  1. I have heard of the clear ones before. Just paint the underside and seal it up real good, and kazaam, no more scratched paint. (just scratched plastic)
  2. woohoo man!! congrats!!
  3. just this last year over 4th of July, i was out riding with a group of friends whan we saw a bunch of paramedics heading out to a crash site. On our way back to the trucks we happened to drive right to the scene. A guy on a beautiful 250r riding with his 4 year old son, collided with a forest service vehicle that had come out of a blind corner. The son ended up with a broken collarbone, arm, and a big laceration on his forehead. His father broke his neck on the forest service vehicle. But did not make it. Seeing something like that really plays on the heartstrings. i know i didnt feel invincible for the rest of the day!!
  4. i just bought a set of34 pj.s off ebay for 100 bucks shipped. check e bay out!!
  5. check out sandlakeduners.com. there are alot of riders from the portland area. i am sure you will find someone to ride with there!!
  6. Hey gus, cmon give the guy a break. maybe his clocking device was out of whack!! ......cough.cougbullcoughshitcough
  7. all you have to do is reserve some spots. log on to reserveamerica.com and reserve your spots with a credit card. that way you dont have to worry about first come first serve!! i live in north bend, im me before you leave and i am sure i can make it out for a while.
  8. I cant agree with you all more. The small percentage of "trashers" are ruining the fun for everyone. I live on the oregon coast and see what people leave behind after camping, and it pisses me off to no end. I have filled my truck up more than once picking up after other idiots. id like to find out where thy live and have it all dumped in their front yards!! maybe then they may open their eyes.
  9. do you ever make it a little further south? like to coos bay? i have a friend that may be interested in your pipes, and i may be interested in the back shock!!
  10. good luck man, we all hope for a quick recovery!! nobody should be without the ability to ride their shee.
  11. a lot of people on this site talk about the 12 port passion. from what i have heard he will port it to your riding style and does an awesome job. he visits this site regularly, you may want to pm him for info.
  12. I have been building mine for about 2 years. Last years teardown was all about the motor. Teardown, port and polish, +4 crank, new clutch. This year it is the complete teardown. New +6 swingarm YFZ450 shocks Billet:stator cover, brake resevoir, waterpump cover, clutch insert, and on and on. Lonestar axle Everything chromed(on its way to the shop now ) Braided lines and a lot of other stuff, i figure about 4000 for the bike and about 3500 after. whooo, thinkin about it ....dang, thats all i can say
  13. if you are thinking about racing, then engine mods will do you good, but you will also need suspension. the more power you have the harder it is going to be to control. just my .02 cents
  14. that must have been a completely "maintanence free" bike
  15. Just 2 weeks ago, I got a 2+2 lanestar axle for 235 shipped. I was the only bidder and couldnt believe it. It was on a drag race quad, and was in perfect condition.
  16. Put your shift shaft on a straight edge. I would bet it has a little wow to it. Replace it and it should shift fine. Mine had the exact same problem at the beginning of summer last year. Hope this helps!! too bad you already tore apart the bottom end. It is a really easy fix! i think my new shift shaft cost like 38 bucks.
  17. Most definately, without a doubt, cpi's.From what i have seen, they do very well in the sand. Riding in the dunes, who needs bottom end anyway?
  18. just wondering if anyone has tried the a arm bearings instead of bushings. if so what do you think? i would like to get a set, but want others opinions first.
  19. i dont know if tires are going to have that much of an impact on the feel through the handlebars. if i were you i would check into some aftermarket steering stems. then check out some steering dampers. that should take care of the bump from the bars.
  20. this is one of my favorites a little long though: a koala is walking down the street, and a prostitute comes up to him and asks him if he wants some sexual favors. the koala thinks this is cool so he agrees. they head to a mutual love shack and do thier business. the koala gets up and heads for the door, wait the prostitute says, im a prostitute.. do you know what that is? the koala says no, and the prostitute hands him a dictionary. he reads: prostitute..someone who does sexual favors for money. the koala thinks this is all fine and hands the dictionary back to the prostitute and says..look up koala. she flips through the pages and reads.. koala, furry little animal that eats bush and...leaves!
  21. if you bent it once, you will probably bend it again! buy a lonestar!!
  22. how much power do you have? the less power, the less aggressive tire, the more power, the more aggressive. i run 10 paddle taller haulers, they throw a ton of sand!! and wide open, you dont want to be within 150 feet behind me.
  23. since i live so close, i have a lot of friends that are gouing to be holding spots for me. my goal is to get at least 20 spots, if we can put together enough riders.
  24. check plugs, do a compression check, also check your gas. that is a start! has the performance been desreasing gradually, or all at once?
  25. Put a banshee motor in it!! how long have you had the bike? has it always run like that? does it smoke alot? try replacing the spark plug. if it is bad, that will make it a lot harder to start.
