  1. I agree with Boonman and Frocash sounds like you welded the rod to the ball. I would take the clutch apart and use a small magnet to pull the ball and rod out and hope to hell they do come out. Do some searches for the clutch ball and I bet you'll get all kinds of info on it. And get the Clymer it's a necessity. Good Luck.
  2. Just a thought but if terrorists could vote in our upcoming election who do you think they would vote for? Maybe this question should be a poll.
  3. 2 Stroke definately. I have the only Banshee around all my friends have 4 strokes(400EX's,Raptors....) a couple two strokes (Blaster and Scrambler 400, both dissapoint me) I wouldn't trade for any of them. I ride trails and love the Banshee for it I credit it to the -2 swingarm though. I also ride mud, hills, sand bars, jumping and would only switch to my parents Sportsman 500 H.O. for the really deep mud I wouldn't want to choose a different two wheel drive than my Banshee. If I get on any of the others I feel uncomfortable. The 4 strokes do wheelie well but I can pull my front up when the 400EX is wide open. I would also say I cover more ground faster wheelieing the Banshee, I haven't gotten good at slow one's yet. I let my friend(400EX owner) ride my Banshee and I'll never forget the look on his face when he took off his helmet he honestly looked like he had seen a ghost and appeared a little shaken, no joke, and he's a balls to the walls good rider on his 400EX. I'll never sell the Banshee as long as I am able to ride it. I'd like to try a YFZ450 though. Oh also my Banshee is an 87 stock bore last rebuild in 95 or 96, bought it last year had 123 psi in both cylinders now I have put on 50+ hours and I'm down to 120 even in both, I ride really hard too sorry to say for my Banshee's sake. The rebuild is on the way but I think with proper maintenance and good oil they will last a long time.
  4. I run 16/40 gearing and the last time I raced against a 400EX he had me for the first 5 feet then it was all BANSHEE . But with my gearing if he's(400EX) pinned in 5th it's only 4th on my Banshee.
  5. I had the same problem I thought I had welded the rod to the ball that operates the clutch so I was scared to take it apart. Took off my side case and everything looked fine but the clutch basically fell off in my hand. Turns out I had sheared the little lock tab off of the washer for the nut that holds the clutch boss on, the nut unscrewed, it was under $2.00 to get a new washer but it ruined a weekend of riding. I think the Clymers says to replace the washer everytime you take the clutch off or to inspect it or something, I'd tell you what page to look on but I don't have it with me sorry. Good luck.
  6. I could really use some help on this one, thanks.
  7. BrokeStonedBiker I've had a Rockford Fosgate amp before and the rating on the amp was the rms, they even come with a sheet that shows what the peak wattage is example: mine was a 600 watt amp peak was 820. But I do agree "most" companies only show peak wattage numbers my first amp was a pyramid 300 it definately wasn't putting that out. Also I don't know if all Fosgates are labeled by rms I would assume some of there cheaper models are probably labeled with peak.
  8. I ride in Iowa and they sell gas with ethanol in it mostly 89 octane. I always run 91 or higher but lately I have been seeing ethanol in that too. I was told that ethanol would ruin my motor so I'm a little worried that sometime when I have someone else pick up gas for me that they might get the ethanol mixed gas instead. Will ethanol really ruin my motor? I was told running ethanol is like running without oil. But I know some of you run alcohol, methanol so is it a problem? I appreciate any help you have, thanks guys.
  9. Do the frames come finished or do I need to have it powdercoated? I'm sure they wouldn't come in red so i'd probably powdercoat it anyway. The spindles and everything will fit right up to the a-arms then? Also is there any year frame to avoid or have all the a-arm frames been the same?
  10. What does it take to do a total frame swap? I figure i'd need a new frame, a-arms, I need a new swingarm anyway and I figure new front shocks. What else do I need? Or should I just get a YFZ 450 and leave the Banshee the way it is? Any input? Thanks.
  11. Check out this keihin carb tech document from Duncan Racing. http://www.duncanracing.com/techfaq/Tech_k...n-jetting.phtml Since your problem is idle to 1/8 it's your pilot air screw settings and that faq tells you how to set it easily. When I first got my cv carb I took it out and whenever I pushed the throttle it would bog and then like a lightswitch unload. You just have to play with it and you'll get it.
  12. I run the DMC 916. I ride trails and drag race my friends. You can't go wrong with them and yes they do sound awesome as a bonus. But any pipe is really a good pipe find one that will make you happy and go with it.
  13. I run the dyna FS and love it, wouldn't ride without it now. The switch is useless to me I set it to what felt best and haven't touched it since. But, I wouldn't have purchased it if my cdi hadn't quit working.
  14. Check the Duncan Racing website, this really explains the keihin carb. http://www.duncanracing.com/techfaq/Tech_k...n-jetting.phtml I run a 35mm CV2 with DMC 916's 52 pilot and 195 main, running 16-40 gearing and can't keep the front down. Riding in Iowa not sure of elevation numbers.
