The old won't start when hot syndrome. I would do a compression test,2 strokes don't like to start when hot if it needs a top end rebuild.

Casesaver and various stuff
Mr.Giggles replied to bansheefreestyler's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yes the two bolts at the bottom and along with the top one have to be loosened to adjust your chain, the two that face towards the back do the chain tightening though. As far as that white dohickey behind the sprocket,it hold something in place in the tranny just can't think what it is at the moment,I'm having a seniors moment. If it has a chain case saver on it ,it would wrap around the front half of your sprocket to fill in the space between the sprocket and the case!!! Those axle bearings can be a bit@* to get out.a good hunk of brass or hard wood will be needed to whale the axle out, then you got to get the bearings out of the housing,I used a long punch and tapped them out,you will know what to use when you get that far. -
HELP! She's loading up in midrange!
Mr.Giggles replied to stealth50's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
There is no way that needle should be on the top position. Try it on the middle and try a 300 main, what you got to loose!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and the air screws one and a half out. -
Sounds like you may want to check your compression, could be in need of a ring job!!!!!!!!

I would check to make sure you put the slides in the carbs right if you had them out(cut out of slide facing airbox)see if choke tube is in also!! I have much the same modds as you and run a 300 main needle third position and a 25 pilot. -
You got a 3rd and a 4th on your first race on a Banshee on your first mx and you want to scrap the banshee, imagine with a few races under your belt you might not be seeing your buddies taillights???? Oh and for the cowey 400 ,there is better out there!!!!! Kiss your 3rd and 4th goodbye on that.

Take all the tension off at the perch first Us your left hand to apply pressure on the arrow at the case while your adjusting with the screw, line the arrows up then put the proper tension on at the perch,

Yea they work great on my lawnmower!!!! Maybe I will try them on the Banshee?????????

Any good machine shop can handle that job for you,the shop that did mine never did one before,I just stood there when he was doing it and told him when to stop. If you look at the flywheel there is dimpples on the outer face when he was done with mine you could just barely see them. Off hand I just forget the ounzes you can take off,if you use the search on here I'm sure you will find it. When he started to remove material from the flywheel the cutting tool was hitting and missing as the flywheel turned that's the reason for the dimpples drilled into the face from the factory to balance it!! By removing the material on the lathe I would think that the flywheel would be balanced better than from the factory,Mine seems to have less viberation after it was lightened. We weighed it before and after the job was done and if I recall now it was 9oz lighter . Like everyone said it's well worth the money!!! Take the head with you and shave 25 thou off it while your at it,they work well together.

Do you have any idea what's in it for pilots Sampleba??? Stock is 25's What are the air screws set a ???? Start at 1.5 out Check the carbs to see if they are in sync also.
-
I just put a new barnnet in the banshee last weekend ,very happy with the results I would put three of the stock springs that come with it and three of the heavy duty ones for a easier pull at the perch. They don't send any instructions either. Need any advise ,let us know!!!

]They should of football tackled his bags and then blew him up. Would of saved some cats!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Check on the left side just below the left carb there will be an arrow on the caseing, and there is an arrow on the end of the clutch cable perch at the bottom end, they should be lined up,if not your going to have to go inside to do some adjusting.
-
Direct drive lock up,does this mean you don't have to line up the arrows on the caseing????
-
Did you put the tube back inbetween the carbs(choke tube)
-
I rode this for the winter, great sled.
