  1. How old is the bike and how much has it been ridden? Could be something simple like an adjustment, and it could be the clutch is getting wore out and could even be something like the basket as zilla mentioned.
  2. Yamaha designed some things good and some things bad. Your right, in regards to being able to make some pretty darned good power with stock, but I like the power of the single carb much better. Smoother, more low end pull, and as good or better top end. Being easier to tune one carb is just a by-product, but it's a very good one.
  3. Be sure to give us a ride report!
  4. I never cut my plug. I always do a visual inspection and look at the ring and ground strap for visuals. IMO, it's a PITA and a waste to cut perfectly good plugs. I can look at a plug in just seconds and tell if it's the way I want it or not. It's easier to see what's going on with the plug if you cut when you haven't seen very many, but I just hate cutting plugs and won't do it.
  5. the straighter the better...
  6. 32:1 is fine. I run 40:1 but that's strictly personal opinion. I wouldn't go richer than 32:1 tho.
  7. See, the wizard works....
  8. That 4wd T Maxx is friggin sweet yo!
  9. Yea, pm boonman. He did mine and quite a few of th bhq peeps on here. He's cheap, and will get it right back to you if he's still doing them. Scott
  10. You need to buy my 34mm Flatslides so you can pull that 17.
  11. yes, you can use propane gas.... just don't light it....
  12. You need some drags, you need some drags, you need some drags....
  13. maybe the stockers seal really bad. I did have my pwk slide stick once in the dunes, but I think it was due to sand in the fuel and it got into the slide. It also clogged my pilot in the same deal. That was before the inline filter.
  14. I'm not bored with the 450 at all actually. I can't wait to show up with both and ask em how they wanna get their beat down. The 450 is the freakin shit in it's element, on the track and in the races. It's a kickass machine. The Banshee is a totally different machine, and I'm sick of looking at it in the shop waiting for attention. I'll get it going very soon.
  15. You will have to get that thing dyno'ed you know! This "grin meter" doesn't fly with me.
  16. 280s probably. start there. pilot could be stockers or maybe 27.5. I'm not real familiar with the TR6 pipes.
  17. nothing really to do with price, it's more of a tried that and want to try this now. The intake tubes on the Graydon are longer and some say it'll get more torque due to more velocity/vacuum through the intake, but that's yet to be seen. I like the clean look of it and having more room in between the carb and the cylinders. I've had people ask me about the Graydon, but have never had any experience, so now I will. On a side note, it was a little cheaper, but I think that's due to it being slightly used.
  18. If I took your comments the wrong way I apologize, they just sounded a little snotty to me. If you'll look back, I also said I try to practice at a race pace as well, but there's no way to duplicate the conditions as you said. What I was referring to was how people say they ride fast trails and then think they can hang in a 2 hour race. A lot of the peeps that want to trail ride around us are close to 60% through the trees and whoops. We end up slowing down and waiting on half the group. Twists, thumbs who cares. At our races, there are more thumb users then twists; but there are both. My thumb doesn't cramp up usually, but it does happen. So, I'll leave it at that. It's getting too deep and I'm sick of this thread.
  19. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  20. Hmm, there's some truth there... I'm anxious to try out the Graydon intake with the airstryker carb. The main prob with the single 35 is not enough vacuum at low throttle. The airstryker is supposed to help that. I was going to go to the dual 34's, but have decided against it. I like the single so much, I'm putting one back on there, but try it in a different style this time. I can't wait to get back on the banshee. I'm trying to get some T5's, but no one wants to trade. Stephen, I heard you bought my rear Elka shock as well... can I have it back? Maybe the fronts to??
  21. You shouldn't have a problem with a 15 tooth front. Go for it. You'll be glad later on. I still started in 2nd with the 15 tooth front.
  22. Well, then YOU of all people should know that when your on the trail riding fast, no wait super fast, that there's still a difference in that compared to when you've been past the edge and there's one person behind pushing you harder and there's another person in front your so desperately trying to catch. Knowing, you may not have much left in you, but somewhere you have to find the extra uumph. There's a difference when your out on the trail for 30 or 40 minutes and have the luxury to stop and take a piss if need be, stop and grab a drink, you can slow down and wait up for someone, back off the throttle for a moment when your thumb cramps up. You of all people should know that when racing for 1.5+ hours, there's NO stopping, NO backing off, it's riding at the edge of control for over 1.5 hours. Sure, the first 30 or 40 minutes ain't so bad, but after that third lap, things start getting numb, body parts start cramping up, your mouth is caked with dirt, your legs are becoming rubber, your out of tear-off's and it's getting harder to see, still no stopping, gotta make up more time. If that's how you trail ride, then my hat's off. And by the way, I'm not here to prove what I've done, how fast I can ride and what I can do, that's what real-life is for, not the internet. I'm not too worried about impressing someone on here. If you don't like what I have to say, hit the back button.
  23. I have a very low opinion of the Dynojet needle. I see quite a few peeps that have trouble getting their machine dialed in with that needle. They'll go back to the stock needle and the problem goes away. Needles are awfully touchy things to be swapping in and out. Not saying there aren't some that should be, but it should be something that's tested for not just done overall, IMO anyways.... hey, what do I know....
