BelRay H1R is a synthetic racing oil. There are two mixing instructings on the container. One for full out racing machines, and one for close to stock machines. This is a very good oil to use.

BelRay H1R, There are two recommended mixing ratios, one for hi performance, and the other for stock machines, which i think is about 40:1. I went from the Yamalube to this, and noticed a definite difference in performance.

You might give a guy by the name of Chuck Lee a call. Chuck owns Ridgway Motorsports, and knows engines. He does all of his porting on a flow bench, and can balance the cylenders to match each other. People from all over the world send him stuff to work on. This past fall he won the Pikes Peak hill climc , i believe in the 250 class, on a bike that he built. Chucks phone # is 970-626-5112.

Welcome to the Banshee world.

If it was me, I would bite the bullet, and replace it either with a new, or used one. If it suddenly gets worse, it's not going to happen at a convenient location.

I think it would be bettwer if you looked before you leaped, and made an ass out of yourself, in the future. -
I like the electric start feature, I wonder if it comes with a bag to carry the battery in?

I,m going to refer you back to Amateur's suggestion that you look at the two rubber tubes that connect the carbs to the boost bottle. I even recommend that you put new ones on because they are probably dried out and have split, or are about to. If either one splits , air will enter, and cause the problems you are describing. The factory settup is a alum. tube that the hoses attach to, with the boost bottle the normal curv of the tubes is changed slightly which will put a little extra pressure on the tubes, causing one or both to split if they get dried out.

Congrats, thers nothing like a Banshee to make you give up women, and drinking. After owning one for awhile you won't be able to afford either one. Thers nothing like the rush of riding a Banshee thru the dunes, or anyplace else. Good luck on finding out your problems. -
I also was here under another name, can't remember what it was , but when I discovered it was back on the air, I re-joined under my new name. Lost all of my old post numbers. To lee

I'm guessing they will continue with the four stroke technology and improve on it. There are to many issues against the two stroke machines. Every year you see more and better four stroke motors being engineered and produced.

Often times when Wal-Mart announces that a new store is going in, a lot of people bitch to whoever will listen about how thay do not want a big box store in thier area, yet when the store opens, the same people who were bitching, are there on opening day. Go figure

The same thing happened to me several years ago, they sent the wrong size paddles on the haulers I ordered. Of course I had them on the ground before I realized it, and of course they refused to take them back. Luckely I was able to sell them to a friend, and ordered the right size from some one else, don't remember who right now, but it sure wasn't Chaparral. Now I get all of my stuff from Rocky Mt. ATV.

I have Trend Micro Internet Security, They are very good, and no problems getting onto anything. The only problem I have is, I can't get some photo's because of my preference setting, which I don't understand that. I don't know if it has anything to do with the security setting, or something else inside this computer.

First off I would recommend Bel-Ray H1R oil at 40-1,. I had my shee mildly ported , he used a flo bench to balance the cylinders, and cleaned up the rough edges. He also milled out the stock carbs ,also using the flo bench , from 78cfm to 90cfm, which matched the porting he did, and installed a set of power lite reeds. The purpose of all this was to enable me to still use premium unleaded gas , and get a lot of performance out of the shee. Just for this little bit, the shee was in the shop for 6 weeks. The problem most shops have is they can't just work on that one project all of the time, there are a lot of other distractions that occure during the day, which drags everything out.

Read This If You THINK you are fast
philshee replied to German Shepherd's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I read the comment that the person wishes that there wern't any cops, or laws to regulate where he could ride. Does that idiot have any idea what kind of place we would be living in. First off the biggest people would have everything, because they would just take it from you. Second if someone didn't like what you said, or did, they would just kill you, who would stop them. This would go on, and on. Just think of what you are wishing for. -
Craftsman,, I don't know what happened, but some years back I bought a Craftsman wrench set at a Sears store, and the tools were made in Japan. Only ones I ever saw made out of the country.

I believe that the American Sand Association has an annual Glamis dunes clean up some time in late spring. You might check them out for the info.

About 20 miles fron Yuma you will come onto the first off ramp to Buttercup valley. Buttercup is South of the freeway. If you take this off ramp you will come to a stop sigh, ( the roads are paved ) if you take the left turn , it will take you into the valley to a dead end turn around. There are about 3-4 restrooms along the road. You can camp, and ride anywhere along the road. You can also pull out onto the valley floor anywhere you want to, just watch for soft sand. At the stop sign, if you drive straight ahead , the paved road will take you about 2 miles to a dead end, you can camp and ride anywhere along the paved road, also there are rest rooms along this road also. Just past the Buttercup off ramp Between the East, and West freeway lanes is a rest area with a water well, maintained by the state of Calif. where you can get good water. If you continue West on the freeway about two miles past the Buttercup off ramp, you will come to the Gord ons Well off ramp. After getting off the freeway you will come to a stop sign. Go left and you will come to the Pair a Dice , that is a small store, cafe, drinking hole place. Go right at the stop sign, and you will leave the pavement after a short distance, then cross a bridge over the canels , and buggy flats will be straight ahead. Also you will have to pay for a BLM camping permit . you have to pay to camp anywhere at the dunes. The pay stations are at the entrance to the camping areas. You can camp and ride anywhere in the buggy flats area. As far as to where to camp, a lot of people like to go in as far as they can to be closer to the sand hills, just watch for soft sand so you don't get stuck. As far as the riding area. At Buttercup the riding area is all around you, and it is a lot of fun, if you wanted to to go to the Pair a Dice, or the buggy flats riding area , you can ride thru the sand, about two miles to the West, to the Gordons Well overpass, the BLM has extended the overpass over the canel, and it is legal to ride your off road vehicle over it . The buggy flats riding area is a pretty good area, there is a sand highway on the West side of the dunes that goes all the way to the Glamis area about 15-20 miles to the North, or anywhere in between. If you cross the sand highway and continue into the dunes , on the extreme South end will be the freeway hills . If you go North from the freeway hills you will come to what is referred to as Patton Valley , about 7-8 valleys to the North. The way the dunes run. A set of dunes then, a valley between with a flat floor, then another set of dunes. The North side of the dunes will be sloping, easy to ride up, the South side will be very steep in the center, with sloping edges at the ends. Watch out for the out of bounds markers for a protected weed. A lot of guys are ignoring the boundry markers, but all that does is make it harder for the Sand Assoc. to convince the courts to do away with the restrictions.

I would go with 20-10-10 8's, you won't be sorry. They will hook up just fine, and you can slide with no problems.

How long does 110 octane gas stay fresh?
philshee replied to bansheeigo's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Put some Sta-Bil in it, follow the directions on the container, that will keep it from going bad. -
How do you break in riding boot quick
philshee replied to bansheeigo's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Spray the leather parts with WD-40, that should soften them up. Thats what I do with leather gloves after they get wet, and dry stiff. Softens them right up, should do the same for boots. -
I know this has been talked about before, but I can't find any info on it. What are the types (brands ) of larger slide type after market carbs that will fit the stock Banshee boots.
