  1. well i have put the 300 mains in and im running the air screw 1 3/4 turns out very strong very fast. and i cut off the back of the air box to make my coolant bottle hanger...i rode it for 2 hours straight doing hill climbs and some slow tech stuff then i drag raced my friends 450 (and won but when i stoped i was over heating a bit granted it was a hot night i let i cool off and it still runs great but what can i do to make it run cooler? do they make fans for these beast? thanks for all the feed back on the jetting and stuff...any suggesttions to go faster for low $$?
  2. yeah i can run with him thru 3rd gear then he starts pulling but i think i need to mess with jetting cuz i lose the power band quick im putting the 300's in tonight and adjusting the air screw and see where that gets me..i can mill the head my self as i am a machinest but thanks for the offer so .030 u say is safe? do u run reed spacers? my buddies ds is pretty worked up but im on a mission to spank him:) shee has come along way since i got her did not even run i bought it for 500$ so i can afford to spend abit to wake her up...thanks for the input every one keep the ideas comming i want this thing to be a beast...how do i modify the stator plate and how do i know how much i am advancing it???
  3. yeah im going to put the 300 mains in this weekend as i work late all week not sure about elevation i know i am very low...anyone famillar witn the ds 650 my buddy rides one and i would love to tear him up as he is a banshee hater he is a four stroke guy mine pulls hard but i have yet to impress him...any ideas???
  4. cool i have some 300 mains ill try them. any advice on air screws??how many turns? how mouch do u shave off the head and what kind of horse power gains do u get??thanks for the help i have been rehabing a 1994 shee and it has come along way but i have alot i want to do still. im going all out eventually..what is the boost port??
  5. hi all i just put some clamp ons on my banshee but i dont know what to do with the coolant tank. is really needed as long as i make sure my radiator is full could i just disconnect it??also i was wondering about jetting i have k&n clamp ons fmf gnarly pipes and bills pipes scilencers v force 3 reeds and cage and i am running 230 main jets right now should i go a bit bigger? i am trying to keep up with my friends ds 650 i already beat his polaris 400 sport:) ps i am on a buddget but im thinking about oversized pistons this winter any suggesttions how big can i go. and is it worth it to port and polish??thanks banshee1982
  6. well guys she is back and better than ever......runs great looks like a bad coil on one side was to balme new coil and im off. oh yeah my new a arm came in today all back together and ready to ride . i was hope for a bit more feed back but i look forward to getting to know u guys and hope to learn more about shee's i always wanted one and am very happy to have one so i hope to chat with u guys all soon....
  7. well it is all pretty much stock carbs stock pipes stock aftermarket air filter, im getting the k+n dirrect clamp on soon!! any ideas????oh it also has v force 3 reeds and reed cage
  8. hi all i have been riding for years but i am newto the banshee i recently bought a 1994 banshee after buying carbs (came without) i have not been able to have a good ride yet. i plan on a rebiuld this winter but i would love to get a few rides this summer. well at first it seemed to run good and strong but now it will back fire when i hit the gas.also i bogs for a min before revving up.. i have cleaned the carb changed the plugs and cleaned/checked the reeds.all seems well.till i start it.then the same old shit... last ride resulted in a broke lower right ball joint at about 60mph a bit harry ...that was interesting so im waiting on a new a arm it should be here next week but i would like to get it runnig better while i wait.the carbs came from ebay and when i first took them apart i seen that they had 300 mains in them..i thought it seemed very large for what little mods i had so i droped them to 230's still runs the same though i have tried to adjust the air screw but it dose not seem to change anything at all.i have been fighting it for weeks. and im running short on game plans other than to fully tear down and rebiuld early...that would make for a bumming sumer:( anyone have any ideas ? what should the air screw be set at stock??? i need some where to start....p.s. choke hose is tight:) banshee1982
