I called a few local shops around me and here are some prices that I got.
Banshee frame chromed runs 700-1000 locally.
A "good" powdercoating (no post-bake runs, nice high gloss shine) or any of that junk runs 500 locally.
Both of the prices that I have got includes prep work on the frame.
My dad has some tig and mig welders but he is old and his eyesight is leaving him slowly. I have tried to learn to weld several times from him but it is really an art. I am not that good and am looking for someone who is a good welder that would do it for some cash or parts.
I have rode his shee several times. I have raced his against his shee several times. It is a turd. I think the fundamental design of the LRD adj. pipe was for light trailriding not much else.
Did I ever mention anything about getting more power out? I said tuneability.
If I still had an old set of FMF Fattys or SSTs on my shee, I would say that I would race you right now but I don't have any. If you still want to race sometime, I've got CPI big bore inframes on my slow shee and I have an easy 2 grand in the motor. Meet during duning season and see what that LRD can do for you. Hell if you want, Hayabushee will be done by then if you wanna get embarassed.
Let me know if you are still LRD happy next season.
I have heard bad things about all of the pipes minus the Pro Circuit. LRD adjustable are nicknamed ass-blower 2000's. Horrible pipe, my neigbhor has a set and it took some time for the pipes to be installed on the bike. Completely bad fit from the factory and the tunability is bullshit.
I don't know personally but I had the opportunity to race a few equipped before. If you want a cheap and nice pipe, go with used Pro Circuit or used T3, alot of people don't realize the potential of good ol' T3's. Pro Circuits have that distinct low-mid hit that is proceless but that is all they have.
I found a great chromer in ny when I was watching that Orange County Choppers show on tv. I sent my hayabusa frame off and they chromed it for about 800, alot cheaper than in my own state. I think I still have their address and phone number around here somewhere, I got it from their website under the discovery channel I think it was.
Yeah, tithead is the fastest. He is the only ones that has mastered the fine art of running holeshots on asphalt drags.
I heard my haybushee will be pretty fast next season.
IT takes alot of work to polish the case 30-70 HRS since it is a very porous casting. There are several stages of polishing with the good old Dremel and flexshaft. The engine does not overheat remember it is watercooled not aircooled. The heat is transfer to the coolant and dissipated through the radiator not the skin of the case.
I suck at welding and need a welder to cut, jig, and weld the frame back together to incorporate a hayabusa subframe. I was hoping maybe some of you have had good expeiences with welders around your region because all I am having around here is a horrible experience in MO.
I know that some of you have probably had your frames stretched so let me know. The guy that did my last stretch on my other mud drag shee in WV died last summer so I am on the look again.
They spoof your IP not steal it, your IP is yours but it can be modeled to say. Check it out for yourself, WIN XP, go to run and type in "cmd ipconfig", just try it on several computers and see how many times you run into the same IP.
