  1. I know that the mess on the pipes is irritating, but that is how to tell that you are overheating! It was routed there for a reason, so you would see the steam and know you are running too hot.
  2. I will let you know when i find out the dates.
  3. In Lafayette they have a drag race in july, not sure of the date this year, but last year it was in july. Had a real good turnout, over 100 quads! Double elimination and all classes. They have a pro light tree, and all at the Tippecanoe County Fair grounds. I'll be there again this year, along with a few friends.
  4. It isn't really the porting that hurts the T6, it is when the port-timing is altered. The T6 is mostly for a stock engine, it will perform well when ported, coolhead, reeds, minor mods. But when you go deeper, the T6 falls short and the T5 responds! Call toomey and ask for Jay, he will explain it to you if you want more in depth info.
  5. It was great to finally meet you rod, i wish your quad was running better that day. We need to do Silver Lake! I am in when ever you guy's wanna go!
  6. If you plan on doing alot of mods, go with the T5's. If you only do minor mods, the T6 is the way to go. The more mods you do internally to alter the port-timing, the better the T5 will perform, not so with the T6.
  7. What hours do you work matt? If it gets nice out in the next few days I'll stop by on the bike. I of course am cursed on the 3-11 shift.
  8. I had a great time with all of you, we need to do it more often, we rode and worked on quads all day, not mine of course!LOL I taked fixitrod into climbing a pretty big hill, even though his quad wasn't running quite right, and broke forgot to use his brakes coming down a hill into a deep bowl, yep, a nice fat endo throwing him over the bars luckily, he was fine except a bruised ego. We let'em eat on the dragstrip for awhile, different winner almost every time. Went riding in the woods where I ate alot of Mrmatt's roost(not bad, needed some salt though!) and had a all around good time! I even called in sick so we could ride more together. I had a blast with all of you, great people! I unfortunately have to go to work now, funny, I feel much better! Hope to see all of you soon!
  9. To all that is going, Mrmatt and my quad look just about alike, I will also have BHQ.com written on the orange part of the flag, should be easy to spot. We will be at the bottom parking lot near the shelter.
  10. I hope some of you are still coming. It is nice out today and looks good for saturday. I am planning on being there at 9am unless most of you aren't going. Let me know asap, I'll chack back here tonight when I get off work. MrMatt: You are still planning on going, right? I'll be in the usual spot at the bottom. Later all!
  11. Hey all, I will be there on saturday no matter what. I have to work at 3pm though, so I need to leave by 1:30pm. Let's all plan to meet in front of the food stand at the bottom parking lot. I will be there around 9am. I will be driving a white 95 dakota with a black open trailer, my shee is a 02 white/black with yellow graphics and #39 on the fenders. Let's have a fun group ride!
  12. It is supposed to rain tuesday-thursday, then get nice again (70's). It doesn't get muddy except for the trails, everything else is so sandy it soaks it all up. I hope to see ya all soon!
  13. I hope that you all can make it! I will be there with some friends, hopefully you too Matt. We would be glad to show you around if you don't know the area well, I have been riding there since it was just a gravel pit, got chased by DNR many times there. We should all try to hook up and ride together, it would be nice to meet some of you. Hope to see you there!
  14. Don't let them tell you what to ride! I have raced my shee in several XC races, I even got a 4th out of 73 riders at the Ironman in Indiana a few years ago, and that was with TOOMEYS! It does work the hands a little though (lots of clutching) but I love my shee! 4 strokes are much easier to race XC, but that takes some of the fun out of it!
  15. Just call Toomey, they should send you one for free. I have broken the rubber silencer mount several times, and they always send me new ones for free!
  16. Yes, you need to rejet. As of the correct jetting for you, hard to tell what elevation and temps you are in. My guess would be to go to a 290-300 main, needle in 3rd notch from pointed end, and stock pilot. If you give more info about airbox setup and elevation, might be able to get you closer.
  17. Repack lightly, cut to fit the core, and tape in place. Use masking tape as it will just burn off. Make sure you lube the O-rings on toomey's. I repack mine every 2-3months.
  18. You mean Vedersburgh? Not much there, if all of you can make it, I'll take you to Lafayette to the Cactus. Lots of hot college chicks! And the piano bar is cool, I know the piano guy (bruce) very well. I will plan to be there! Matt, you better be there too!
  19. I might be there this saturday, not sure yet. If I am, I drive a white dakota with a 12' open black trailer, quad is a 2002 blk/white with #39 on fenders.
  20. Keep me posted, I'll probably be there.
  21. You are very lean on the needle, move the clip down to the 3-4th notch.
  22. I have also heard of painting the inside of the pipes with high temp paint, it keeps them from turning blue.
  23. Did the shift mechanism jump off the shift star? It will usually stay in two gears and not go anywhere else when this happens.
  24. Not trying to be a smartass Holyman, but you might want to edit a n't after the would. It sounds like amsoil is guaranteeing your engine to grenade! Thanks again for the kicker, works great!
  25. I like to climb hills, a twist just doesn't work for me. I have a 2002 YZ250 and of course it is fine, but I prefer thumb on a quad.
