I wouldnt have any fear that banshees or 250rs will be extinct anytime in our life. If you feel that way then buy a brand new shee... soak her down in grease and oil... Then put her up for about 40 years... Dont mean to sound cruel or anything but running our shees rich wont do a damn thing but create a bad name for our great bikes. Believe me dude... Banshees were made to be rode hard...run the hell out of them... Thats what they were made for. PERIOD.... The only way to preserve something is to keep them going. If you have the means to buy a new shee and put her on ice then you will have something in 20 or so years. Me, I plan to keep the shee's legacy alive by riding my baby and keeping her alive and running without a whole lot of smoke. Like I said dude I dont mean to come off as harsh or anything but thats the way I feel..

Mine has been pretty much bulletproof. Just stupid shit like a few months ago I had to put all new bearings in the swingarm-axle. Now my kickstarter has fell apart. For the life of me I cant understand why everybody talks shit about how unreliable a banshee is. Mine is a 2000 and has had a hard life.(my nephew ran 30 weight for premix for about 6 months before I bought it to give you an idea) Put a clutch in it last year. Thats about it.I better shut up because knowing my luck now that I said all this I will probably blow a top end next time I ride..

I agree with 0044. Thats the setup I run. I have an outterwear and hogged out the top of my airbox lid as well.If you dont ride in any lakes or ponds going without the airbox lid will be ok. I ride with alot of 4x4s and frequently ride in mud-water completely submerging the engine and alot of times up to the headlights so I absolutely have to have the airbox lid. I have had to drain the airbox on quite a few occasions as well.Basically dude it all depends on how you plan to ride. A hogged out lid isnt that much more restriction than running without one. Ditch the snorkle though.

Here we have Delmarva Powersports.They just opened up about 6 or so months ago. They were real easy to work with on parts when they first opened up. I called them to order some pieces for my kickstarter. All total it was $2.66 for the ball,spring and screw. Would you believe they wouldnt order the stuff until I went and paid for it. I could see if it were something that costs $20 or so. I have had them order parts for me before without paying first with no problems. So I had to ride 30 mins up there to pay $2.66.Pissed me off. They came up with the excuse that they cant track parts if it isnt paid for or some bullshit like that. I would have liked it better if they were just honest and told me they have gotten ripped off doing that rather than some bullshit excuse like that. Stealerships piss me off sometimes.

Yes that sux. I got a DWI on my shee last year riding the railroad tracks. Arrested me and impounded my shee as well. This cop was blocking the road on me. I didnt try to run or anything because I figured he was just gonna tell me to take it home.NOT... Lost me liscense for 4 months over that shit. The judge thought it was crazy and only gave me 1 year unsupervised probation with no fines. All I had to do was pay court costs. The only reason I lost me liscense for 4 months is because I refused the breathalizer. I felt I didnt have to blow because I wasnt in a car or anything. I was riding my quad on the tracks for gods sake. Yes it sux when you have a cocky SOB who has nothign better to do than mess with somebody having fun on their quad. I can see if you were riding wheelies down the highway.

Warm it up. Make sure your jetting is right. Once she is dialed in run the piss out of her.

As for me I am a little one sided. I love and will always love the Banshee. It is a true Classic. You just cant get any better as far as I am concerned. Next I would have to go with the YFZ450. It kind of looks like a pissed of mosquito (sp?) but I like it. I Used to like the z400 until my neighbor got one. The nice looks of them worre off real quick. I like the looks of the 400ex but those fugly headlights does it in for me...Dont even mention the trx450... Same deal as the 400ex. Dont mean to be a thread robber here but what is you alls best 4 by? Personally I love the looks of the Rincon. A very close second goes to the Grizzly.. Next is the Vinson.. Sorry let me quit....I could run on for days....

I am having problems with my 92 s-10 blazer. It wont lock into 4-wheel drive. It has that push buttom bullshit. I hear the little motors switching on the transfer case when I hit the buttons but the hubs wont lock in. From my understanding the hubs are vacuum operated.I dont know> I just bought it today. I am from the old school when you had to get out and manually lock the hubs in. This "new" shit sux... Is there anybody here who knows anything about what I am talking about? ANY help will be appreciated. I would love to have my 4 wheel drive working this weekend because I want to ride the beach with my family. Thanks in advance.

I am with you. I will probably always have a shee. I am in the process of convincing my wife that we need another shee. I want to buy a 2006 so I can have "one of the last" shees. I wonder if the very last shee made is spoken for yet? Now THAT would be awesome to have the very last one made but I bet Yamaha will keep that one...

She should the oppertunity to retire with her head held high,racing up a dune,screaming,as she puts every bit of her energy to the ground to move her rider as quickly as possible to the top! This is my request to you: Haul all of your modified 4 strokes out to the sand dunes and introduce them to the banshee. Give her a set of pipes and some haulers and a chance to be in one last shootout,a dune shootout.Let her leave the limelight with one last show. I understand the Shee might not win--she probably wont--but that is not the point. Give her and her loyal followers an opertunity to go out with pride.To race across the dunes,to blast out of a deep hole,to race through a whooped out trail with high berms to snake through,to wheelie down the flats in fourth gear! let her line up with her youthful replacements from a dead stop at the very bottom of a hill and claw to the top as fast as she can while trying to beat them.Give her,give US, an opertunity to say good bye with our heads held high. International makes the power stoke diesel for ford. According to wards auto world ford has been having an aweful lot of warranty claims with the new power choke engines. So many warranty claims in fact that Ford is no longer going to have international make a v6 diesel for the explorer as planned. That job is going to cummins now I believe. IMO I would take a cummins over a powerchoke anyday. The older powerstrokes are really good engines from what I hear. My brother has a 93 dodge 1 ton 4x4 with a cummins and he has a little over 400,000 miles and has not even had to put an injector pump in it yet. If I were going to buy one I would def. go with dodge and cummins..

I have been using this stuff since I have owned my banshee and love it. Wouldnt use anything else.

A 4 stroke takes 4 strokes of the piston to complete the cycle, then starts over again.. Intake,compression,power,and exhaust. A 4 stroke will only produce power every 2 revolutions of the crankshaft, A 2 stroke produces power every revolution of the crank.Thats why 2 strokes accelerate faster. Plus with a 2 stroke you have less mass internally to move versus a 4 stroke. No valves,cams,ect. This is a very crude description I know,but I hope it helps.
