  2. SUPPOSED TO BE 65 IN MI TODAY!! Yeeeeeee haaaaaaww
  3. Nice chart! Thanks all for the help, its nice to have this for reference!
  4. Yea I ve played around with the jetting quite a bit. Just havent spent the time dialing in the idle. Its been more of a pain in the sub-zero temps here too. I know im spot in with the main, now time to play with the pilot & air screw. Thanks for the input! Yea i tend to do that shit!! Its not loading up too bad, it clears out as soon as i "blurp" it and revs clean all the way to WOT. Plus it rides/runs great, so it must just be a pilot circuit issue
  5. Damn I bet that was a bitch to diagnose. I agree, check your head bolts. Retorque them first, just to make sure they arent leaking b/c of a loose seal. I also had a head gasket go on me at the dunes, pissed me off I didnt know WTF happened at the time, but experience goes a long way!! I could of reammed on those head bolts and saved the weekend!! Good luck man, overheating issues blow, but a combo of super rich and 100F at 2MPH could easily equal overheat.
  6. Thanks for the tips Dave, nice rule of thumb to go from! Just to throw it out there, if I end up crankin my air screw way out, but it fixes the idle- call it good? or get smaller pilots and start the air screws from 0? Yea loco, it is like im cleanin it out. It seems to load up a bit just sittin there. I think ill give daves tip a try and go from there. Thanks for the input, but now that I think of it I have never touched the pilots in these carbs!!
  7. Hey all, need some opinions on this. My bike runs awesome, but doesnt like to idle. It idles way low, and usually stalls out without blurping it once and a while. Im running 28PWKs, 160 main and 48 or 50 pilot(i think thats my pilot size). I believe my air screw is 1.5 turns out on both carbs. (Im not in town right now so I cant get to my bike to check specifics) My mods are below, do you think i might want a bigger pilot?? Am i running out of fuel at the low RPMs? My plugs look good, a little on the rich side but it rips WOT. Id just like to get that nice idle back!! Thanks for any input!
  8. super techniplate 32:1 , I like it, just switched from 7th gear semi-syn
  9. Id roll with a new duramax, throw a little lift and some 35's, they look tits. Plus the new duramax has the most torque/HP than the others I believe. Here is a pic of a buddies 3500 duramax with 20s and 35's:: What a beautiful Chev!!
  10. If it comes down to it, call james @ the banshee connection (# in my sig), he has em..
  11. So 358 huh, thanks for the posts! where is this chart??
  12. I know its bore x stroke, but I cant seem to find the numbers i need anywhere. Just curous on the cc of my motor.. Thanks!
  13. Dude thats fuckin sweet! especially for us MI boys. Damn that would be fun, but for how much that goes for you could do some nice motor mods!
  14. Im runnin 20cc domes on pump gas. Although I just bumped the timing +4, so im running 50/50 until i see what my compression is.
  15. Im also getting Knarlys soon. Heres a question for ya, what ones to get? ST 4ply HT 6ply XC 6ply If rocky is out, I saw all three available at motosportatv.com What knarlys are you guys runnin??
  16. Yea, James (the banshee connection) has told me of some problems with the VF3s. I dont know, but he told me the VFs have problems in the low-mid range throttle area. Some sort of issue with loading up. He runs ported stockers in all his drag bikes, tried and true... That being said, Ill stick with ported stockers. stock reeds are a dime a dozen, and Ibe heard too many horror stories of with the VFs breaking, etc.. as you mentioned.... JMO
  17. Hmmmmm, looks like added timing makes the motor more responsive to weather changes. I wonder if this could be proven, I mean we have 2 claims of this
  18. Buy a CDI on here for what, 50 bucks? Itll probly fix your problem as they go without warning. And if its not your problem, throw it in your toolbox it will be as handy as a 12mm socket someday!!!
  19. send your stockers out to james at the banshee connection.(number in my sig) hell port them and fill them with new stock reeds for 35 bucks. Best bang for buck right there, I got it done and noticed a substantial difference!
  20. you know what was weird though after I installed this, I bumped my mains up to 165 for about 10 degrees, and last weekend was around mid 30's. I fouled a plug, and my plugs seemed to be wet. I didnt think that weather would make that much of a difference, especially since I ran 50/50 mix of 110/93 octane. Im guna lean this bitch out, i bet ill notice even more!!
  21. just got my intakes in today! HIGH quality stuff, fast shipping, good communication. TOP NOTCH seller!!!!
  22. Are you serious man?? This jokester actually said that shit!! No way! hahahaha :shoothead: :yelrotflmao:
  23. Thanks for the comments man, and the rest of my engine mods are listed in my sig... I have plenty of pics in the images section, prolly have to search for them though. I guess I can post some up here if u want? Ohh, i bought the graphics off ebay, the vintage style i think its made by one industires?
  24. I like the bottom one Jeff. Id also say to add a nice banshee on there, Ill take one!!!
