  1. You could put a small shot on that motor and pick up some hp safely. Let someone that runs it chime in before you give up on it. The smaller motors may be easier. I was just giving my experience of being a spectator with nitrous on bigger (800cc +) motors.
  2. Man I wish my notes weren't lost when I changed from BB to f'n iPhone. It's like 194 or 195*. If I measured correctly it like 0.064" decked off the bottom. And the pistons may be 0.010" or 0.020" outta the hole with a 0.020" base gasket. I don't necessarily recommend this configuration. It runs good but is hot as hell.
  3. That is correct. If they're balls to the walls nitrous motors they won't run on motor.
  4. The bottom of the cylinders have been decked. I can't find all of my notes, but I think the timing is probably at +8 or +9. Looking at the notes I have, I may have 21 cc domes in that motor now, not 19 cc. So it kicks 210 psi with 21 cc domes, not 19cc.
  5. Depending on deck height you could need anywhere from maybe 18cc to 21cc domes. As mentioned, you need to know the true trapped volume. 19 cc domes on my 10 mil Cub makes it have 210 psi at 300 ft asl. The piston sticks out of the hole.
  6. 1. I believe there is a lack of consistency running nitrous, especially on 2 strokes. 2. Many times, I see big bikes go SLOWER on the bottle. 3. Its hard, if not impossible, to build a motor that's fast on the bottle, and off the bottle. 4. Easier to melt pistons if not tuned correctly or have solenoid failure(s). I can't think of anything else. That being said, I have never ran nitrous and have no experience with it other than whippets/balloons a couple of times.
  7. What's the size of the pilot jet orifice? If its not as big as the jet you're putting in a bigger jet may not help. If you check it let me know, because I don't remember. I know a guy that drills the pilots out something huge, but it makes them hard as hell to clean out. Is it lean hanging at idle? I've gotten away from PWKs and went to Lectrons on most motors.
  8. Most people do, but there may be room for improvement over just going by the gasket layout.
  9. It's easy to match them to cub cylinders. I would match my own if I were you. The casting could be different than someone else's or they may have opened up the transfers different. You can't get too much transfer area, IMO. But I'm no engine builder. If you go too far in stock cases though, the gasket sealing surface is thin.
  10. Just run the negative spacer plate. Seriously, it sounds like you can't make them work with sick stroke.
  11. Are you running nitromethane? 60 pilots (and some orifices drilled) are the most you need to do to pwks in the pilot circuit for alky.
  12. ^^^^ It can go bad at any time.
  13. Try another CDI. No way to test them. Have you checked for spark?
  14. X3 on the slides. No need to cut any wires(except for cosmetic purpose). Just unplug TORS.
  15. By stock tires I meant stock size (which I thought was 20"). So...with 20" tires. I would have thought that a ported motor should rev out farther than 8900 rpm or whatever. THe pipes may be holding it back. Not sure what T5s rev out to on ported motors. Also, if its not an aggressive dune port it may not rev more than that anyway. Maybe nothing is wrong other than what you've mentioned here. Throw some more gear to it and see,
  16. 2.5 psi to 3.5 psi

They may have 6 turns but the first 2 or 3 turns in don't close them off much. The last turn is real finicky. Some times the difference in being rich and burning a plug strap can be 1/2 turn (on a big motor; Cubs and smaller motors more forgiving.) When I start tuning with them, I turn them in all the way, then count the turns out instead of starting out and counting in, if that makes sense.
  18. Filter adaptor for K&N style filter for Banshee $20 shipped. Stock reeds/cages $20 shipped Magura hydraulic clutch cable. Slave cylinder needs replaced/rebuilt. $30 shipped. K&N style filter for 2005 YFZ450. $35 shipped. 40mm(?) Edelbrock carb for YFZ 450 (probably fits others also). I can't find the cable. $100 shipped. Will add pic later. Stock swing arms. $30 each plus shipping. Stock carrier $30 shipped. Rear Lowering link for 2005 YFZ450. $30 shipped.
  19. Stock banshee with T5s with stock tires will do over 80 with 16/41. It takes a long run, but it will get to 84 mph. With 15/41 it'll still pull 78 mph. You have something way wrong.
  20. Is there any chance it's sucking water in the cylinder? And compression loss will show more on top. Maybe a stuck ring? Were the cylinders honed and chamfered properly? Which side is bad?
  21. Carb sync? Usually an out of sync carb shows up right off idle unless it is way off though. Reeds? I would think it would be air leak if the plugs were wet, but pressure test wouldn't hurt.
  22. On good condition factory wheels. $150 shipped.
  23. If you're gonna go that route, use carb cleaner.
  24. If it runs ok I wouldn't worry about the dripping pipes.
  25. Actually stock springs are good to run on bikes with a lockup. I'd part with the 50 other springs I have first.
