  1. Is your clutch linkage aligned? The arrow on the left engine case with the clutch arm? It will cause this to an extent.
  2. To make this easy, tip the bike over on it's left side, you won't have to drain all the fluids out, and makes it easier to work on. I have done this many times at the track in between motos!
  3. Your shift detent came off the shift star, if you take the clutch cover off, and look at the shift star, you will see the ratchet with a hook on both ends (this is attached to your shift rod). Take a screw driver and pop it back into place, it will happen again if you don't replace the rod and detent though!
  4. Do you mean the coolant overflow hose? If so, you got it real hot!
  5. No, not stock. Just better replacements than the cheap plastic. You can get them in needle bearings also. I would definately remove them, one side will be hard to get out, but once one side is done, just like Holyman said, tap them out with a wooden dowel pin. You might be able to use a 1/4" pin to go inside of the bushing, so you won't have to beat on it.
  6. I might actually get a weekend off 1st one this year, if not real muddy and wet I just might run over to the Badlands to break the new topend in. Anyone care to join me? I need to get it broke in before Silver Lake!
  7. I hope their atv parts are better than their sportbike exhausts. No offense to anyone, but D&D is kind of generic in the sportbike world.
  8. No big deal, get all you can out, then put in your normal tranny fluid.
  9. TCS is the best! I have had them do mine several times, always perfect for me! And the price is decent too!
  10. I cut my stock silencers to fit my T5's. Only have to cut like 1-1/2" off the stinger end and cut the lower frame mount off. I always take them when I go to a new place to ride just in case.
  11. I twisted mine several yrs. ago, bought a RPM with the honda style adjustment. Best $600 I ever spent on it!
  12. T6's are fine for ported motors, but if you change the "port-timing" the T5's will make more power than the T6's.
  13. Move the hose guard (spring) so your pipes don't touch the rubber.
  14. I must be hard on my shifter, I used to have this problem about once a year so I just replace it every year!
  15. have you checked your reeds lately? It sounds like one might be broke. If you have good power in the upper rpm range and bogs down low it might be worth a look. Just a thought.
  16. I'll be on vacation I am not sure if I am going or not, I am supposed to be doing a track day with some buddies at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. If that falls through, I am there! Matt, If I can go is the wife going or do you want to cruise up there together? I got a new truck and enclosed trailer!
  17. I am on vacation from 1april-11th, I would like to meet up w/you but I might have to run up to Silver lake dunes, i heard some people are going there opening weekend. Let me know as I only live 20 minutes from Badlands.
  18. As always it is different for elevations and temps, but i would start at 3 sizes up on main, move clip down 1 notch (raise needle), this will get you close, run it for a plug check and see how she runs.
  19. Tony E, Take the clutch cover off (whole thing) look at the shift star, (it has the pins on it) there is a ratchet that moves the gears back and forth, the ratchet should be catching the pins, yours is probably off and is stuck on the outside of the pins. Just use a screwdriver to "pop" it back into place. This is more than likely to happen again after it happens once. I usually replace the shift rod ,detent, and spring to solve the problem. Parts are not that expensive, maybe $40 for everything. Hope this helps you out!
  20. Make sure that choke tube is connected between both carbs.
  21. I have known Eric for many years and have several port jobs from him, everything from 250R's , YZ250's, and my banshee, always the very best work and a guy that will listen to what you want. I highly recomend him, super nice guy!
  22. Will it go into any other gears? Do you only have 2 gears that it will go into? ( like 1 and 2 or 2nd and 3rd). If yes to both questions, and your clutch lever feels normal it's probably the shift detent, it's a little lever that ratchets your gears back and forth. It will pop out of place and catch. I have had this happen a few times. If you think this is it, let me know and I will explain how to fix.
  23. I would like to, but mine ran like crap last sunday. I'll go through the carbs and check everything out, probably about time for that new topend I have been planning on doing since spring! I might possibly be there, if so, I'll get there when the gates open cause I will have to work at 3pm
  24. I am sorry to anyone needing info on this, I have been too busy with work to get back here, it is going on today, alot of people are showing up. Last year the drag was 300ft. not alot of room for error, but enough to get into 3rd. There are all classes and it starts at 11am.
  25. There will be an ATV/Dirtbike drag june 24th at the Tippecanoe county fairgrounds. I competed last year and there was a good turn out, and it is a pro tree for the starts. I will post the times as soon as I know more, hopefully monday (tomarrow). Come out and show them BHQ members and Banshees RULE! If need directions, please let me know, it is in the city of Lafayette.
