  1. Both bikes are great sand bikes. Banshees, in my opinion, are a much better duner. Nothing has the balls to the wall hit of a banshee on the pipe!! BANSHEES RULE!!
  2. As far as climbing goes...put about 1000 bucks into a pred 90 and it will outclimb a 400ex!! a better clutch, higher comp head, pipe, better rev box, and a ported cylinder. As my daughters riding abilities increase..i am going to do just that. I know it sounds crazy but it happens
  3. Lockouts are generally a win, win situation. They create much better hookup. It basically turns your basket clutch into a centrifugal clutch. The harder the engine revs, the more the clutch grabs. Clutches last a lot longer...like 3 to 4 times longer. The only draw back I have heard from using these, is under power, the clutch is much harder to pull in. a lot of people i have seen, run only three springs to help alleviate this problem. Most people that have installed them, ould not go back to a stock clutch for any reason.
  4. Where exactly is the crack? A lot of spots can be welded up, but the motor has to be completely taken apart to do so. Find a good welder that has the apparatus to weld aluminum, and see what he(or she ) says.
  5. It depends on how well the bike, and the motor are tuned. As well as rider capability. A very well tuned bike with a great rider will turn high 3's to low 4's. in 300 feet
  6. Ok...let me see..carry the one, subtract the two, multiply by .0125..twist the gumber, then shake the lurbon.....i think i see about 47.113423435556488374659993 rwhp. Should be a pretty torquey bansh though
  7. drill a hole in it and use an easy out. But heat the hell out of it first
  8. i dont think i could have said it any better myself!! I really agree with these alcohol bans. They have already issued them here in Oregon. The amount of alcohol related injuries is down, as well as all the garbage left at the places where everyone likes to congregate. These were two huge issues that were threatening on closing the dunes. This is where they "met in the middle". Sure, i enjoy to have a drink every once in a while...but there is a time and a place. They do allow drinking on developed(paved) areas, including the day use, just not on the open sand. The only downfall I see to this, are the few that will pound down a 6 pack after a good ride, and then head out again.
  9. the dealership should have them. I think they are like 20 bucks or so
  10. wtf? not gonna ask any questions, because i dont think i want to know!!
  11. I had kind of the same problem last summer. Kept cranking the sum bitch down as hard as i could, but would still slip. I found that tightening the top bolt, and the bottom nut together made a big difference. It seems that when i tightened just the top, the carrier was not recieving equal pressure. Watching it tighten down i could see this. That is when i decided to try top and bottom till neither would move. One turn on top, one turn on bottom until both are tight. Have not had any problems since. Well see how it works when i get the cubs put on though
  12. Holy shit firemann!! I wish and pray for you and your family. There are no words to help in a situation like this. I feel every person on this site has your back and will be here for you through the whole ordeal!!
  13. There are a few good places to camp here in coos bay. The KOA campground has full hookups. The horsfall campground is just a slab with lines in it...no hookups. As far as getting a spot the weekend befor mem. day....good luck. I would give a call as soon a possible to see what they have...the number is....541-756-4851. If you are gonna make it...shoot me a pm of what site you are in and we will go throw some sand!!
  14. Coos Bay/North Bend here. Always riding the dunes!!
  15. i tore the cylinders of my girlfriend shee today and started polishing. I have worked on these for about 4 hours......still about and hour or so to go

  17. My wishes are with Led!! I hope for a speedy and full recovery!! i think that would cheer anyone up!!
  18. i cant seem to get past 89..startin to get pissed off!!lol
  19. boy DNH, you can say that again!! I dont have a problem with a few drinks, but for all those that go to the dunes to get plastered, then ride...makes everyone that rides the dunes on the big weekends look bad. I live here in Coos Bay, and have many times after big weekends picked up trash that was left behind. From beer bottles to torn tents to magnesium blocks they couldnt get to burn. The list goes on and on. I think the limits are good...though i wish there were more spots to camp. I think it will give the people that use the dunes in the "right" way the kudos they deserve, and the people that trash the dunes the lashing they deserve. i feel that if we would have taken care of the dunes in the first place, this would have never happened!!
  20. Those are some pretty sweet numbers!! 80-100 hp on a banshee just got a lot cheaper, and easier to get!!
  21. dude, that is a great deal!! If you dont pick it up, i will.
