to test the coils properly u need a non destructive 250v tester to put the coils under load(low amps),with a multimeter it can only tell continuity and ohms,ive tested new and knackered stators together with multimeters and lots of time they check out ok,untill you use the propper test kit(very expensive) to tell u otherwise.(its like when u test a sparkplug out of the cylinder its ok,but put it under load in the cylinder and the spark breaks down..

ok,start at your plugs and work back,1,put new plug in and hold ontop of cyl,kick over and note what colour spark if any. 2.take off plug cap(twist off) and hold bare ht lead 5 mm from engine,kick and check again for spark and colour. 3.cut off the last 10mm of ht lead and repeat step 2. still no spark??? 4,check for a signal with a multimeter comming to the ignition coil possitive wire,somebody here will have to pipe up on this one cos if im right it should read up to and around 8-12 volts? then check the ohms reading of your pickup wire,should be under 2k ohms,if its over then i think your pickups knackered,try that and we can go from there...................

i dont think the reeds will be under constant pressure because one cyl will allways be suckin the boost in.thinking about it two turbos couldnt work because the reeds would then be pressured open by the turbo? that would be cool slobanshee06 if you can check ur sled,thanks.

the mans not wrong! thats a good idea,anybody else have any thoughts on that? i think it could work,how do uget around the problem of pressuring petrol out the carb overflows? because the carb will be under pressure from the turbo,do u simply block em up??

i love my dmc916's wouldnt swap em for anything,wood be soooo sweet wiyh a smart turbo on each pipe,yehman :happy:

yeh but i think the 2 into 1 pipes are gayasfcuk!! look like little jonny made em at school,lol.

question why is it that most people who turbo a shee only put 1 turbo on? why not leave twin pipes on with a small turbo on each pipe? instead of the 2 into 1 pipe set up. the local turbo expert here reckons that they will distruct because of the negative wave in the exhaust chamber will try and suck the turbo backwards therefor "shocking the bearings ect,but in a 2 into 1 system you have allways 1 cylinder fireing which is greater than the negative return wave and so the turbo is spun more evenly,not pulsed,hope i explained what i have been told.can anyone enlighten me? would love to use the two smart turbos my m8 has in wkshop!!!! thanks.

a 75 year old man has to give a sperm sample to the hospital,the nurse gives him a jar and off he goes home,he tried with his left hand then the right,then both hands,but no good,his wife tried with her left hand then right,then both,but nothing,then they called ethel round from next door,she tried with her hands,mouth and teeth together but still no way could they get the lid off the jar!! lol.

little johnny goes next door with his dad to look at there new baby,dad tells johnny to be polite and not mention the babys deformed head or the fact the baby has no ears at all or there would be trouble when you get home..... when meeting the baby johnny looks into the crib and tells mrs robbinson how cute the baby is and asked if the baby has good eyesight? yes johnny she says,the doctors say he has good vision,oh thats good says johnny cos he'd be screwed if he needed glasses!! :biggrin:

i went to the gym last nite and tryed out there new machine they just got installed,its realy good but i only managed half an hour cos i felt sick,its got everything though,mars,twix,bounty,crisps,everyting :happy: !

i know where your comming from.well just tell em how it is,wouldnt say spares engine but repairable motor,have you done a leak test? dont go loosin $$$ by saying its leaky if in the end it was your carbs.leak test it and do a compression test.

standard banshee carbs are prone to sticking,nobody knows "exactly" why,not even yamaha! think thats why they put the shitty TORS system on.you dont need much throttle for her to rev out max with the clutch pulled in,because u wernt on wot doesnt mean that the carbs wernt sticking,ive been there on this one,many others here too,i think your carbs want junking. :biggrin:

make sure your carbs are in sync, ie slides are moving at same time and level,check your pilot jet/systems are clean,and set you air screw around 1.5-2 turns out from fully(lightly)screwed in.hop that sorts her. :biggrin:
