  1. same here I also have the toomey rad.One of the best things I ever bought!!!!motor runs from 175 -190 degrees.Like one guy said I also put cardboard in front for the winter months.I never overheat anymore!!
  2. To get stock numbers for all banshee parts you can go to rivaracing.com they have a parts finder. But to get the part # you have to put the part in your part basket to buy and than just close it out.(no need to buy anything)
  3. What are some of the max RPM's you guys get too ?On a cool day I got 8200...
  4. Anyone interested I only sold the carbs....
  5. With all the different setups that are out here.Has anyone had problems running +4 timing on pump gas?I've been tossing it around to run +2 or+4 with my set-up....I have 150 PSI from what I heard porting can be a factor also.
  6. I always ride with a fanny pack around the waist and a barrel bag wedged in the front bumper for tools.Barrel bags works awsome with the aftermarket bumper...
  7. I have a small pepcock leak and wondering if replacing the oring(where you turn the fuel on/off)will slove the problem?or just a new pepcock is needed.Hate to replace the oring and have it leak.
  8. make sure you grease the seals and oil the bearings!!!You don't want to start the engine dry the first time...
  9. I felt the same way.My buddy and I built mine and was easier them we thought!!!Take Your time with everything.Personally I never crack a beer until I was done working for the night.building a 2-stroke for the first time and drinking could= big problems. The only thing that was a pain-in-the-ass was torqueing the nut for the inner hub.Once I found a tool to hold it all was good!
  10. I ended up going with barnett dirt digger with my hinson basket. For shits and giggles I email barnett and here's what they said. Just because you have a Hinson basket it doesn't mean that the fingers of the basket aren't going to groove whether you are using our plates, stock plates, or any other plates. Their basket will groove just like a stock basket will. How much longer it lasts than stock is anybody's guess because it depends a great deal on your riding style. The Kevlar friction material has absolutely nothing to do with grooving of the basket. The material never even touches the basket. It only makes contact with the pressure plate and inner hub. What causes grooving of basket fingers is the tabs of the friction plates. If you want a basket that won't groove, you should seriously check out our new billet clutch basket for the Banshee (# 800619). This basket is made from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and has stainless inserts over the basket fingers to eliminate grooving. It also comes with the cushion inserts for the back of the basket. This basket retails for $249. If you do decide to go with our clutch kit, I recommend our # YPK-27DCF complete Carbon Fiber clutch kit for the Banshee. Suggested retail price is $117. While the Kevlar is a very good material, the CF material withstands more heat and abuse to give you a longer clutch life. Chris Taylor Barnett Tool & Eng. I heard they don't last(carbon fiber ones).also don't know of anyone here that runs them.Just odd barnett would recommend them.....

  12. if she crackles it's rich for some reason and I don't think a carb is clogged.if you didn't do ANYTHING to your machine and this problem happened, maybe you have a bad spark on one side.(stator perhaps). When you say "it pops" is it more of a backfire?
  13. The main reason I got a coolhead is for easy compression changes and looks cool.I'm sure they cool the motor a tad.buy a water temp gauge or make one before you install a coolhead see what happens.I trail ride and it can get pretty hot sometimes so i bought a toomey radaitor.I don't know what the temp.came down to,but surely can tell just from the heat of the engine it's cooler!!!In the winter I have to block part of the radaitor to keep it 180ish.only bad thing guys here said about the pro-design head is they can worp in time.I'm sure guys here will tell ya to buy a noss head.i have a pro and if i need another one it will be Noss.... Hope were helping ya out...
  14. yep I had that problem every timeI jumped.Until I bought the adjustable reservoir kit for coolheads. This will stiffen up the water !!!problem solved.....
  15. Do a search if you want to read up on the pro-shift kits.banshee repairs and mods, also the drag forum it's be talked about.
  16. I have heard some bad things about the pro-shift....I'm having my shift star modded to aid with the shifting problems.Pm boonman he does them....
  17. macgicracing has the barnett kits...I never heard much about the ebc kits and the tusk are back order for a while.I heard some good things about them.
  18. Have anyone ran the barnett carbon fiber clutch kits.I just saw them....
  19. So what's the bad thing about running aluminum plates? They wear out fast and will have shavings in the oil....I'm asumming that the stock plates are just a softer steel so they wont wear out the hinson basket right.
  20. looks sweet....
  21. I wonder how many PM's boonman has on a monday morning...poor guy.l...
  22. Anyone here sell them?(Ebay perhaps)I would perfer to buy one from a guy from this site than some other guy.I never bought anything from ebay I was trying but the bidding war kinda sucks.Upping my bid every few hours I just want the darn thing. Thanks

  25. I'm doing the shift star and lighten flywheel mod.I'll have it apart and thinking of replacing the clutch.I already replaced the clutch basket with a hinson one and heavy springs. The clutch is stock(1996).What is a good clutch kit to buy and from where?I do mostly trail ride and drag with the guys once in a while.I'm sure it's a good idea to replace the plates and steels right?(o'ring's to?) Thanks guys....
