  1. For the record... I didn't do these or they'd be done neater Bought it that way. Looks okay though considering they did it in about 30 seconds with a dremel in Oklahoma...
  2. Farm land (orchards), more farm land, some woods... and farm land.
  3. So the verdict is.... if you hold the choke plunger out it starts up great. It took 2 kicks, and the first kick the plunger wasn't even held out. The plunger is working properly because after it was warmed up, I pulled it out and it almost stalled the beastie. So, for now at least, thats the way around. It starts in the cold! Yay!
  4. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21125 All you'd ever want to know. Mine's getting switched to that later this week, as soon as I find someone who carries it around here..
  5. The top end is pretty much new and the compression is great. The choke doesn't really feel spring loaded -- just like there's a vacuum pulling it back. Haven't tried holding it out and kicking it yet.. that'll be tomorrow night's activity (online test tonight for a class.. grrrr!) Anyway.. will try tomorrow and let you people know Hopefully it starts fine and I save a few bucks by not having to replace that choke plunger assembly. Thanks for the ideas!
  6. Eeek... ether is one thing I won't try on mine. Even the stuff with the upper cylinder lube is still scary to me. Well... time for a new choke Is this a dealer-only item or are there aftermarket replacements for it? I'm ordering a bunch of junk soon which is why I asked...
  7. Mine definitely doesn't stay out.. kind of thought that was weird but hey... never had one before The crossover tube appears to be in good shape but... anything on the other side (right side) that needs to be changed too? Thanks for the ideas.. its somewhere to start!
  8. I'm used to my 900RR choke... those are vacuum-slide carbs on that. The choke comes out and stays out until you tell it to go back in Mine doesn't appear to though. Whats teh story on getting a new plunger? How much, and how hard is it to replace? If thats the deal, I want to get it done *now*. As mentioned... if you pull it out, it goes right back in.. like vacuum pulling it back in. So... no ideas. Carb gurus?
  9. Not sure if the choke is okay. I'm used to the ones that you flip and leave and then just flip back when you want to turn them off. This pulls out and promptly goes right back in. Almost like a primer would. For this to stay out, I have to hold it out. Somewhere I read about these being vacuum activated or something, so not sure if that has anything to do with it. It does have a small hose going to the right carb, right about where the choke would be. Ideas?
  10. I like to ride year round... however, the hard starting in the winter is a pain. Been reading through the following thread: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21558 Anybody have any agreements/disagreements on that iridium plug for winter? Any other cold weather starting tips or tricks? Currently I'm mixing 32:1 with Yamalube 2-R and jetted pretty close to perfect (slightly rich) for the current weather. Just looking for any tips, tricks, or ideas. Thanks!
  11. The rotor appears to be okay but the pads need replacing. I'm almost 100% a front brake person but its nice to have the rear ones there Sintered vs. ceramic vs. normal (what is "normal"?). Just would like something basic, nothing that will evaporate into a cloud of brake dust in a week, but nothing so hard that it will tear the rotor to pieces either. Thanks!
  12. Not to whore up your thread... but does anyone know who makes different colors of taillight lenses for the Banshee? I'm a fan of good old red.. but one of my riding buddies isn't.
  13. Agreed... for a stock engine, thats a good mod. When you start porting and doing other crazy things that demand high airflow, the dual is the way to go. Jetting on the Mikunis is about a 2 minute ordeal I wish they'd have made one of the nice access holes in the bottom like a lot of the Keihin ones have. Oh well.. just 4 screws.
  14. I have the DG Alloy Series. They aren't polished or chromed but they work really well with the stock pegs. Just some good basic nerfs.
