with the lid off i would try a 320 main,with the needle in the middle

ive run a few tracks with them.it took a little work on gearing,but sometimes no matter what type of pipes people like to change the gearing around for different tracks

now when you say dampner,do you mean the rods under the engine or the rear mount where the long bolt goes through

i never heard of a half link,unless we both know them by different names.ive always used a matching master link,to extend them out a bit if i goofed on cutting a chain.btw,a chain breaker is one of my best and most popular tool in my box,and it wasnt too expensive.i think it cost me10 bucks or less from rocky mountain. WD-40 is pretty good to spray down the shee with.keeps any bare metal coated for rust.i spray everything including the pastics.and the mud or dirt has a hard time sticking to it.so it cleans up pretty easy when i squirt her down

noss heads are sopposed to be very good,and hes exelant with custermer service. v-force 2' are good,i have them,and rocky mountain atv sells them cheep.your best bet is to use the search engine on this site at the top of the page to answer all the questions you have and make you own opinion of different parts and companies,cause youll get a million different replys as to witch is the best.

heres a list of good starter mods,in my opinion. buy a manual filter,with plate pipes head timing plate reeds carbs shocks a-arms swinger and axel

well,in a while you should let her idle and warm up before ripping on it.it gives time for the cylinders to expand,andnot just the pistons.especialy in the colder months it is good practice.its is called a cold seize.the pistons heat up,and expand before the jugs do.and for the guy with the hot jugs,that is in no way normal.you might have an air pocket in it.pop the radiator cap,hold yor hand over the top to make a seal and give the lower hose a squeeze.it kinda pushes the cooland trough the engine and moves andy air around.

i would find a good cross over tube or boost bottle and put it back in there.thats the only thing you meassed with that would effect the fuel mixture.like said above its there to equalize the carbs.next thought is your new flywheel.it weighs alot less than the stocker, the lighter you go the less rotation wieght,and there for less tourqe.ya know what i mean.it will snap on the gas,but as you put a load on it,like running wide open in 5-6 gear it doesnt have the weight to keep it going.especialy between shifts.kinda like this.you have a que ball and a whiffle ball.put them both on a ramp and let them go.now stop both of them at the same time.the que ball is going to be alot harder to stop than the whiffle ball.because of the wieght.your problem may be as simple as a tired engine,or just not enough compression wanting to keep that light flywheel going.jeesh that was long

that statement may be true,but its only because yamaha,wanted it that way.if those abortions of head pipes werent on a stock banshee,only because its yama's way of detuning it from the factory.if it was sent out with a comparible pipe to the yfz 'i.e.' performance pipe the 'truth' would be reversed.not only are those french horns from the factory there way of slowing the banshee down,its a way to spike after market companys to produce an aboundance of pipes,hence making the popularity of banshee's even greater.look at the history of shee's.since 1987 what was the first thinng a new banshee owner would do?they would get a new set of pipes.and also look at the after market for them,i cant count on 2 hands the number of pipe company's.my work is done here.

does it run fine when its just started.meaning can you get it in the power band when its cool.if so,it sounds like its overheating.i wouldnt mess around with the jetting untill you get the gaskets and orings replaced.then go from there.another thing is sometimes the over flow will leak out cold coolant.its the nature of the beast,but it will do it in moderation,it wont spew it.

run a series of heat cycles.2-3.let it heat up and cool down.then re-torque the jugs and head.they will loosen up as the engine heats up and cools.expands and contracts.that may be your problem
