You've got to be a little leary of those electrical guys very few of them are "cool" I can safely say there's no other engineers with bikes at my office, I never really thought about it though. The other engineers prefer their little Corvettes it's fun to go right by them on 2 lane on ramps I've had a few talk about riding my murdercycle and stuff like that and there's always the do you know how dangerous they are speeches. I tell them bikes don't kill there riders it's typically other drivers or the motorcyclist themself that is responsible. As long as you know your limits and pay attention to everything it's not that bad. With that said I had 3 cars merge onto me on Wednesday alone, no signals nothing but I knew they were coming and sped up and went on my merry way. I feel like doing a Rossi and giving them the finger but then again why take a bike to a car fight. -

I'm in the mechanical side and seemingly spend most my time as a project engineer for various jobs. I've got cranes all over the world that I was the lead on and I've only been working for 2 1/2 years since I got out of college. Middle east, Russia, Africa, south America, China, Gulf of Mexico...It's interesting what you said. When I'm onsite working with the shop guys I feel that I fit in better with them than the other engineers, they are the people I'm used to hanging out with. One of our drafters is one of my riding buds. But I tell you what when lunch time comes goodbye shop guys I'm going with the plant manager or customers they feed you a whole lot better. -

Oil change every 3000 miles on my truck. 140,000 and runs like new, and looks like it too. -

Nope I've got a desk job as an engineer, when I travel it's by plane . All my gas money is out of my own pocket. I head down to my parents farm in Iowa and help them plus I used to visit my girlfriend who was going to school near my parents. Now my gf is up here so I won't be driving as much. It's over 300 miles to my parents and another 50 to my girlfriends plus all the driving during the week. The jugs of $4.25/ gallon race gas since I keep my shee down there, eat out 2-3 times a weekend it gets really expensive. And I've got to have a truck because I usually have my crotch rocket with me. My F150 will turn in close to 17.5mpg at 75mph with the 5.4. In the last year I also hit a deer doing 70 that cost me $300 to fix and I also got hit by an uninsured motorist, had I still had my Ranger that deer would have been right through the front end and cost me big, with the F150 it hit right square in the center of the front bumper and only broke the bug shield, grill and license plate bracket. My rangers were a 4.0 auto 4x4 I had both a 92 and a 99. The 92 got close to 25mpg and the 99 was lucky to get above 21 so that's why I was curious. -
I NEED MY FELLOW HQERS: STOLEN SHEE

Word, they probably tried to roll it and smoke it. What a bunch of worthless people. -
Sounds like you answered all the questions I did. I got mine straight from Eric @ Elka and couldn't be happier, he asked all kinds of questions about where and how I ride and made suggestions on my order. Maybe I just got lucky and the off the shelf ones match up perfectly to my specs but I'd definately get another set if I needed them.
-
That's cool. On the other hand Sredish is a tweaker and a perfectionist so the average individual probably wouldn't notice.
-
I don't remember that but oh well.

Now instead of running out of oil we will run out of water. I'm gonna start training myself to drink oil. I can see it now water will be $3.00 a gallon and oil will be $4.59 for 32 16.9 ounce bottles. There's also a car that runs on pig poo.
-
That's what I did.
-
Let us know how it turns out.
-
Mine was under $2000, cause I only ordered the fronts. Tell them to make seperate orders out of yours. Fronts one order and rears another. I think I must have gotten mine in '04.
-
About the respring thing for different arms. Sredish did it for his. $20/spring back in '04. You just have to decide is it worth the $40 down the road? http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=32669&hl=

I never gave them my SSN when I ordered mine. As said above the law may have changed.

how do you start your shee?
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to bodge's topic in General Banshee Discussion
No matter what the temp I use my foot. Cold - choke and a kick or two. Warm - no need for choke but still a kick or two. I won't throttle it until it's running in either situation. -

Speaking of silver spoons, i'm a little perturbed right now. My maid lost my silver spoon the other day after she got done feeding me my Fruity Pebbles. I swear if she doesn't straighten out soon she's going back to Mexico. If she goes back though I don't know what to get next her predecessor was French had to send her back because of the whole armpit thing. Maybe Chinese, I can probably get a 2 for 1 deal on them. -
These still crack me up.

I've never understood them. I've seen quite a few trucks with them lately. I've seen mostly red and purple, they need to look real. -

Best I ever got with a Ranger was 25 and my last Ranger wouldn't get over 20 very often. I went fullsize and I drive 1000 miles a week, I go through a tank of gas like it's toilet paper. 3 tanks a week lately and roughly $60/ tank. -
I guess its my turn

I've always found oral support to be the best medicine for most anything, go find a couple girls to doctor you up. -
How Much Would you pay?
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to BajaBanshee89's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I agree lowball offers don't usually work unless your goal is to look like a moron. You have to be reasonable. Take what you are willing to pay and knock $100 or 2 off and see where that gets you. -

I do work in the oil industry but unfortunately not for Bush. Somebody tell me how many gallons of gas you get out of one 55 gallon drum of oil? Don't forget you can't create something with nothing. Then take the price of a barrel and divide it by how many gallons. Add in the cost of the ethanol and other additives, taxes, refining costs, shipping costs, station profits and then add in the 8% margin from "big oil". When you get done with that find out the margin on an x-box game, a dvd, computer software, your vehicle, a bottle of water.... If you can do that and still think oil is screwing you think about the fact that demand for oil is up 800% over the last 10 years. There's another entity that robs much more out of your paycheck each week and you seemingly get nothing in return. -

Age has nothing to do with it. Gas prices suck don't get me wrong. I spend atleast $100/ week on fuel when I can't ride my crotch rocket. The thing is everybody was jumping on the Pres to fix it well tell me how he's going to do that??? Congress now won't allow drilling in Anwar, in '94 or '95 it passed congress but the Pres vetoed it saying it wasn't necessary. The gov could give you a $100 rebate and that's gonna do what fill my tank 1 1/2 times? The oil industry makes 7-9% profit on a gallon of gas while we pay $.50/ gallon taxes for our roads that are trash and don't last 5 years without needing major work from 4 guys watching 1 guy fill pot holes that only end up a bump in the road when he's done. The only thing that will cure high prices is high prices if you push for regulation it'll only drive up the price. Get this 10 years ago crude was $12/barrel and you could find gas for $.98/gallon. Crude is now $73/barrel or 6 times what it was 10 years ago, we should all be happy the price per gallon didn't go up at the same rate as the crude price and for those who can't multiply I am saying we are lucky we aren't paying $6.00/gallon.
