Mother F*cking Exploding Grips!
cdcoxwell replied to 2004LEBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Just spray paint in the grips. It will work as a glue and a lubricate so they will slip on. Works great for me. -
Why even spend the $35. Ron's picture says it all. I'm sure if you were to PM him he could tell you what a degree equals to milimeter. I think someone posted on here that 2mm= 1 degree, I think, but don't quote me. Ask Ron. If I had know about this DO IT YOURSELF MOD, I would not have spent the money on an adjustable. BTW, I too have a RS.

The best $25 you can spend is the CLYMER REPAIR MANUAL for the 87'-2003 banshees. You will not be sorry you spent the money. It explains it in the manual. Sorry, I'm at work and I don't have my book with me or I would look it up for you. Cary

Mine is an 87' and the clymer manual states to check the lights 1. Turn the dimmer switch to the LO position. 2. Use an ohmmeter set at R x 1 and connect the 2 ohmmeter leads first to the yellow and blue wires. 3. Then to the blue and green wires. If the switch is good, there will be continuity (very low resistance).

O.K. here we go. Rick, I wanted to talk to several people before I tried to offer my opinion. First, I might would consider losing your lawyer. 2. Call the D.A. office and ask what are the laws for someone having a BILL OF SALE or RECIEPT on an item that was later reported stolen. 3. Call a CRIMINAL LAWYER not your basic everday lawyer. You don't go to a General practice doctor for a brain tumor, you go to a doctor that specializes in brains. It's no different with lawyers. It may be a $200 consiltation fee, but it may be worth every penny. If he suggest that you should pay, then and only then would I consider it. Then, Afterwards I would pursue legal actions against the parents of the thief. Having the BILL OF SALE will more than likely save your ass. That is your ace in the hole. I have a good friend that owns a pawn shop. He told me that when he pawns or hocks an item and then sales that item to another customer and then it comes up stolen that the following can take place. *The buyer loses the merchandise and the money that he paid for that product, simply because he has a reciept or bill of sale he is cleared. *The buyer then can pursue legal actions against the seller, to retrieve the money spent on the stolen item. You should be able to go after the kids parents because he is underage and they are held responsible for his actions. Sue'em for the money you may have to spend. Parents are being criminally charged everday for the actions of their children. I'm also being told by a person that works for an insurance company that works in the stolen vehicle department. She said that the only time that they proceed with legal action toward the buyer is when they feel like he knew the items were stolen. So, they may feel like you knew something about'em being stolen. It may be because you bought 2 four wheelers from a 16yr old. I don't think he can legally possess a vehicle until the ages of 18 or 19 yrs old. I think their may be laws agaisnt making certain purchases from a minor. If it souds fishy, smells fishy, it's usuall fishy. That might be their way of thinking CALL A CRIMINAL LAWYER If you feel that your are 100% in the clear. Fight it. Don't back dn. The system will pray on the weak and the kind hearted just so they can shut a case and be done with it. It is not happening to them, so why should they care.

I've heard of people have their radiators acid flushed. Can it be performed on shee's and can I do it or do I need to have it professionally done. I have an 87' and I think it wouldn't hurt her to have this done if possible. Also, shee sat up for about 12 yrs. It doesn't look ban inside the rad. but I'm sure it needs a good cleaning. Please, any suggestions. Thx guys Cary

Did you say titanium Hmmm, I bet you it does look sweeeeet Thx for the replys Cary

I'm guessing that you don't have a spark. And, do you have a clymer yamaha repair manual? Best $25 you can spend. If you don't have a spark, the two wires that will not give an ohm reading are GREEEN-TO-RED. Those are your ignition wires. The reading for those two wires are 13.7-20.5. I just replace my statar about a month ago.

thx alot guys, I will go ahead a order sprockets as well.

Hey guys, is one chain better than another? Noway around it, I have to buy one. And also, can someone shed some lite on the front and back sprockets. I have heard some talk about changeing'em out w/more or less teeth. What are the pro's and con's of doing that. And is it more teeth or less teeth?

Gas Pouring Out Of Carb Drain Hose
cdcoxwell replied to cdcoxwell's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thx again guys, I'm so pumped I think I will be abel to go to sleep tonight. Those guys told me that it would cost 1500-$2000 and I got her running for $135. Those BASTARDS. They even tried to buy her off of me for $250 to part out. They said it would cost to much to fix. Those bastards wanted her for themselves. Crooked bastards . Shame Shame -
Gas Pouring Out Of Carb Drain Hose
cdcoxwell replied to cdcoxwell's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I just didn't want to have to take the carb apart again. Thx guys, that is the first thing I'm going to do in the morning. I'm off for the next couple of days. -
The gas is not dripping but pouring out of the right carb drain tube. A member suggested that I tap it w/a screwdriver thinking that the float might be stuck, and I did and still gas pouring. Any suggestions.

Gas Pouring Out Of Carb Drain Hose
cdcoxwell replied to cdcoxwell's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I was wrong, I actually foregot that I had turn the fuel switch to off. Once I turned it back to on shee starts pouring out again. It's not dripping it is POURING. It still may be that, but if there is anything that I need to chk or how exactly I can fix the float. Please do tell. Thx -
way back when, the throttle cable broke and I was unable to spend the money on her at that monment. I also was out of town for about a yr. When I got the cable and tried to crank her, NOTHING. To make a long story short, I was told by a couple of yamaha machanics that it would take around $1500-$2000 just to get her running again. I didn't know if I wanted to put that much money in her. My brother was killed in a car accident aroung 92' and that is how I came into possessing the shee. So, oneday I just said the hell with them all, I will figure out how to fix her myself. It is the only thing that I have of my brothers and I am going to restore her no matter what it takes. It was the statar, $135 latter and shee is somewhat running. Cary
-
My shee hasn't been cranked since 93' or 94'. I replace the statar, took TORS off and cleaned carbs. AND SHEE FREAKIN CKRANED ON THE FIRST KICK. I can not believe this. Shee's not idleing that great, but shee is running. UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABEL. Any suggestions on what to do to her since shee hasn't been running in almost 12 years
