  1. Do DG pipes sound similar to other name brand pipes like toomey, procircut and FMF? I've heard some people say they dont perform as good, but they sound pretty decent. Can you use DG sliencers with other pipes? would it give it a different sound then with the original silencer? Like would toomey pipes and DG sliencers sound different than toomey pipes and sliencers?
  2. what about if you keep it in a fairly high gear, like 3rd or 4th, with out holding in the clutch and just use the brakes? will that damage the motor or anything?
  3. what about going down hills on a 2 stroke? When ever I'm on my 400ex I usually just keep it in 1st or 2nd and let the engine braking slow me down. The day I rode my friend's blaster on one of my hill climbs I had so much fun. I think his blaster (just had a toomey pipe and jetted) could pull that hill alot better than my 400 (which is stock, except for holeshots). And it was so fun climbin that hill in 3rd gear on the pipe even if it was just on a blaster. But then when I got to the top and started coming back down, things changed. His blaster pretty much has no back brakes, and barely any front brakes. As I started over the hill in 1st, I noticed that the motor wasn't slowing me down, like on a four stroke. So I just held the clutch in and used what brakes i had. I almost shit my pants I was going so fast and I couldn't hardly stop. Is that the correct way to decend a hill on a two stroke, hold in the clutch and use the brakes?
  4. well, right now the only thing i have to worry about is paying my insurance on my truck, which is about $400 every 6 months. My truck is already paid for. When I talked to the guy at the dealership about buying a shee, he said that I would probably have to have an adult sign for me, since im under 18. but since then i've turned 18. So I was thinkin that my dad could sign for me and I pay for it, I have the money to pay for it untill I get out of school and get a job as well as pay my insurence. And I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't miss a payment.
  5. Does anyone know when and what kind of finance promotion yamaha is going to have next on quads and bikes? I think the current promotion is like $39 a month with 4.9% apr for 24 months. I think that offer was supposed to end like jan 31 2005. I was planning on buying a new banshee this month but I dont think i'll get to (had to buy some shit for my truck and stuff ). I really needed that promotion cause i have some money saved up to make payments on it untill I get out of school and find a good job ( probably around 6 to 8 months). After this promotion ends, will there be another offer with low monthly payments and stuff?
  6. What about over-revving a 2 stroke? When ever I drag on a 4 stroke, I like to whind out each gear untill I feel the power stop pullin. How do u know when to shift on a 2 stroke that has alot of top end power? Do you shift right when you hit the powerband or do you hold it wide open untill it doesn't pull and then shift?
  7. I think thats the problem I had when I rode that blaster. cause when I would shift to 3rd, 4th, or 5th, I would always bog the motor and would have to clutch it to get back on the pipe . Only when I would drag race with it I could shift 1st through 6th and stay on the pipe the hole time
  8. lol, thats funny . You didn't even use a period in that paragraph
  9. I need some advice from some experienced riders. I've been riding 4 strokes all my life, ttr-125's and crf 150's to 400ex's, kfx 400 and raptors. I am kinda getting tired of them and have decided that next summer I'm gonna get me a new, or used, banshee. I have never ridden one before and I probably wont get to untill the day I buy one. I've never really ridden a 2 stroke much either. I have rode my friends blaster once or twice and my cousin's cr 125 one time. And I have to say those times were the most fun I'd ever had on a quad or bike. To me, 2 strokes are ten times more fun to ride . Now, about my question. How much difference is there in riding technique, like clutching, throttle, shifting, etc., between a 2 stroke and 4 stroke? How long does it take to get good at riding a banshee? The blaster I rode had almost all mid and top end power and pretty much no bottom end. I've always been used to having plenty of bottom end power, so I had a little trouble riding the blaster on trails and hills and stuff. Would I have any trouble riding a banshee? cause i ain't really used to the powerband of a 2 stroke.
  10. Well, I've never ridden any of those quads you mentioned, but I would get the Tecate. teh trx 250r- everybody's got one, the suzuki 250- fugly as hell if u ask me. The tecate 4 looks pretty cool IMO and its a rare quad and not many people has one. Plus they can be badass when u mod em out.
  11. In a good, long drag race (like 1000 ft or something) out in the field I usually start in 1st. I whind out the motor 1st through 3rd, then I kinda short shift a little in 4th and 5th, then when I get in 6th, I feather the clutch till I get wide open. Wins Every Times
  12. I think a good choice would be a motor like in the kawi Ninja 500r. Its a 500cc parallel twin with the dual carbs and pipes. But since yamaha doesn't really make a 500cc 4 stroke inline twin (All they got is big 4 cylinders in their street bikes) they could maybe barrow one from somebody.
  13. If yamaha "redesignes" the banshee next year, what kind of motor do you think they should put in it? Prefereably some type of street bike motor would be nice . I wish a 4 cylinder would fit in that frame .
  14. Has anyone seen the new 05 400ex? with the 450r front end, reverse, and "revised" gear ratios? The MSRP is like $5,799. I think it was $5,299 for the 04 verison. In my honest opinion, I think this is a pretty damn good quad. I think it looks way better than the 450r, the big 400ex fenders just kinda look better with that front end then the sharp, pointed fenders of the 450r. Now that it has reverse, like most other 4 strokes, it is just now up to par. Don't know about the "new revised gear ratios", I didn't have a problem with the old ones. The new 05 400ex is now 2nd on my list of quads that I plan to buy, the banshee is still numba 1.
  15. "The Boeing was flying 530 mph 2 feet above the ground" Thats not possible . Then when it showed the pic of the cars on the interstate that should have been tipped over when the plane went over, wouldn't the "plane" have hit the cars on the road?
  16. My friend done that with his blaster. He was doing wheelies with no grab bar and broke his toomey silencer when he come back to far . So he just put the stock sliencer back on. It worked fine and still had the same power, just a little quieter and it didn't have the toomey "ping" .
  17. eeehehe Its a quote piramid
  18. Thats almost as funny as a retarded person eating hot wings.
  19. No, its a twin, you just cant tell from the pic. Why else would it have 2 spark plugs on each side? Oh yea, I found another link this morning. Its the first one on the page, the Denali 250. It has the exact same motor and frame as the blue one. So whoever makes it really likes to imbreed http://www.patclarkmotorsport.com/atv/atv1.htm
  20. where/how did you get your first banshee? I'd really like to find me a nice used one that runs good and has been taken care of for a good price ( no higher than $3600). I have hardly ever seen a used one at the dealer and they only have the brand new limited edition models. what do you guys think about buying online? I dont like using ebay cause I've heard of alot of crucked bastards that sell shit. Anybody ever bought anything off cycletrader.com or atvtrader.com? What about the shipping and how much does it usually cost? How exactly would you get a four wheeler shipped to your house? Would there be a chance that you wouldn't get what you paid for, like something totaly different than what you were looking at? I have seen some pretty nice banshees on atvtrader.com that were around $3000 and one that even said that the seller would pay the shipping . I wonder if the guy is serious or if its a typo?
  21. no, its not a kasea. The store has like 4 or 5 of them and I asked the sales guy yesterday and he said he "thinks" yamoto makes them and honda makes the engine. But I went to their website and didn't find anything like it. I've looked all over the damn internet and haven't found anything that looks like it. I'm just gonna go test ride the bitch and see how it really is.
  22. Does anyone here have any idea of what kind of atv this is? http://www.pier19imports.com/motorized/ATV-10.html I stopped at this pier 19 store the other day and saw this thing. It has a 250cc 4 stroke inline twin with dual headers and sliencers, but a single carb. It has a wierd ass swingarm and the sprocket is in the middle of the axle. The chain runs from the front sprocket to another sprocket right behind where the engine sits. I sit on it and it felt like it had a very high seat height, and the handle bars were way to high, which made it feel very weird and tippy. The seat was also small and hard and the suspension was very stiff. I asked a guy who worked there how much they were selling them for and he said around $2400. I forgot to ask him though who makes it and if you can get parts for it. so anybody have any idea?
  23. I was just wondering what kind/size helmet you guys wear. I wear a Vega. bought it new for $109. Its green, snell approved, and a large.
  24. Ha, that website is really screwed up
  25. I'd have to try it before I buy it . Whats up with that pipe? It looks like it curls around the cylinder?
