D&D racing in northern NY rebuilt my banshee motor several years back. Good Guys but they mainly deal with snow mobiles. I was wondering if anyone here has tried thier F-5 twister cylinders or thier billet power heads. They are a two piece design that I find unique. any feed back on these products or this company would be great thanks.
Ran mine this weekend at just over 3000 ft. 185 main and a 55 pilot. still have the idle adjustment about half way out and the air screw is two turns out. RAN LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL!!!!! I loved it. oh and it was between 80-90 degrees. Hope this helps. Needle is in the middle slot
I put a 55 in and I still can't turn the idle adjustment all the way in. It has to stay at about half out to idle at all. I have also tried going down all the way to a 45 I think it was and that didn't help either. Any more suggestions. It lugs for a second on the bottom end. I need it to rip from bottom to top please help
Yeah I bought mine used and the pervious owner was running a 68 pilot. I thought that was way to big so that is why I am still playing with my jetting. I still can't run it with the idle adjustment/ choke all the way down. Think I should go larger than a 68?
I am still playing with my jetting but I have the 2-1 with a pj 34mm , Fatty pipes, K&N clamp on. Elevation is 1000-3000 mostly at 3000 so far I have a 55 pilot and a 185 main. Hoping to get some more readings this weekend.
My carb boot is all cracked up. I don't know if it is cracked all the way through but I ordered a new one from trinity and all new gaskets. I hope this fixes my problem. I can't honsetly believe that my bike needs that big of a pilot. Does anyone else have any ideas on what the problem could be?
The idle adjustment is the same as the choke. turn it counterclock wise and it rasies the idle and the choke plunger. it is turned all the way out just like if the choke was on all the time. I try to twist it down and it won't idle. So I am thinking it needs more fuel. I worked my way all the way down to a 38 pilot and it really didn't have much effect. would an air leak cause this?
I am trying to jet my trinity 2-1 intake with 34mm PJ carb. I can't seem to get the right piolt. I bought it used and it came with a 68 pilot. Which seems huge to me but it won't run unless I have the idle adjustment almost all the way out. It acts like it wants more fuel. Is this normal for PJ carbs. Now I have no choke because the idle adjustment is all the way out. What other problems should I look for. Should I just go for a larger pilot? Oh the air screw really has no effect on the whole thing.
Fatty Pipes
Single PJ 34mm
stock reeds and cages
Bored .020 over
clamp on k&N no box
elevation is 1000'-3400' depending on where I ride
temp 80-95
I Had the same exact problem with mine. And I did replace everything in the electrical system except for the stator that was testing good. Then I bought a new stator from Ricky Stator and vola problem solved. If I were you I would try another stator and make sure your Pick up is adjusted right.
I just installed a trinity cv manifold with a 34mm PJ carb. I am at 1000' and its 90 outside. I have fatty pipes and K&N clamp on no box. The carb came used with a 178 main and a 68 slow or pilot jet. The bike will start and run with the choke on but as soon as you take it off it dies. The air screw is 1 1/2 turns out and with the choke on it seems to be idling ok. Should I go bigger on the pilot or smaller? 68 seems kinda big from what I have been reading on here. So what should I go with
Hey everyone just got a great deal on a trinity cv manifold with a 34mm pj carb. I am new to playing with carbs. I can't figure out how to get the needle out. Can someone tell me how to take the cap apart. Also what jetting should I try first. My elevation is 1000ft, I have Fatty pipes with power core 2 scilencers. K+N clamp on with no box. and it has been bored .020 over. Thanks for the help
I have run 33x12.50 brigdestone dueler m/t on two of my trucks now and both went over 60k in miles. offroad they always got me through the mud and ponds or whatever else I decided to go through. Pics of my truck Awesome tire both on and off road
What jetting do you suggest for the fatty pipes. I just put them on. I have played with the premix ratio some to compensate. I had a dynoport 2-1 pipe on it before but I have no idea what my jetting is. Guess I need to just rip it apart and learn how to jet.
I have a ricky stator adjustible timing plate and I was wondering what it would be safe to advance it to. Stock motor with fmf fatty pipes. Also if I advance the timing do I need to rejet? I am running 91 octane fuel also. What benifits does advancing the timing give you?
