  1. Congrats. We were so close to getting a WW Superlight but the guy would not budge on the price and it was just out of our range. It didn't have the generator or the fueling station either. I liked the layout of the WW much better though. Post some pics of the new one when you get it up and running. RJV
  2. I am not a big fan of Dirt Wheels Magazine but in the latest issue they have the very first report on the original Banshee. Spend the 5 or 6 bucks and pick up the mag and read that article. Then if you get a chance, ride one and you will understand what the Banshee is all about.
  3. Monday Conversation with James "Bubba" Stewart Story and photos by Steve
  4. Thought I would revive this thread since it is the season for a lot of us instead of starting a new one. Just picked this up. We are excited and can't wait to use it. Though the poor Bronco is still looking in its contract to see where it signed up to have to pull something like this Anyone else picked up any toys since the last time this thread was up and running? RJV
  5. I agree, set a time and I will be there, make sure you let everyone know the time zone so we can all be there at the right time. I use my last name and the #13 if I need to. RJV
  6. How many 250 AMA Championships does he have? And if I was out there hanging with RC and Windham, then I could say he hasn't proven himself yet? What difference would that make? Ok, then when I see you doing the same thing then you can tell me he has proven himself. Being fast and having talent does not make you a champion. Neither does crashing out and breaking early in a series. And when you start a season out with a couple DNFs it doesn't look to good. Like I said before, the rumor is he went in for a medical eval after last weeks DNF. Maybe there is a reason for him dropping out, Kawasaki is has not said anything about it so who knows. We will see what happens today. Maybe he will take a moto win or even the overall for the day. I personally doubt it. Even if he does take the win, his chances at taking the championship are slim to none. I said in an earlier post when he matures he will be a force but does he have the staying power of guys like RC, Mike, Chad, Windham or McGrath. Or go back a little further, what about Jeff Emig, Jeff Ward, Rick Johnson or Bob Hannah? He needs to earn his stripes. He is fast and I enjoy watching him race as much as the next guy but he needs to get a 250 championship under his belt and that task will not be easy with the likes of Reed, RC and Windham. RJV
  7. For the Bubba Believers, the video link is down the page. clicky Not sure where it is at, looks like a local track by the way he was goin by the other guys out there. RJV
  8. What is your problem?
  9. And who are you? I was simply posting an opinion for conversation sake. I do race. I am not pro and have never claimed to be. I don't claim to know everything, never have. I have been riding motorcycles since I was three and I know what works for me when I ride. I enjoy it and am competative. I am very dissapointed with Bubba's performance in the outdoor series thus far. I have not heard yet that there is a medical issue however I know he was schedualed for a check up early this week. I never said anything negative about his person other than he comes across very arrogant in his interviews at times. As to how I "talk about people" what are you getting at? I said nice things about Chad Reed, Ricky, Larrocco and gave credit to Bubba for the wins he had.....so what is the problem? And do you have an opinion on the racers or the seasons or are you just going to jump in here and throw out some kind of shot at me? My opinion is based upon what I have seen in the past couple seasons and this season in particular. You have never seen me ride, heard me give an interview or talk down any of the people I ride with and or against. RJV
  10. If you are going to do mx, you would be money ahead in the long run if you bought a YFZ and learned to ride the four-stroke. Keep your current bike whatever you decide, especially if you buy a YFZ, then you have one of each. If you were going to buy the 06 and set it up for sand, I would say go for it but i dont think that is in your plans at all. Go with an MX bike for MX. RJV
  11. I think they shaved two pounds off, added 26cc (which is close to what the LRD kit adds) beefed up the suspension, changed the a-arm bend, lowered the seat height and added fuel injection. Pretty impressive list of changes. Even with all of that though, I do not think it will beat a banshee with standard mods. Spend 7K on a raptor and beat a couple stock shee's or go drop 4500 on a used shee with some mods and on any given day beat most of your competitors. I will say this though, Yamaha knows what they are doing. That bike does look mean and the updates on paper seem very impressive. I like the rest of you are looking forward to seeing one on the dunes, woods and at the track. RJV
  12. Larocco is a machine. Nothing bad can be said about the guy. He puts in his time, he competes as hard as anyone else out there and is phenominal shape. Take away Ricky, Chad and Stewart he would be the top dog. Windham is good but lacks the consistency of Mike. Just my opinion though. There is a ton of great tallent out there and on any given day they could podium. I am watching Hepler pretty close, I think if he can shake the funk he seems to be in right now he will have the longevity and success in the future. RJV
  13. I agree that RC had a serious attitude early on. His maturity seemed to start after he won his first championship with Kawasaki. I also agree that when Stewart settles down he will be a force in the 250 class. My issue with him is the same as a lot of other people, he would not shut his mouth before coming into this season. Anyone know why the DNF this weekend? RJV
  14. Bubba choked in supercross, crashing out and breaking basically ending his season. When he came back he got a couple wins but did not win all of them like everyong thought he would. Now move to MX. Three rounds down. DNF the first round, 2nd to RC in the second round and another DNF in the third round. I am really starting to think he just does not have what it takes to get it done. I know he is young and has a lot of time to get it together but for his debut 250 season he really has not impressed me. Any other views or comments????? By the way, I had my doubts about RC this season but he is the man right now. I know Chad got a moto on him today but RC still got the overall. Gotta tip my hat to the #4. RJV
  15. I am going to be a dad! It only took 3 years of practice We just found out. I am pretty freakin excited. I had to tell someone. Take care you all!! RJV
  16. If it is in good mechanical condition, then yes it is a good deal. Like mentioned earlier, it would be 2grand more to get one off the show room floor when you could drop an extra 3-500 and get new plastic if you wanted and still be way ahead. Just my 2 cents...... RJV
  17. Yes, "Open". This edition is 1990. I prayerfully read each verse and passage before I post, that is why it takes me a while to respond. RJV
  18. Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville TN My Bible says..."And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God" Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega" says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" John1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it. I am interested in what you have to say. I do not see Jesus refering to God as Father as an evidence that He is not God. Throughout the Bible we, Christians, are continually refered to as the children of God. John 1:12 But as many as received Him , to them he gave the right to become children of God...... Jesus calling God father continually presents to us the relationship we are to have with God through Him. That we are children of God and we should look to God as our heavenly Father. Moving on, a little more about Jesus being God, we established above that the Word (Jesus) was God in John 1:1 Now in John 1:14 And the Word (that was God) became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Holy I am praying about this and look forward hearing your views on this. Just as I do not expect to change your mind, don't be dissapointed if you don't change my mind. The more we talk about this and the more I look into the word of God, the more convinced I am that Jesus is God. Fully man, yet fully God. RJV
  19. Nope, a jeep and a chevy, My Bronco made it down without a problem Speaking of which, I am looking at a extended cab Dodge Diesel hopefully in the next six months or so. Anything I should look for or avoig in a used rig? RJV
  20. I believe Jesus is God. I believe there are aspects of God that we as humans limited by time, space, physics etc. simply can not completely understand. Like how could God be Jesus and Jesus be God at the same time. In the previous post I set forth some arguments why I believe Jesus is God quoting scripture. Here is another... Isaiah 9:6-7 for a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, ON the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts wll accomplish this. There are more but I got to get to work. Night shift has taken a toll on me and I am getting to the end of my rotation which means I sleep more and more after work so I don't have the time to post everything right now. I am going to turn the table on you a little here, show me in the Bible that Jesus is not God. I'm looking for something other than Jesus refering to God as his Father. Take care, RJV
  21. Congrats dude that is very cool. She's due in november so the little guy will be around for all the big Holidays (and the misses will be happy too im sure) so the family can start spoiling him right away. The wife and I have been trying for a couple years now....goin to see a specialist on 7-1-05, kind of a last ditch effort. I keep telling her all we need to do is practice more often but she doesn't seem to agree Congratulations again..... RJV
  22. Monday, had one of the best riding days in a long time. The sand was great, the weather was perfect and good friends were with me. However, getting there was a whole 'nother story. Three rigs leave, one an hour ahead of the rest to get a good parking spot. When the other two leave together, they get a call from the first truck saying, I broke down about 20 miles from home . The second truck turns around to pick up a fourth truck with intent of leaving the first truck on the side of the road. (Have I lost you yet, we have one rig broke down and we are not even a fourth of the way there). Now it gets good, the fourth truck, ie back up truck, it breaks down before it reaches the first truck!!!! We now have two broke trucks and a trailer full of bikes and gear on I5!!!!! In the mean time, the wives are at a Truck stop drinkning coffee getting a little ajitated. The story ends when the driver of the first truck tells us he now has two rigs to fix and won't be going. We take off (two rigs) and still make it b 1000am. It is amazing how something so simple can go so incredibly wrong!!! Any way, as I mentioned the day turned out really good for us with some awsome riding. Just thought I'd share cuz how often do you break two rigs in a matter of about 30mins? RJV
