  1. That zig zag ring your talking about is infact a oil control ring, you got some wrong parts. Cody
  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270566311172&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  3. Great seller kept in constant communication threw hq, text, and called me! Great guy! Cody
  4. looks like were not gonna make it, girls shee wont be done and if you seen my post "compression difference" then you know my story!
  5. More pics and prices, i know jim at passion is working up some real special pipes, we will have to see!
  6. are you talking about a oil control ring possible? You will not use this on a banshee, and it does sound like you have impropper parts like brandon said! Cody
  7. if you stripped out one of the clutch spring bolt holes, then you stripped out the inner clutch hub, not the basket. New clutch hub is like 30 bucks from jeff at fast i believe.
  8. i know its hard to tell by the picture, but would you think that this crank is complete junk? It would be cool if you couldnt get to it for a couple weeks, is there a good time to call you? Cody
  9. Definetly not just going to throw money at it. I torqued the flywheel not per manual. I am capable of mesuring the cases and will do so soon, crank sits in fine and all the bearings are tight and look good, all the bearings on the crank do not spin when the crank is set in the cases. Not sure if i blew the seal out when i was doing the leakdown test, (had a faulty gauge) or if it was blown before. No signs of leaking on that side, i actually tore it down because the right side was leaking. The oring on the outboard bearing was toast on the stator side though. Ill let ya know what i find and thanks for all the help. Im really considering just boxing all this shit up and sending it to someone for troubleshooting, anytime in your busy schedule brandon? Cody
  10. you tell me lol, thats the funny thing, both keyway grooves are pefect, but all those missing chunks are on the shaft and there is some marks in the flywheel to in equal spots but not as bad. I really dont know what to do, most likely looks like ill be getting a new crank (son of a bitch) maybe some cases, and probably another new flywheel. Bottom line this will be 3rd rebuild in the last year and only a total of like 3 hours. First rebuild rode for two hours crank broke 2nd rebuild you see here 3rd rebuild better stay the fuck together or you guys will be seeing another part out soon. Cody Yay the edit buttons back flywheel also came off nice, was on there good, but wasnt a bitch taking it off. Going to call jim tonight and see what he has to say!
  11. flywheel was perfect, brand new key, nut, and flywheel from member, key is perfect not sheared or anything!
  12. Thing is this is a different flywheel, and a different crank then the first time it happened two hours after the rebuild. This crank came straight from hot rods welded. Flywheel is in good shape from a member on here.
  13. Heres what happened before.
  14. okay update, good news is the top ring was just seized, cylinder looks fine. Bad news is i had a air leak out the crank seal on the stator side, pulled the flywheel off and found a suprise on my brand new hot rods 4 mill crank. Will post pictures within the hour, its got me scared because i had a crank brake right at the flywheel side bearing, just before this rebuild (because of that after 2 hours on that rebuild). Cody
  15. vht header paint works really well.
  16. well silver lakes this next weekend and im not at home with my quad, so i did what i had to do. I would have tore it down first and checked everything but im not where my quad is till this weekend and if i wanna go to silver i have to have all bases covered!
  17. Jims base gasket was a one piece and a different material then normal if i recall. Spoke with him and he said head gasket is cool, and base gasket should be fine as well. He said if it looks like the piston started to seize and there aluminum on the bore to use some meratic acid to boil it off. Said i shouldnt need to hone but if i do a degalzing ball hone should be fine, run it at medium speed and a couple quick passes. Ill keep ya updated
  18. I heard it was ok to reuse the head gasket and base gaskets? Good idea? Cody
  19. A little ted nugent never hurt anybody
  20. Yes will do, im hoping that the bore will be fine and i wont even have to hone it. But thats a hope.
  21. I will for sure, im pretty sure its all from that air leak though. But we will find out, motor will be torn apart saturday and piston will be here on tuesday. Cody
  22. I was happy to see when you replied, any insight on what i may find? Cody
  23. Okay got a new piston and rings comein from FAST, hopefully everything will be cool when i tear her down! Cody
