  1. last time i saw a spider that big it became very close friends with a propane torch.
  2. well, i wouldn't consider that the easiest way to build a shee engine, unless you plan on dropping some serious cash into one with all new parts or custom ones. but if you insist on buildin your shee this way then more power to you, on the upside you'll gain tons of knowledge about the internal workings of your motor and you can find parts almost anywhere. Personally i would try to find one that needed a rebuild or has something wrong with it. just my 2. welcome to the HQ, and good luck.
  3. i'd read it, always can use a few more pointers.
  4. i think it would have been funny if they had a 4th scenario. when the officer said, "I'm going to be placing you under arrest for your illegal modifications" the guy should have looked at him and said, "you'll never get those cuffs on me, pussy". Not very polite or considerate but i just think it would have been funny to see what happened next.
  5. sounds just like my civic ...well, minus the power , 18,000rpms , and six cylinders. Other than that they're pretty much identical. I warmed up a buddy's car like that one time and well, come to think of it that's the last time he let me warm up his car.
  6. remember what smokey says, "only you, can prevent forest fires." we need more fire
  7. you guys are killin me with all the landmark directions, someone is gonna have to grab me and soupbox because we haven't the slightest idea where any of this is , we'll wind up in michigan or something.
  8. i second the gearing problem, all you are doing is spinning and shifting.
  9. Why 2 different sizes in the 2 carbs. Why not the same size? I'm kinda confused.
  10. First off, it is a 2 smoke, kinda gotta expect the smoke on start up. But anyway mine kind of does the same then when i let it warm up, i always just thought it was kind of normal for 2 strokes to sort of load up when idling.
  11. i've ridden in the sand and mud, never had a problem yet. K&N's all the way, let that shee breathe. Oh yeah, don't forget the outerwear, that's where it can get ugly.
  12. had a buddy with one, complete mechanical moron. ran the living shit out of it, jumped, raced, revved it. you name it he did it. Still runs like a champ four years laters. just my 2.
  13. bump, let's get some more friendly chatter going guys/girls. Here ya go, I just called everyone a bunch of SMelly PiRatE hOOKers. Yeah that's right, what are you gonna do about it.
  14. Geez, just some friendly humor. I mean your are on bansheehq, not blasterhq. All jokes set aside, nice quad. Waaay better than my old quad, a sweet '93 warrior with no plastic, man that thing was SLOW . No hard feelings, good luck on selling it.
  15. T-5's all the way , i mean really who leaves thier shee stock ? No one on this site.
  16. The first thing i would do is do a compression test, cause if it still takes 2-3 kicks when it's already warm then i don't think thats normal. But first you are gonna need to find out exactly how much that head has been milled, this will affect compression, of course increase it but your are going to need to know how much compression you should have. My banshee is supposed to have around a 130psi of compression and my altitude is about a 1000ft. with a stock head, will vary depending on altitude. Also it maybe sounds like you might be lean on top, i believe popping is a indication of lean mixture, i'm sure there are other reasons for popping but that seems to be the standard fix. Lastly, what kind of pipes are you running, was just wondering because you said it had new k&n's, so i'm assuming clamp-ons. Anyways, someone correct me if i'm wrong, i believe i was told when i got my banshee that having clamp-on air filters with stock pipes will make your shee run like balls, due to, too much air in and not enough air out. Hope this helps.
  17. Adjusting your timing, in this case advancing it, usually +4 degrees, allows you to move your spark up an additional 4 degrees of crank rotation. Which in turn allows for a more complete burn of fuel before the piston reaches TDC (top dead center) during compression which provides you with more bang/power on your power/exhaust stroke. Advancing your timing increases bottom end, while retarding your timing will increase top end, but why increase the top end we all know the banshee has more than enough top , lets go ahead and help one of the banshee's weaknesses, bottom end. Also about your question where it goes? On the left side of your engine (assuming you are sitting on the bike), behind that big black plastic cover is your flywheel and behind that is your stator. Your stator is where the timing plate is placed, the stator will bolt on to the timing plate allowing you to rotate you stator in the direction desired (i believe in this case, to the right). The only tools you should need are a phillips head screwdriver and a flywheel puller. If you don't already have a flywheel puller, i'd reccomend getting one, it's a great investment for like ten bucks. I think thats right, but chime in if i missed something.
  18. I think you need a different cam or you need to sell the shee and get a blaster .....j/k. Sorry i had to put something and everyone else has already mentioned the good stuff.
  19. I was just wondering if i need to upgrade my needles, so i was wondering who was running stock needles? My mods are as listed in my signature, i've been running stock needles so far without any problems, but with the addition of a port and reeds i didnt' really know if i should upgrade. I've been told either way is fine, but i need some opinions/knowledge/experience with this. I just really hate to pay like $50 bucks for needles that i really don't need if my stock ones are fine. thanks for the advice in advance.
  20. There won't be any beer drinking will there, my mom said that was bad. Then again..... she also said that about strippers.
