  1. What all does Jeff do in the ..."Fun Port"? Just wondering?
  2. Thats a good question!! I'm glad your posting a thread about aftermarket ignitions. I'm planning on changing my stock setup for a good aftermarket one. I've seen alot of companies and Dyna fs seems to be a looker . I know its kinda high in price, but I'll bide my time...LOL. I've heard of MSD and they have been around for awhile. Come on everyone....whats your choice of durability and reliability? I'm sure this thread will bring alot of attention.
  3. Is any of the splines in the kick starter stripped or worn? Send me a PM.
  4. It was a quick line up and race deal. To me I guess he would have only had pipes, jets and K&N by the way he launched and hooked up. I feel I lost alot of take off through the Sand Skate 2's and since my chain was slacked pretty good I lost alot of take off power. He had to have those mods that I mentioned above cause he was like ...by me on the line and gone. I can tell you this though..My motor isn't built yet and my shee reeled his ass in pretty darn fast. I never had bolts and chain lossen like that and it has caused me to pay more attention to detail thats for sure.
  5. That was halarious!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
  6. I sold my stock black fronts and got a race fender for my shee and like everyone says...it looks killer!! Sure I might get splattered by mud,but it cleans off.
  7. My motor hasn't been cracked open and its a 97. With the mods I have in my sig besides the bling the power with the v Force 3's are arm jerking. Later this year I'm gonna go ahead and install a wiseco .020 K140 kit. I know its not as big of a kit than most people run out there, but it as long as it rips and gives me a thrill ...BIG THUMBS UP!!!!
  8. Wow.....Reason I asked...is I found a wiseco .020 over kit with pro lites the ad said BANSHEE/RZ kit. This totally threw me off track since I have never really dwelled on the RZ image too much, even though I've heard it numerous times. Thanks everyone for the comments thus far.
  9. .....Dang it...Sorry...I ended up buying a wiesco .020 kit with pro Lites. Thanks for the reply though.
  10. I have never paid much attention to this, but can someone explain the difference to me of the Banshee and the RZ?
  11. Man....Thats WILD!!!!! Nice Job!!
  12. If your carbs are leaking ....may need a new float bowl gasket and you might need to check your floats to see if they are sticking. If this happened after you removed the carbs...just tap the sides of your carb lightly and turn your fuel cock on and see if it drains out the plastic flow tubes...if not...your floats are working.
  13. I would look in the area above your header pipes and see if there is a wire hang down and grounding out, tors... left overs, mine was a black wire. I just got some eletrical tape and wraped it nice and neatly into the others that were already wrapped....make sure no bare wire is showing. Here another...make sure your wires and connectors on your coil are secure. EXAMPLE...We just got to the dunes unpacked and decide to take a spin....I made it around a 30yrds out spun a superb banshee donut and ...BLEH...she dies out. After looking I saw a black wire loose from its connector on the coil...fixed it and ..RiiiiNNGGG....DDDDinnnng.
  14. I use clymer too. I also have a service manuel on cd. Its the same thing all the dealerships have that they think we don't...LOL. It shows parts, diagrams and procedures. On your PC you can zoom in or out on a specific area of the diagrams, scroll and print and take it to the garage with you to have on your work desk. I got mine off of ebay. I'll try to post a pic of it soon.
  15. It was all just lying in the front pipe when I removed it from the cylinder. And yeah, I'm not feeling too good about this. Here's the first few of the pics: I've pulled the head and the bad side doesn't look too bad. Should clean up ok. (That's a NEW plug in the bad side. I just put it in there for washing the engine). Surprise, surprise, I still have two pistons! ... But both are at the top More interesting stuff to follow. Rare 366110[/snapback] YIKES!!! that isnt good at all.....check her out good. Those really look wore out.
  16. My guess is : check the wiring that comes from your tors units. A black wire that runs from it causes shees to sputter out. Since I got the tors removel kit, I haven't had a problem. Just make sure you always pay attention to how your throttle reacts after the tors removal ( if you go that route) and you'll be fine... watch for delay of thottle closure. Keep the cable lubed well and if lubed well and it still hangs alittle..check for frayed cable...just general maintance.
  17. I went with Vito's tors removel and I like it real well. My idle screws look like your picture does. Just get the tops and your fine.
  18. I run Bel-Ray GearSaver in my Shee and had pretty good luck with it. I've owned my Shee for 4 years now and no tranny problems to complain about yet.
  19. I ran Sand Skate 2 and could'nt hook up as quick on my march trip to LS, this caused me to get spanked by a 450r.....LOL. Once going I lessened the gap between his bike and mine. I needed hook up from the line. A friend of mine IMAFMF ran Haulers and totally tore the 450r rider a new bore size on the drags. His Haulers didn't hurt him at all in the trails. I'm ordering HAULERS in 8 paddle for our next trip!!
  20. heck....LOL....I'd even settle for a nice black one.
  21. Me and some friends of mine were coming out of the south camp grounds at LS in march and a 450r rider flagged my friend down whom also had a Shee. They talked for a while and I seen them line up. I noticed there was to much slack in my chain than what I liked and my Tires which were Sand Skate 2's weren't hooking up on the drags so I figured I would sit it out on this race. If Some of you were down there around the 23th-25th you probably seen my Shee fall in the drags on the flats. In my siganture are the mods I have right now, so my motor isnt built internaly yet. When the friend of mine lined up with the 450r rider the 450r rider yells over to me and points to the line. I knew that my shee needed attention on the chain slack but it turned out to be even more than that.I didnt realize that my shees whole back end was loosening up.The sand was so rough that all I noticed was the slacking of my chain . I was planning on giving my shee a going over when we got back to the north camp ground but I went ahead and lined up on the other side of the 450r. A friend of the 450r rider flagged us off from a 100 yard shot. We all pegged our machines and let the r's go. My shee spun 2nd thru part of 3rd before it started to barely hook up. The friend of mine on the shee running haulers and the 450r rider was about 50 yards ahead of me. You can only guess the bike lenghts I was down by....LOL. My shee went from an embarrassing amount of losing distance to losing by 1 1/2 bike lenghts at the finish. My friend running the haulers beat him by at least 4 bike lenghts and his motor isnt built at all ....just pipes and jets. When we got back to the north camp ground and I checked the back end and seen my chain adjuster were laying flat and my chain had about 3 inches of freakin slack. My top bolt to my axle carrier had lost a nut and washer off the end and was moving around and hitting my rear sprocket. The hex head of the bolt was rounded completely. My bottom bolt to the carrier had the nut still on , but it was finger loose and the nuts that hold my rear hubs on were barely loose,...( Thank God for Cotter keys...Whew). If I knew that it was more than chain slack, I wouldn't have run that drag with the 450r or the flat drags. I was up at LS that weekend when the YFZ450 rider lost a swingarm bolt and got tangled up in his bike. Everything is ok with my shee and I am getting a set of hauler for the next trip.....and will be looking for that same rider if I can find him.....LOL. He might be bragging , but he didnt seen my shee close the gap either. It was a scary deal when I saw the backend of my shee all loosened up that day....but I'm proud of the way it closed that gap. Sorry for such a long story....had to get it off my chest and share. Next Time!!
  22. Nice story....I would have loved to see both incidents. I agree that idiots with out helmets and people that are plumb full of dumbass will be the cause of our sport falling.
  23. If you have an airbox...I posted a deal in the swap forum. I'm loaded up on chromies and billet...I'll pass it on to some HQers I know and have them check your stuff out. Sounds like great stuff.
  24. Gosh that leaves me out ....after meeting my vehicle payment I only have a hundred dollers left.
