I just got my bike back from getting dyno'd. It is tuned to 61.1 RWHP. Is this pretty good for my setup? I was hoping for mid to upper 60's.
-
When I had that problem, I would turn the gas off and work the thumb throttle back and forth for about 5 minutes. I can't say this will help if it's 2 below zero though That's pretty frickin cold to be riding in.

I have just installed 28 pwks along with vforce2. I believe they have 152's installed. I have it on the dyno today and should have some numbers later tonight. My old setup was 280's on the stock carbs. I was told there is no way to compare stock jetting to Keihin jetting. If anyone has more info on this, that would be great.

Even though AV gas is cheaper, I have been told not to run it because there are additives in the fuel to keep it from freezing at high altitudes. Kinda like antifreeze. I will not run AV gas in my shee. Besides, I like the way the race fuel smells

I would have to say that is not a good sign. Sounds like the "black box" is about dead or like it may need a new wiring harness. How old is the bike? Or it could be just ALL F**ked Up! Did the owner have any ideas on what was wrong with it?

Have you removed the TORS units? Was it cold outside? Banshees are notorious for sticky throttles after TORS removal. Mine usually only stuck when the carbs got wet and/or when its cold outside. I have since installed new 28PWKs, and have had no problems. Could be as simple as a lubing the cable also Peace

I had the same problem with mine. My key switch would not kill the bike. The kill switch would work, but not the key switch. Finally my ignition module died. Installed new Dyna FS ignition, and now all switches work again. If you can find another ignition module that works to use as a test, I would try that first. Good Luck

I will be 35 next month

I had the same problem. I left the bottle where it is and re-routed the overflow hose from the front (where is drips on the pipes), to behind the engine so it comes out right at the swingarm pivot point and drains on the ground. I still have to add coolant from time to time, but it's from sloshing around and getting into the overflow hose. I have seen that a lot of people move it up "under the hood". I may try that sometime. I think mine still drains a little because there is no "P-trap" in the line. Good Luck. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Duece, Thanks for the response. I currently run about 170 lbs. I run 110 octane or a 50/50 mix to stretch my gas sometimes. Also my crank is welded. I am really looking forward to getting the carbs and intake installed. Will probably wait till after Turkey day, so I can get some riding in over the long weekend. I have a friend of mine that has pretty much the same setup as I do. The only difference is he already has the Vforce intake. He claims to have around 220 lbs. I think he is full of s**t personally. Peace,

How old is your bike? Mine is nine, and for the last year and a half I had the same problem. It turned out to be the ignition module. It would run fine in the high rpms, but sputter at 1/8 to mid. I tried all kinds of carb adjustments. Finally the module died one day. Put the Dyna ingnition on, and it's a whole new machine and then some. I run 280's with the clip on the 4th position from the top. Just a thought... Peace,

Ok, so back to my question... I have had some porting done on my jugs. Are 18cc domes ok for this setup? And will they be ok with 28mm carbs and Vforce3 intake? I have been told that porting will reduce the compression, and the smaller domes will compensate for this (18 vs 20). Is this correct? You guys should really quit arguing amongst yourselves Can't we all just git along!!! Peace,

I ran one for a few years. It was pretty good for hookin up. Last year the top roller bearing gave out and sheered all the teeth off, and took alot of teeth off the rear sprocket as well. I have since thrown it away, and noticed more power in the shee. It was alright while it lasted, but I don't miss it abit. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I didn't realize this was going to get such a response . Noss, I do have a friend that does my engine porting and tuning on the side. I guess the real point of my question is: why porting? Don't get me wrong, I love the way my bike runs. It's like a bat out of hell!!! What are the advantages and disadvantages of porting a motor. I have some new carbs, and a Vforce3 intake system waiting to be installed. At the same time, I will have the cylinders ported some more. I love going fast!!! I have had this bike for 9 years, and have yet to blow the motor. I have broken some gears, but nothing with the top end. I think after market mods are as reliable as the person doing the work. I normally do alot of the work myself, but when it comes to the finer aspects, I tend to turn that over to more knowledgable people. This site kicks ass!! Thanks for any and all help. What the hell does "IMHO" stand for anyway ?? Peace

I run 32:1 but 40:1 is good also. I use Super M synthetic.
-
Ok boonman, you are right. You shouldn't bore it unless it is blown or damaged. I have had mine bored twice, but not because of damage. Just wear and tear over the years of use.
-
I have had my 'Shee since 94 and have always had this problem. I left my bottle where it is and rerouted the overflow hose so that it drains on the ground at the swingarm pivot point. I still have to add coolant to the bottle everytime I ride, but at least it doesn't spew onto the exhaust.

Buy a Banshee. Pipe it, jet it, bore it, port it, coolhead it
-
I am running 280's, clip on the 3rd or 4th needle groove. I can't remember what the pilot is. I have yet to foul a plug with this setup. 290's seem rich for use with the pipes. Is the rest of your bike stock???
-
NGK BR8EVX. A little pricey, but I haven't fouled one yet.
-
I have never been. But some friends and I are planning a trip over Christmas. Is that a good time to go???
-
What other mods do you have? Normally the pipes come with a jet kit. At least my T5's did. Sounds like you are running way too rich. Rejet and maybe remove your airbox lid also. Hopes this helps. Somebody else is probably alot more knowledgable than me
-
I currently have 18cc domes installed on my ported, cool head 'shee with T5's. I noticed that a lot of people in here are running 20cc domes. What are the advantages and disadvantages of running 20's vs 18's? I have been told it is a compression issue.

I installed the black F/B on my 94 last year. Same problem. Had to cut almost 1/4 inch off the top radiator mount stud. It still is a tight fit. The people at Fullbore said they had resolved this issue. Apparently not
