  1. HPI makes some fantastic stuff. I've got one of the HPI Micros, all decked out (and for sale, too, if anyone's interested -- RTR -- PM me). You won't go wrong with their stuff.
  2. ATF type F here too, though not as many miles/years as some of you have BTW, for those mentioning Dexron, etc, you *want* to use Type F -- something about the additives in it. But, there's nothing wrong with running it in the shee, at least not thus far for me. And whoever said it didn't have lubricating properties... sure it does It may not have the same properties as 10w30 but it has more than enough for the bottom end, if you keep it changed.
  3. The novas are good. I've put countless rounds through my 12 gauge Nova Pump and its always worked perfectly. Even cycles those damn 1 3/4" shells on the pump. The mercury recoil reducer kit for mine was like $50 or something.. maybe $60, don't remember. Good guns though. Absolutely infatuated with this M1014 now though..
  4. I have a Benelli Nova Pump 12 gauge, 28" barrel... and now, a Benelli M1014 that gun is FANTASTIC. it was a gift.. a pricey one.. but fantastic. best defense gun ever but..hell.. expensive.
  5. Eheheheeh.. hardware wars.. My work machine: Pentium 4 HT, 3.2 Ghz 2GB PC3200 (excessive, yes,but they ordered it -- not me) Adaptec 29320 scsi card, and dual 72GB U320 (15,000RPM) scsi drives (not raid tho.. not yet ) DVD+R/RW That's the meat and taters. yadda yadda yadda The other one is running dual Xeons with a similar config, but U160 SCSI (still faster than SATA.. mwa ha haha!). 3.6ms access on a 15,000RPM drive... it is downright insane. SATA still can't touch it. ----gonna piss off a few people here----- and none run Windows. I use an OS that actually KNOWS HOW TO MANAGE MEMORY (Linux). Virtual memory? Blahhhhh.. hasn't used it, ever. So, needless to say, it runs fast fast fast. Plus, no antivirus products, spyware/spamware/adware, or bi-hourly security updates because some overpaid lazy ass at M$ can't code worth dick
  6. Haven't seen it around.. a lil pricey, but, how many jugs does it take for a fill-up? Definitely sounds worth it.
  7. On my s10 (fleetside) I still run into the wheel well problems. If you have to load it by yourself, there's a way. 1) get ramps 2) hook a tie-down strap into one of the forward tie downs in the bed, stretch it out to the end of the bed 3) push the quad as far up the ramps as you can, to the wheel wells 4) hook the strap through the frame, grab bar, whatever, and tighten it. I just hold the front brakes while I do this -- doesn't go anywhere 5) climb in the front of the bed, grab the front bumper, and just pull it the rest of the way in, and over the wheel wells. This assumes you can lift the front end of the shee w/o too much difficulty, but, it works on the smaller trucks.
  8. Celerons aren't too bad... they suffer in the L2 cache size and bus speed, but.. they work.
  9. Well no.. didn't exactly slop it all over the place. I know how to use the correct amount... but, likewise, i have seen others lose CPUs to condensation build-up because they didn't learn the finer points.
  10. Only once have I extremely overclocked something... and just strapped a monster Peltier to it with lots o' thermal paste and life was good.
  11. "Unlawfully" probably means anything from "i cut you, foo!" to killing 'em, yep. Now i got to thinking about that Simpsons scene. Wiggum: "Well, shut my month. It's also illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling."
  12. So lets hear those whacked out and downright dumb laws for your various states. I know there's plenty Just ran into this lovely blurb from Michigan's pistol laws FAQs. http://www.michigan.gov/msp/0,1607,7-123-1...10953--,00.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- 19. Is it illegal to have a knife with a blade over 3 inches in my possession? MCL 750.226 No. Michigan law specifies that a person, with intent to use the knife unlawfully against another, shall not go armed with a knife having a blade over 3 inches in length. -------------------------------------------------------------------- so lets hear 'em people..
  13. that was funny!
  14. 2-cycle oil, Yamabond #4, seals, and white lithium grease. I've only done it a couple of times now but... Lube the crank bearings, needle bearings, etc up with whatever oil you use for premix. Clean the case halves as best as possible, and use a thin coat of Yamabond #4 on the mating surface on both case halves -- a tube of it costs like $5 at the Stealership and is more than enough to do this multiple times. Spend a few bucks and get new seals -- coat the wear parts on them with white lithium grease before reassembling. It'll help them seat as best as possible. There's probably some other tips/tricks that others who've done this many times can offer.. the above has worked well for me the couple times thus far though
  15. darn, someone beat me to it. 1400x1050 on the laptop, and 3200x1200 on the desktop (dual 19" LCDs)
  16. If you're tired of the imperial hand of Micro$oft and advertisements and all that good stuff, you can use AMSN: http://amsn.sourceforge.net/ Its a little different but for those who use the basic features (chat, file transfer, yadda yadda) and want something a little less.. dictatorship-like, give it a try.
  17. Here's the working link http://www.segway.com/centaur/
  18. very nice! my gf loves her cats -- just read that to her and now she wants to kill somebody
  19. its definitely not normal -- if it was, there would not be nearly as many (if any) diehard Banshee owners. they're great machines but as other folks have mentioned... they need some time and effort put into them to get things perfect.
  20. I'm partial to Turf Tamers, actually. They work well on a variety of surfaces, are pretty economical, and you can always cut them so they hook up better on different surfaces.
  21. For a fresh start: Boot off of the XP CD. When it asks you where to install XP and has your hard drive(s) listed, highlight the one listed as C and hit D to delete it -- pretty sure it's D, its one of the choices in the menu above it. It'll then ask you to comfirm and hit L or something silly. It will then show up as "Unpartitioned space". Now when it asks you where to install XP, choose that "Unpartitioned Space" ((where the C drive used to be) and it will ask you how you want to format it -- NTFS (Quick) is the best choice, IMHO.
  22. fixitrod's got it right. Should you be elsewhere with no access to the web at the time, it is some basic math. The degrees will always read the same (i.e.,, 37' 0 min, or 37.000 degrees) but the minutes are the issue. If its in decimal, i.e., 37.1234, just multiply the fraction portion (.1234) by 60 and you'll get the minutes -- in this case, its approximately 9 minutes. If its 43.500 degrees, it just becomes 43 degrees, 30 minutes. It gets a little more complex when you figure seconds into it... and the website will help. You can just know that its like... 9.8 minutes and do the same X 60 thing to the .8 part again. Its basic math but can get messy
  23. THe edges of the star are rounded off, and it gives much nicer shifts. No more really harsh shifting. Before: After:
  24. Guy did exactly that on mine, cracked it (the upper) and replaced it, and they fit together nicely. Woulda just welded up the upper but he replaced it so... no complaints
  25. Its funny, ironically, but the lightened flywheel helped my "low" end out. Might be because it just gets out of the low end quicker.. revs quicker, etc. Dunno but mine's definitely got more pep off the line.
