  1. .....but more compression is less heat in the pipe!!
  2. I had some of those in my pool skimmers. Looked like crawdads at a glance. There are cicadas in the yard as well and I thought thats what those were (minus wings).
  3. Immature Cicada?
  4. Not in this case. The hp (and tq) that was on the dyno was not at the track. I guess it fell out of the trailer!! I know of K&T a few years ago saying they had found more power on the dyno with some of theirs, but had to go back to old setup.
  5. I've chased dyno numbers only to have disappointment at the track with what was a decent dynoed setup. I'm sure others have as well.
  6. I would say this is correct.
  7. Man if you could get a few more rpms out of those SLPs that would be a bad mofo!!
  8. I'm not gonna be able to make it.
  9. Swap carbs left to right and see if problem follows. You'll just have to make a longer choke tube for that troubleshoot. TORS elimination kit is nice but not needed to get ya going.
  10. Where the hell have you been?
  11. Yea for sure. When others said to steer away from Ti on 4-strokes too, I was thinking OEM YFZ was. I've had 2 of those and I always thought they were Ti. I don't know where the that misinformation came from.
  12. What are your thoughts on Titanium pipes? Any R&D on those? Probably not much benefit besides weight, but I wondered why someone hasn't stamped some out just to see. Sound waves in Ti are comparable to steel, so dimensions could theoretically be the same.
  13. Yea man. You're one of those 99% that don't know jack about 300' racing. 3.51 is fucking fast for anything, much less a 421 TSS Cub. l LED pipes I bought some White Knuckle pipes new a few years ago. I got them for a 16 Mil Cheetah I decommissioned and sold the motor, carbs, and pipes to one of Art's (at Precision Powersports for other readers) buddys. In the meantime Art's 10 Mil DM with White Kuckle pipes in a stock chassis was running consistent low 3.6s when that was considered a very good time for that motor. Art saw the WK pipes I sold and noticed LED or something stamped on the pipes somewhere. So he called Arlan and they talked about pipes. Loco knows more about the rest than I do.
  14. LEDs are top notch and are built to motor specs like some other pipes promised. I don't have them because what I have works. Do you know LEDs came about? I have an interesting tidbit on that if anyone cares.
  15. I for sure agree about there not being many serious 300 ft racers and that dune racers being a much bigger market for products. I'm not gonna continue this pissing match. I don't believe dyno chart hype and at the hill or dunes your only measuring stick is the weakness of your opponent, or radar I guess.I have more thoughts but I'll let it go. I'll still put a thou on LEDs for controls build IF they are made custom to his motor specs. If I lose I'll gladly pay.
  16. 300 ft racing at the track. Fastest ones run Shearers. FACT. If that doesn't mean outperform in that venue then what would be the metric I need to measure? I'm not a Shearer nut swinger and I rarely even dyno my shit anymore. And I still wouldn't chase a peak number if I did. I can't speak for dune or hill racing JT. If you say Shearers are out performed there then I believe you. I would say setup is wrong, but that would probably be a wrong assumption on my part. E
  17. The fastest bikes run Shearers. If you want a duner and broader curve and those other pipes are more suited for that fine. But that is not "outperforming" Shearers. Its like turning the boost down to ride on the street.
  18. Man I know that pipe vs. pipe issue is always going to be around. Who makes the best pipe for a Super Cub? Shearer piped one runs 3.4s. I may have one that does that soon as well. Under 425 cc Cub? https://youtu.be/R_n6ZQRFoE8 3.51 on what look like Shearers to me. Any of us record chasing drag racers would buy any pipe that makes us faster but we almost all have Shearers. Even LEDs can have a disadvantage losing RPMs and overrev vs Shearers.
  19. Yea, they're called Shearers FTW.
  20. If Arlan makes a pipe custom for your motor, I'll bet the $1000 it outperforms any other pipe.
  21. Be careful man. You're a BAMF on that ramp and you don't have anything else to prove.
  22. Tied-up Slovenian Stripper?
  23. Yea you can run yourself ragged piecing one together. I did that on a build. It sucked. Looking a random bins of parts on ebay to see if the part I needed was in there. Bolts, dowels, random hardware that you forget about until its not there. I finally just bought a parts bike.
  24. LMMFAO! Doubtful if most remember that.
