  1. aren't ya glad to be back and notice the picture of "somebody's" ass still in tithead's avatar?
  2. I think he uh... meant... in the tub I agree with CEJ - so damn sick of "reality TV". Its all ridiculous.
  3. It is improper to use an adjective such as "damn" with the word "titties", unless referring to "big damn titties" or similar. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH BOOBS. hooray for boobies
  4. Got it. Doesn't sound too bad to do then. Looks like a pound of baking soda and a 5 gallon pail after the muriatic acid for etching is the best way to finish it. Then, epoxy away. Thanks a bunch for the info!
  5. Ah, good to hear. What kind of prep did you do? I see it recommends using some concrete etch stuff to prep it.
  6. Hey - building a house right now! (hence the reason I haven't been on in forever..) We're going to do a lot of the finish work ourselves. I want to get some sort of good coating on the garage floor (will be bare concrete) - something that will deal with oil, antifreeze, trans fluid, brake fluid, dirt, muck, grease, etc. Something that is able to just be degreased and hosed down from time to time, easy to clean and maintain. Thoughts? I had just looked at epoxy coatings, like the Seal-Krete stuff they sell at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Not sure how that will hold up in the long run. anyway thanks for any advice!
  7. Sorry, couldn't resist... sorry if this is a repost.
  8. How freaking stupid they are. Shoot at the ambulance chopper hauling people out - then bitch because they won't fly in and help. Wouldn't risk my life for ungrateful assholes trying to shoot at me. suzuki0702: I can understand your loss of faith in this country, but - a lot of the crap that happens is because of the level of freedom we have. It's a tradeoff - live in a country that's free free free... but have to deal with the assholes that are always trying to get something for nothing. Its a tradeoff...
  9. And for all the people that got out of there but still lost their houses, possessions, etc? An extra $5-15 on a fill-up (maybe more, sorry - just guestimating) doesn't even begin to touch somebody losing everything they own - whether they "got the fuck out of dodge" or not - or even the inconvenience involved with losing your home whether it's insured or not. Homes lost, jobs lost.. so on and so forth. Nutshell: yeah, I too have a lacking of sympathy for the people who stuck around but had the option to get out. But - regardless of what decisions somebody made prior to the storm, what they lost is a hell of a lot more than some extra cash at the pump for us.
  10. Eh, don't mind me... just... kinda pissed off at the whole situation. Yeah, I think it sucks for folks who can't afford it. I know a lot of people that are very tightly budgetted and this will hurt them - mostly referring to the folks who are just complaining about a few dollars more and not really seeing the broad picture, and where they *could* be right now..
  11. Okay, feel free to flame away at me for saying this but... Today... been listening to my coworkers bitch about how hard it has made their lives to spend an extra $5-15 on a fill-up and how "it's just not fair" when, in my opinion, they should shut the hell up and be grateful they aren't stranded in New Orleans, minus their homes, posessions, or families. I don't like the prices either and it hurts me just as bad but holy hell it could be much worse for any of us... Just my opinion.
  12. I can give you the info on fixing your icon backgrounds... Start -> Control Panel -> System Click the "Advanced" tab Click the Settings button under the "Performance" section. Check the box labeled "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" Click OK. As for Norton... eeek. Not sure. I'd just remove it, clean any spyware/adware from the system, and reinstall it.
  13. Short answer is no, unless you find somebody willing to let you ride on their land. (I'm in Ann Arbor myself). No real riding areas around that I'm aware of. Have an area down SW of Saline which is only a ~30 minute drive from Ann Arbor, and a good chunk off of space off of Whitaker road (Huron exit for Ypsilanti, then South), but neither is a public riding area... north on US-23, past 96, there is supposedly some area to ride, but not sure where exactly it is.
  14. (I'm not anti-ford but had to put my car acronyms in!) FORD: Found on Road Dead Fucked Over Recycled Dodge Fix Or Repair Daily Fast Only Rolling Downhill AUDI: Another Useless Deutsche Invention BMW: Bought My Wife DODGE: Drips Oil, Drops Grease Everywhere HYUNDAI: Hope You Understand Nothing's Drivable And Inexpensive OLDSMOBILE: Old Ladies Driving Slowly Make Others Behind Infuriatingly Late Everyday TOYOTA: Taking Our Yen Out Through Australia VOLVO: Very Odd Looking Vehicular Object VW: Virtually Worthless ...and the list goes on and on. Those are just a few I can remember offhand..
  15. The MI state parks have gone up I do believe... plus, they're more now for out-of-state folks than in-state folks. I just ante up for the $20 or $25 for the yearly deal and end up using it like 30 times a summer at least. I don't mind a few extra bucks in the year, IF it is going towards something useful... but yeah, how are we to know...?
  16. Here's the scoop -- if it is a CDMA compatible phone, you just need the drivers for it to work in Windows. Then, download this app called BitPim (just Google for it). It will basically let you view the filesystem on any generic CDMA-compatible phone. I've got the Motorola V710 (Verizon) and damned if i'm paying to be able to download pictures i take, which, btw, i don't really take any There are other apps too -- you can use the MPT (Motorola Phone Tools), which I can hook you up with a copy of.. it's pretty nice, but sometimes it works with some phones, sometimes it doesn't. If you have a genuine OE Motorola data cable for it, your chances are pretty good. Either way, BitPim *should* read it just fine.. its not pretty, but it works!
  17. ...though if you search the web for her, you'll find *numerous* instances of where her live non-lip-synched (yeah, there's a few of 'em) performances were off key and downright horrible. My $.02 is that she used her sister's fame, got one song which she *may or may not even be the singer of*, and is proving her [lack of] skill more every day. SNL is just the beginning.
  18. i got a pair of steel toed cat boots... they're actually pretty darn comfortable! They double as my "don't want to get too gear'd up" riding boots too and whoever said cops... its RENT-A-COP, not cops. and if they hurt your arches, get ones with more or less arch support. buy the inserts, or get new insoles. I put a poofy new set of insoles in my running shoes with better arch support, and voila, no more posterior tibalis tendonitis (a form of.. a.k.a.. shin splints)
  19. First off, yeah, check what type of memory is in there and make sure its all the same speed. Second.. if you're sure the memory is good (e.g., testing it in another machine - NIB doesn't mean it is good), flash the BIOS. I've seen glitches with certain BIOS versions that will do that. Third.. get a new mobo might be a bad memory slot. have seen those more than a few times too -- a batch of newer Thinkpads we recently got had a bunch of bad slots.
  20. I like the Ceet covers. Had one with the kevlar deal on my second CR500, and it was a lot nicer than the stocker.
  21. ah, I took those before putting my Eggbeaters on..
  22. Nice bike! it was a close call for me on buying a softtail or hard tail, but not doing any large drops or anything so the hardtail works out nicely. plus it came along for a steal.. nice bike though.
  23. Okay, no jokes about activities not involving 4 wheels and a motor... Anybody into moutain biking? looking for some fun places to go in Michigan, preferably southern MI, but.. wherever! Just wondering how many of you folks ride.. also, a good opportunity to show off my new bike... its got a few mods, and a SID carbon race fork on it. Pretty darn light. Trek 9.8 Elite -- full carbon fiber frame. Clicky clicky for a slightly bigger pic'y
  24. Oh yeah Lockhart-Phillips has some really great stuff, especially if you're looking for bling, and especially on the side of anodized stuff.
  25. Dennis Kirk always seems to have a good selection of stuff for sport bikes -- though, overpriced, and i hate their online catalog with a passion -- but it works. If you find what you want, shop around for price.. they've matched prices on a few things for me in the past and always ship pretty quick so occasionally I order from 'em, but.. yeah definitely shop price.
