  1. The first thing your gonna want to do is get on planet sands web site. There is a ton of info about drag bikes on there. I myself am building somewhat of a drag bike, and now that I look back on it, I would have been a lot better off just finding a bike that was already set up for drag. You wouldn't belive how much money and time it takes to build a drag bike. There is also a lot of trial and error if you jump into it like I did. I've spent hundreds of dollars on parts that are just lying around my shop because they just don't perform as well as other parts. I've seen 16mm t-rex and cheetah strokers that are putting out around 140hp sell for $14,000 - $11,000. That might sound like a lot of money but it aint. Those bikes have near $20,000 or more in them, just for the fact that builing the motor is half the battle. If you don't have a good set up to get the power to the ground your motor is useless. I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, because building the bike, talking to engine builders, and learning whats good and whats not is half the fun for me, but it sure is costin my ass. Good luck with which ever road you decide to take.
  2. You might need to run the 795 wiseco pistons. Its probably 115mm rods and 4mm stroke. You will either need to get your domes cut for the needed clearence, or get a spacer plate for the cylinders. I would recommend cutting the domes.
  3. I think your right.. I've got the sprocket hub already. I got tired of wondering about the fit, so I ordered the axle today.. I should find out if its going to work or not in about a week.
  4. Chapman: I noticed in your sig you have a Dura Blue X-33 with LSR hardware. What does the" hardware" consist of?
  5. I called lonestar, they said they don't know shit about dura blue. So I called dura blue, the guy I talked to was pretty cool until I asked him about the LSR fittting on a Dura Blue. Then he turned into a complete dick and said no way it will never work. I tried to ask him if a stock sprocket hub would fit ( since LSR will fit stock axle), but he just kept talking over me, and cutting me off, and then hung up! Meanwhile I just sittin here on the phone thinking... "what the fuck?" So I called magic racing, and asked the same question, the dude said "let me check" he comes back on and said " shouldn't be a problem, It should work just fine" so I thanked him and got off the phone. Then decided I should get a second opinion. I called up NAC's they said "nope it won't work" and he hung up on me also. And again I'm sitting here with the phone in my hand thinkin "what the fuck is goin on, why is everyone a dick today?" Finally, I call Rocky mountain, they said that it would work . So who really knows if this bitch is gonna work or not?
  6. I bought a LSR sprocket hub,and want to know if it will fit on a dura blue eliminator X-33 axle. Anyone know?
  7. Track conditions have been different each time the event has been held. First time it was hard as a rock (like racing on ice), second time it was pretty loose and dusty, and the last time it was hookin up like a sumbitch. They now have a water truck they run over it to keep the traction good, and dust down. ATV's are first to race at 10:00am. I have a feeling this drag event is like no other you guys have ever been to. You'll see what I mean when the Harleys start racing. One dude runs a street tire with a jockey shift... talk about out of control Any one that is from around this area needs to show up. The later you stay the crazzier shit gets. Live band comes on around 10:00pm just after the titty show. Times are good at this Mother Focker.
  8. ID - 2.25" OD - 3.5" LENGTH - 5" Rocky Mountain ATV: $46 for a pair. + $20 for outerwears
  9. A flywheel puller will do no good unless the flywheel nut is off first. use an impact wrench to get the nut off the flywheel. Then use a flywheel puller, if you don't have one... go get one. Your local dealer will most likely have one for around $20. Mine is acually for a CR 250 but it works on the banshees also (just incase your yamaha dealer doesn't have one).
  10. Yamaha Moto 4, has got be the winner of this thread. Without a doubt the ugliest quad made!
  11. Right on! It's about time someone stood up to the piss whiners on here instead of joining them. Go ahead and bash me again whine bags, I know you want to.
  12. Jeff does a hell of a good job on the shift star mod. I rode his wifes banshee last fall ,witch just had a small trail port/play port done to it, along with the shift star mod. That thing ripped for a 350, and shifted like butter. I don't think I can say it enough... This dude builds a sweet motor!!
  13. I agree, Jeff is a super nice guy, he will bend over backwards to help you out. Not to metion the guy builds a bad ass motor.
  14. What he said. Somebody go ahead and bash me for thinking its good.
  15. ever seen a hillborn injection system ? Pro hill climbers (motorcycles) use it. Its a fuel injection system for nitro. Runs off the crankshaft. Sweet setups and work graet.
  16. I would say you could get a set for about $1300 already ported . All your existing stuff will work . but if you really want it run as good as it can youll need bigger carbs. I'd go with at least a 35mm. So there is another$ 500 at least,in the carbs, cable, and intake. Then youll need some pipes like CPI, Rockets, or Shearer. don't get me wrong, its gonna run good without the pipes and carbs, but why not make the motor run to its fullest potential? one thing you've got to remember.. this kit is designed to be a drag racer
  17. I heard that shearer makes them. But they make them to vitos specs. The shearers seem to have a nice even flowing bend when they come out of the cylinders where as the vitos have a sharp bend about 6inches out.
  18. Sweet bike. I love those old LT's
  19. any pics? what kind of shape is it in? has the brake lever rubbed a grove in it?
  20. Sudco has a chart of all the needles you could ever want. They also have a diagram of how each letter on the needle affects the jetting. Is takes a while to figure the chart out tho. Its kind of a brain buster. Just look on their web site.
  21. Cheetah has a new mono block kit out called cheetah cubs. Its for smaller motors such as what you are talking about doing. avalible in stock stoke, 4mm, or 7mm. Its a very resonable priced kit at $879.00. A&S racing has dynoed a 4mm set at 113hp on alky with a small clean up port. Should be a real impressive motor. I think I be going to it next year.
  22. I have a vitos head , a couple of my friends have noss, another friend has a pro design, and my brother has a trinity. they all work great, never had a problem with any of them. Personally I think you'll be safe with just about any head you buy. It basically just depends on personal prefrence of looks. The one you think will look the best on your quad. buy it!
  23. 85's and 86's have a case reed, This was intended to give them more low end, and it worked. The 85 and 86 's were more of a trail / enduro motor ( but they will run good if you take the choked up stock carb off and replace it with a 38mm).where as the 87 and later models were more of a race purpose engine, via power valves.
  24. Kehin carbs: 33mm and 35mm are both Kehin's newer style carb (PWK) thats why there is more talk about them. 34mm is Kehin's older style carb (PJ). Don't be afraid to get a PJ, they are still good carbs. Honda used them from the 1980's all the way up till 1997 on the CR 250's ,125's, and 500's (01')
