  1. I hear both way on this, A LOT. ledofthezep actually rides a -2 at the LIttle Sahara dunes quite freqequently, and last i heard he loved it. On the other hand some guys run a +4 for the dunes, and love it equally. Justintoxicated comes to mind, and i think SDD has one also. It really all depends on the state of tune your motor is in. Led has a mildly ported motor with pipes and a few other goodies, and he feels like the -2 runs pretty well out there. Justintoxicated has a +4mm stroker motor, so he runs the +4 arm for stability. SDD has a +7mm stroker, and thats the point where a stock arm gets to be a pain in the ass. Let us know how your motor is built up perf. wise and we can really give a more accurate, less general responce. Good Luck with yer buyin.
  2. in the scheme of race ports, the t-5s have a pretty mild curve. not like the stockers, but they are certainly no CPI out frames either. T-5's are typically the dune pipe of choice also, so i dont think that has much to do with your problem. The first thing id do it change up my front sprocket, bump it up 2-3 teeth. Most built 4mm's can pull a 17/41 in the dirt no prob, but sand will bog you a little, or a lot, more depending on conditions. Also change this out cause its the cheapest to do by far. Brads point on porting is also very valid. Try to get in touch with your motor builder and see if hell give you your port specs. The ex. height and duration reeeeaaaally comes into play here, as these will make the most difference in your power band.
  3. yeah, im positive its not a stroker crank, just a longrod. its on stock ports, and no its not a true big bore, however the cylinders are .80 over.

  6. some guys choose to plug those holes up with something, dont remeber what right now. some of the new billet intakes dont even include the boost bottle holes in the design.
  7. id say race fuel. ive got 19's at 1100 feet and have 215 lbs of cmpression.
  8. the pipes have a lot to do with your PB delivery. you didnt say which ones you have though so i cant comment there. however, that 13t might be hurting you. with all that extra power you should be able to turn a 16/41 setup with 20in paddles. so having it low geared like that may just be compounding your problem. id try at least a 15t next time your at the dunes and see how you like it.
  9. you could stop riding in the cold for one thing. yeah, some of the more caustic cleaners will eat gaskets. and you may want to remove the floats also, i dont know how they will be affected. im not really sure on why they would stick lke that, maybe it is because of the dirt, i dunno. but im sure after having them apart for that many times on the trail, a little cleaning couldnt hurt a thing.

  11. i know, no matter how mad it makes me, i always want to fix it. it may sit in the garage for a while waiting on me to round up cash, but its worth it. and when shee is down for a while, shee always gets other neat things done that i wouldnt do otherwise cause id be riding her.

  14. id reeeeeaaally like to go just to watch, but i just used the mapquest thingy to find out they are 9 hours away. thats a long way to drive to see some fast bikes, but not be able to ride. like going to a strip club nine hours a way and not having any cash.

  16. i cant seem to find anything quite like i have on here. so here's what i got. got VF2's, and a toomey 2:1 filter with the uni. so where do i need to be on the jets? stock carbs, stock pipes.
