bike. I figured those where Direct Driver lock ups that Buddy was selling, but I wasn't sure. I would love to use my stock plastic insert and seal but when I built the engine I didn't think I was going to be making as much power as I am and decided to run a stock cover with an aftermarket insert that I made. Of course I threw out the stock insert and gasket. That I am getting is that my o-ring groove in the insert is overkill as people seem to be doing this modification and sealing it with tubes of RTV.
  6. I have no idea what you're talking about. All of the sets that I bought came with out stickers on the silencers and I without stamping on the expansion chambers. I have seen quite a few blued out sets of Rockets, but that doesn't necessarily mean the chrome is bad it just means the jetting is too lean or oil was left on it before start up.
  7. I agree that if I did it right the first time, then I wouldn't have to adjust it a bunch, but I'm retarded. Right now I am trying to decide if I want to cut an o-ring groove in the insert cover or wander around town trying to fing a rubber plug that would work. If anyone has ideas for a plug I can still use them. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for who to go through to get a lock-up cover and clutch plate, speak up. I can't decide between Direct Drive, Matoon Machine, and Southern Style Racing. This is probably what I will go with in the end.
  8. I haven't seen a dyno sheet yet for a set of Rockets that was not on an inertial dyno. On a given motor, one pipe will probably make more hp than the other depending on the porting of the engine. This however, does not mean either pipe is better than the other, just different. My personal choice is CPI due to the fact that they can actually answer questions about what porting specs need to be ball parked for on a given engine, which is based off their CFD data. The impression that I get is that the Rocket pipes were designed with a 10 key calculator (forgive me if I am wrong) at best. If I were not to put any thought into my choice and purely went buy appearance, then I would still buy the CPI's due to the fact the the Rocket silencers look gay, not to mention the seemingly sub par fit and finish with the snap rings. Just my .02.
  9. Yeah hit up Razorback Designs, they are awesome to deal with.
  10. Additionally, I trying to do this as correctly as possible, given what I want to do. Therefore, "po dunk" or things that require RTV are not what I am shooting for here. All of this is purely spawned from laziness and cheapness. I really don't want to pull the stock cover off and I really don't want to buy a new cover as my biggest hang up with that is actually still pulling the cover off. I could also pull the cover off and go toss it in the HAAS and do basically what Hinson charges $700000 for, but still, I'm lazy. It seems to me that I saw a reputable builder (maybe it was Twister) was doing this modification with some sort of rubber plug that was roughly about 1" in diameter. I just want to know where to get a grooved rubber plug that has a groove thick enough to fit the case but not protrude into the clutch hub. I ran out of ideas for the plug yesterday, now I am frantically searching the internet for the picture of this modification that was not slutty, that I swear I saw.
  11. Some asshole (me) didn't do a good enough job of roughly adjusting it before the enigine was put in the frame and buttoned up the side cover. Basically I am looking for a shortcut that doesn't involve purchasing a Direct Drive or Hinson side cover setup, nor am I motivated enough do the make a similair set up myself.
  12. Has anyone done a clutch cover modification to get at the clutch free play adjustment. I have seen a few guys with holes behind their clutch cover insert, but have no idea what they are sealing it with. If anyone has come up with something please let me know and throw up pictures if you have any. At the very least I could use an idea for something to stick in the hole after I make it. I have thought of cutting an o-ring groove in the back of my cover insert, but I'm not sure that's the best idea.
  13. Apparently I have 167.2 horsepower. I rule.
  14. Still got the stock gas tank $ 25 comes with Pingel fuel valve? If so let me know.
  15. Still got the Pingel? If so, shoot me a picture of it.
  16. Is the rear portion of the frame bent pretty bad? Or is it just me?
  17. Exactly.
  18. I know where a Canadian RZ500 is, that needs some work in Cali. If anyone is interested let me know. I think it's going for $1800.
  19. That would buy one hell of a hooker.
  20. I'm pretty sure that's right, but then again I have a master's in ME and you know how retarded engineers are.
  21. Red is .190
  22. It's worth it. Don't do it yourself unless you are an experienced machinist.
  23. I get mine from my dry cleaner. He is a buddy of mine and has the cheapest gas in town as he is already licensed to handle the stuff via the dry cleaning business.
  24. Why don't you just email them and ask LSR what they are made out of? My personal opinion is that they are made of wood or cheese, which are both excellent engineering materials.
  25. That's funny as hell. I hate god damn cats.
