  1. The Paul Turners work great on a banshee, mods or no mods. With mods, they even work better. That is, they work great for what they're designed to do. They fit a certain type of riding style. If you ride under those conditions, they're great. They'll still handle other areas. If you ride mostly trails / woods, they're great and then want to go dune for the weekend, they'll work pretty good. T5's are great pipes, but in the right conditions as well. You put them out of the element for which they were designed and they're not so great. I, to, have tried a lot of different pipes. Although, I've just put on a set of T5's to try for the first time. I will say, they lack more bottom end than I anticipated, but I still have some jetting to do and that might fix the bottom end some. Paul Turners have killer torque and midrange, especially when coupled with a woods port. I geared up to a 16/41 with my woods port and PT's and had unreal low end pull and it was very smooth all the way up, although they cut off a little earlier than most pipes. That's why most banshee peeps don't like them, they think of banshee riding with shearer-like topend. Anyways, there's my input FWIW. Scott
  2. Sounds like a good idea. You should consider this. Instead of sending you cylinders to a local machinist for boring/honing, you should send them to someone like Eric Gorr/Forward Motion that will bore, hone, port and piston match, sending you the Wiseco Pro-lites all for like 4 bills. He'll give them one hell of a woods port also. Scott
  3. Boon's right. Drill it and retap it for the bigger sized bolt and it will work like a champ. Scott
  4. I've got some Mikuni 34mm Flatslide carbs for sale. Great condition. $189 shipped.
  5. Nah, the Vforce are fine that are in there. Just pulled them and checked them. Then threw a 60 pilot in and it's getting better, but still is not quite enough fuel. Dammit, this open pod filter is wanting the fuel. It's firing on both now and almost wants to idle, but stalls out barely. I'm off to check my jetting chart and think some for a few. Scott
  6. Yea, it very well could be old nasty busted up reeds. I don't know much, if anything, about them there things, but I hope you get it figured out. Funny, I was just getting on to start looking for a gas quad for my "little one". Let us know man.
  7. Yea, I may need to take a peek at them, I don't remember looking at them real close. They were fine the last time I ran it, but who knows now. And I sold the replacement pedals I had.
  8. Got Mike's stator on, got spark. She'll only start with 1/8 of the throttle open, and then, only the left side was firing. The right side seemed decent. I pulled the plugs and didn't see a huge cake of oil like I expected. Took the 52 pilot out and put in a 55. The left side started better (still with 1/8 throttle tho) and the right side was starting to fire some. Still won't idle on it's own power, which is weird, and I'm also confused as to why I'm having the trouble with one side and not the other so much seeing that it's a single carb. Anyways, it seemed to get better after the 55 pilot, so I think I'm gonna make the move to a 60 this afternoon and see what happens. I'm also gonna get about 6 plugs to have on hand as I need a new set. I had a new set in there but pulled them when it acted up, being unsure if they fouled or not. I have a 205 main and the EEK needle in the 3rd clip. I'll let you know what happens. Scott
  9. The 2-1 is a great carb. More low end and mid for trails and as much or more top end than the stock carbs. Yes, you can use your current pipes (even tho we don't know which ones you have). I've ran then with Fatties, PT Mids and soon to be running it with T5s. It is much easier to tune and deal with, that's not why I have it, but it's a good side-effect. I just won't run 2 carbs. Scott
  10. I got it together short of the plastic while I'm ironing out this problem. I'm meeting up with Mike/txblueshee today to borrow his cdi and stator hopefully. I think it's the stator, but I'm going to try the cdi also. I'm hoping this baby will runnn!! I don't have any rear tires. I have 10" rear rims (not the paddle rims) but no tires to fit and I don't want to buy 10" tires because I like 9" tires, so I'm stuck. I'll probably end up buying some .160 9" wheels and putting the iRazrs on them for the Banshee and then get me some Knarly rears for the Honda. The iRazrs seem to hook up really well with the Banshee's power. Here's a few pics in the meantime and I can't get my flash to work for some reason...
  11. What crossover tube....
  12. the banshee... you freak.
  13. Going absolutely freaking nuts!!! I think my stator is screwed. I'm only getting like .3 volts AC from the two wires going into the coil. My local tech tells me it should be around 40 or 50. I cleaned the outer part with an emory cloth to ensure the surface is clean and it's nice and shiny, but still no voltage. My stator ohms out perfect. The pickup coil ohms out perfect. I couldn't get the coil to ohm out right, but I'm still messing with that. I double checked my grounds on the timing plate for the stator and the cdi. I disconnected the kill switch so it can't be the problem. I'm still not getting any volts from the stator. I'm waiting until sometime in the weekend to borrow txblueshee's stator and cdi box. I'm just needing to vent as it goes right over my wife's head.
  14. Well thanks crazy. I would like to sell these babys to someone, so don't push and shove getting to the front....
  15. Get rid of the DynoJet "piece" of crap. Go back to the stock. Then retry your 320 main.
  16. They're great plugs and harder to foul. They burn much hotter than the stockers and can help add that "edge" to your machine. One of the things I don't like about them is they seem harder to read than the stock plugs. I went through a difficult jetting period in my banshee after I ported it and when I went back to the stock plugs, it made it a lot easier, and I've never gone back to them.
  17. All I know is they are old school....
  18. What other mods? Pipes, reeds, etc? 290 sounds like a piped banshee. You might need to try a 27.5 pilot with the needle in the 4th clip.
  19. I'd say start at least with a 280, maybe a 290 or 300 and a 30 pilot. Start out with the needle in the 3rd, but once you take it for a spin, try it in the 4th and see if it's better. Scott
  20. I have the stock carbs off of my banshee for sale. They have the tors tops and the throttle cable included. I'll also include the stock manifolds if you want/need them with the crossover tube attached. I'm looking for $150 shipped. Scott
  21. I would try to richen your main another size. If the carbs are tuned correctly, it shouldn't do this.
  22. Damn, didn't think of that, but that is a slightly common mistake. I don't know how it'd run at all tho backwards, let alone with a 270, but it would be something to check. You could pull the carbs and look in the ports to verify w/o pulling the head and cylinders.
  23. running two isn't a big deal, but I wouldn't run them back to back. I'd be sure to have at least 1/4 of the chain in between them. Just me.
  24. yea, I remember from f'in around with the people on btraxx, there's another locogato there and it's not Tyler. Oh and BTW, Tyler's a puss along with hs 500cc Banshee... j/p
  25. and make sure the chain has been taken off the sprocket....
