  1. I would go with the Noss head...Ive had mine for 2 years. Great low end boost. It's great to be able to talk directly with the manufacturer. Dave will answer any of your questions.
  2. I broke my engine on a petrolium based oil at 32:1. After break-in I am now running 40:1 using Maxima 927 castor oil.
  3. ARe you talking about pod filters? If you are, you need to measure the diameter of the air box end of the carbs. That will give you the measurement you need to order. I have 34mm PJ's and use a 2'1/4 Uni Pod on mine. I am pretty sure that the stock diamete size pod wil NOT fit the 33mm's I got the pods from DennisKirk.com They had the 2 stage foam pods in stock. I needed them in a hurry.
  4. If I remember right...I got mine from Magic Racing.
  5. I have the Dyna Ignition. When I put it on I was using stock carbs, I jetted up one main jet I think. I have since rebuilt the entire engine to a 12 port stroker. I am currently running 178 main jets in the 34pj's. Im still in the process of fine tuning it.
  6. I'm running the D.I.D. ATV X-Ring chain and have had no problems with it. It hasn't stretched much over the last year. Rocky Mountain has about the best pricing on them.
  7. Dont mean to jack this post, but I have kind of the same question. My banshee is a 12 port stroker, 34pj's, v-force 2's, clamp on uni's, noss head 18cc domes, Dyna ignition and FMF SST's. Currently I have a 15/41 gearing. Im running 22 in RAZR 2's for extra clearance on trails.. I ride on wide open strip mine and logging roads. I occaisionly ride on trails also. Would I be able to run 16/41? Would it make much difference on speed? do the 22's eat a lot of top end speed? Right now I need a 105 link chain for the 15/41. What size chain for the 16?
  8. I have the 34mm PJ's with my 12 port HOT MX Stroker from PASSION. It idles fine with 55 pilots.
  9. Okay...did the search for Blue duece...found the post...no pics though lol. I PMed hom. I already have the 2 plastic intake tubes cut from my last carbs. I guess I will try and cut the boots a little also. It looks like it would be VERY tight without moving the box a little.
  10. I have the steel braided cable by terry cable. I figure about 2 would be the most you could cut off. Thanks, I will give it a try.
  11. I just added some Keihin 34mm PJ's to my 12-port stroker. How do you adjust the throttle cable on the carbs? How much of the spring on the slides can you cut off? Those springs with a push throttle are extremely stiff!
  12. I just added 34mm carbs to my 12 port stroker. I need advice on moving the air box back farther to fit the new carbs. Anyone have a pics of theirs? Id like to keep the stock airbox using my K&N adapter set-up. Thanks in advance. Shawn
  13. Who has the best prices on the 34pj carbs and cpi or shearer pipes? I am in the process of getting Passions 12 port stroker. Jim has the engine as we speak. I am looking to add those mods to my bike also. Jim recommended that carb and pipes. Any comments on the performance with those? Is it worth changing the pipes or will the bigger carbs work ok with the FMF SST's?
  14. Bump....anyone with any advice?
  15. My head gasket on my 95 was definitely metal!
  16. Okay, Haven't posted in a long time but its that time of the year again. I am sending my engine out tomorrow to have porting work done by passion. I am tentatively getting a 12 port trail build. Jim from passion said it should put out about 65hp. He is going to do a full tear down, inspect and weld the crank, seals, porting and a rebore and new pistions since this set is fryed. Right now I am running FMF SST pipes, V-force 2 reeds, Noss head with 19cc Domes, Dyna ignition and a K&N Filter set up. I mostly ride wide open logging and strip mine roads with the occasional trail ride. Is it worth going up to the stroker? How much gains will I see over just doing the port job with my set-up? How much more money and work am I looking at? Thanks in advance, Shawn
  17. Thanks Dude!
  18. My steering shaft bearing needs replaced. Anyone ever do theirs? How hard is it it? The clymer manual states you need a special tool. Is this true? Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I have Razor II's on one of my bikes and Holeshots on the other. Both of them work well on trails.
  20. You may have to go 1 notch leaner on the needle. This means moving the clip up one notch. I have the Delta 2's and went 1 leaner and it is right on.
  21. Hey thanks for the info! The chart is great.
  22. Hey Bradrs Since you obviously have a lot of experience. What pre-set curve is best for my application? I basically ride fast trails and open dirt roads. You can see all my mods below. I have the Dyna Fs ignition but do not have the computer software yet.
  23. I generally use Rocky Mountain. Their prices are hard to beat. If you spend over $1000.00 in a year, you get a 5% gift card.
  24. I have the programmable Dyna, but I havent purchased the software to do my own curves yet. I just use the 4 curves that are pre-set. I havent decided which one of the pre-sets works best .
  25. The tip of the porcelin wont turn brown when checking a new plug after a WOT run. You have to look at the base of the porcelin. It takes a while for the tip to turn brown. Also you can't check your jetting with old plugs...use new ones they it will set you back 3 bucks for the two lol. Don't be cheap.
