  1. I agree w/2004LEBanshee. I/m pretty much the only Yamaha locally. If you plan on buying new.....definately get an '05....they look like the 450R's, and also have reverse. I wouldn't mind having one myself, but would rather have a YFZ. It doesn't sound like you're dealing with a very cool salesman if he's telling you something is too fast..YFZ's are fast, but I don't know about TOO fast. I think a 400EX would be just about perfect if your dad doesn't want a YFZ. If it's for you...I would REALLY try to talk him into a YFZ...there's a big difference in preformance between the two. As for making a 400 fast....I guess it depends on what you think is fast. I don't think you could make a 400 as fast as a stock YFZ. I have a buddy with a 440EX, R-4 pipe, cam, filter, and even though it will keep up with me on the bottom end....he can't touch me as soon as I'm in 3rd. Just my .02 Josh
  2. My buddy and I have had a hell of a time around here. We ride mostly ditches...but now the all of the fields are down, so we ride fields in the winter. I've been told we have a law here...when at least 2 inches of snow have fallen, you can ride the streets, as long as it hasn't been plowed. Last winter, we went riding down some pretty busy streets(that were already plowed)....waving at people comin' out of the bars ...while they're wondering what the hell is going on. That was the worst case of me breaking the law on the quad. But I've had some times with some dick cops...I was riding in the ditch, pretty slow actually, w/the fields down and I notice theres a cop with it's cherry's on w/ his siren, so I turn into the next entrance into a field, which was about 50 yards away, and just fly through the fields without turning back. Never really knew where he went or if he gave up?? I really try not to drink and ride! I honestly think I would kill myself. Josh
  3. I would definately take it for the price. But I'd have to agree on the 250X motor. Tons of suspension but no motor? I've got a buddy that has a tricked out 250X...and even tho it's clean, it's very slow. Meat-you just got a 250R not too long ago didn't you, with the silver-vein frame? Does she look any different? I've always wanted an R for the track, being that I can't afford a YFZ. Josh
  4. Pure sport is a company, if I'm not mistakin', not a type of tire. I'm pretty sure you're talking about Realtor's. They're a pretty good tire for a sand/snow universal tire. But they're very heavy campared to Klaws. Josh
  5. I now have everything on ebay. Check it out. ------->2002 XR50R
  6. Ha Ha. I was honestly starting to feel bad for you. That's was pretty damn good.
  7. I just went through this problem about a month ago. I didn't want any of the plugs left over from the T.O.R.S. because I'll never be going back to that crap again. So I started cutting and actually cut one of the ground wires on accident(which I didn't realize at the time). I couldn't get a spark, so I went through all the electrical and wiring. You can cut all of them off, just be careful and very patient when doing so. josh
  8. Hey, I e-mailed you once about your nerfs and it fitting...but where did it hit, or why couldn't you get it to fit? Josh
  9. I've got 145 psi with 21's. It all depends on your elevation. I've seen a chart before that makes things a lot easier...but I don't remember where.
  10. I've got 1-5 and have seen 6. You can definately tell they're using more, and cooler camera angles(which I don't know very much about). But I would watch 1-3 all day long. I don't remember if 3 or 4 has the bad ass hill climbs in it(w/ the black shee), which ever one it was that's my fav. I love R's and everything, but damn....I gotta be proud when you see some shee's! Josh
  11. Wow....that's pretty fuggin' sick. And the implants he has aren't too much better.
  12. Thanks for the replies guys. A friend of mine has a 400EX with +2 galfer lines, which he got off of ebay and he isn't very satisfied with them. He had trouble with all of the seals. And they fit really tight. I'm not sure if he bought a smaller size than he should of or what, I didn't want to base my decision with Galfer on his mistake. Did you guys just order them through the website? Thanks Jibrille,(it's actually an older pic). Josh
  13. I finally have enough dough to buy A-arms. But I still have some questions... I'm definately going with chrome uppers, but undecided about the bottom color. I've got a silver vein powder-coated swing arm from Gary(quicksand) now, and I don't know if I should go with Blue or the Silver-vein. I eventually (not anytime soon) plan on powdercoating the frame blue. I wanted to know if anybody had any pics or suggestions. I also wanted to know about brakelines. I've heard good things about Galfer, but I'm not too sure on how to go about ordering them. Here's a pic of my bike:
  14. In Vocational Welding last year a buddy of mine built a brush guard for his Ranger. He ended up getting pretty good at it and started selling these things to friends. It was a pretty good idea if you ask me. It didnt look exactly like the $300-500 guards you can go buy, but t was a hell of a lot cheaper. I built a 5' by 7' utility trailer in the same class (for the shee ). I built the thing for around $90.00 in metal and a $20.00 mobile home 3000 lbs. axle, and it looks exactly like the trailer's you can go buy for $800.00. I personally would look into the brush guard idea.
  15. My track has three quad classes...A, B and C, divided by skill level. And other than the stuff listed above....you need at least 8 inch(tall) boots, a long sleeve shirt, and the obvious helmet and goggles.
  16. Does Galfer have a site for their brake lines? What kind of steering stabilizer do you have? I've always wondered what it'd feel like with a stabilizer. Was it that much harder to make tight turns with it really grabbing?
  17. Thanks for the replies and help. I played around with the jetting a little bit more with no luck. I tried pull starting it with a truck...with no luck. So now I really think it's electrical. The engine was turning over, but never fired, and if the truck slowed down...the engine would slow down. It sounds like it sucking air really bad, that's why I now think it's electrical...because I have fuel, and plenty of air. I went through all the plugs I cut off again, I still don't have any clue what one of them is from. It has a Black and a green/yellow wire, the same color wires that are dead ends on the quad. The thing that's really starting to get to me is..I don't know where that plug goes , in other words...where the other end of the plug is. I'm getting desperate for any ideas of what this plug is to....and what to do with it. Thanks, Josh
  18. When I was taking the stock carbs off, with all the T.O.R.S crap, I started snipping wires...and I think I should have been a little more patient doing it. I need to know what I have to keep on and what I don't need anymore. I took off the two grey plugs that go to the plugs on the carbs. I took the control box for the T.O.R.S. off along with the plugs that go to it. And I also unplugged the wires that go to the thumb throttle...and I'm not too sure if I should have done that. But, what really bothers me is seeing two wires with no connection still on the quad...one is Black, the other one is green/yellow(2000 Banshee if it matters). Now, obviously..I dont know what the hell I did. I put everything back together and shee won't start. I played with the air screw, and started with a 182 main and a 55 slow jet. So now that I've taken all of the wiring off, I dont know if my problem is jetting or electrical. I NEED YOU'RE HELP!! If none of this makes sense...Ill try to rewrite it. Josh
  19. I love mine. It's kind of hard to fork out that much money for a lever, but you won't regret it. You will never worry about clutch cables again. Installing it is pretty easy, just be patient when dealing with the cylinder under the carbs. BE careful not to bend anything. And also look out for the hosing rubbing against the pipes(if you have the plastic or rubber hosing). I've heard it's known to melt if it gets too hot. Josh
  20. HA HA!! I think Blue Duece hit the nail on the head. Personally I bought my bike with one on it...so I really have no reason to jump into this dispute.
  21. I just bought a 2 into 1 intake with a 34mm PJ that will have a clamp-on K&N w/outerwear. I wanted to know where to start on jetting. Right now I still have the stocker's on. I have 310 mains, 32.5 pilots, and the needle is on the 3rd clip. I have T-5's, K&N w/lid off, elev. is around 750 ft. and it's about 70-80 degrees outside. I've been trying to read as much jetting info on 2 into 1's but it seems like most of them are dealing with PWK carbs. WHat type of a difference will this make being a PJ carb? I just wanted to have some type of an idea on where to start so I can get some jets before I tear into it. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Josh
  22. Broke, I decided to wait a little longer and get the front done with it. As of now I just jave triple rate works and a -2 swingarm with a dead stock shock. I plan on quicksand a-arms w/TCS double rates, and then I'll get the rear reworked too. I did call and talk to him for a little bit....seems like a cool guy, but did sound a little busy. He qouted me around $345...I think? lol, I have it written down somewhere. So I still plan on going through with everything....just waitin' for the cash. Josh
  23. Gary at Quicksand did mine.....not too sure if he still does but I'd assume so. Definately a great guy to deal with. It turned out sweet, cheap too. I've talked to some people that are skeptical about the whole cutting part, but I've tested mine with no problem what so ever. Also, I recently bought 18" kenda klaws for the rear and haven't had a problem hooking up since. But I've never seen a TT track in person so I'm not too sure how those would do.
  24. I just went on a ride yesterday with an aluminum trailor that sounds pretty much like what banshdog is talking about. It was the first time we've used it(a buddy of ours owned it). It was somewhere close to 16 ft. We had 6 quads on it that fit perfectly. I'm pretty sure the owner uses it as for his sleds. But I thought that trailor was great. It pulled VERY nice(pulled by a 2500 cummins). And it also had the hide-away ramp that fits under the trailor, which locks tight. I just thought the trailor was slick lookin', and worked just as well. It only took about 5 min. to get all the quads off because of the ramp that slides back and forth. Sorry, I never really got the name of it. Josh
  25. I just bought a Trinity 2 into 1 with a 34mm PJ. My question is should I start looking for a 35 mm PWK? I didn't really want the 33mm because I eventually plan on ported and have no problem with the supposed harder jetting. I heard the PWK's flow MUCH more air and have all around better performance than the PJ. And when a carb is set-up by SUDCO, what does that exactly mean? Would I have to find a carb that is set-up by them or just a 35 mm PWK? Any input is appreciated.....I'm a little lost. Josh
